So it been two weeks after my surgery and I do feel a lot better. To be honest, I don't think the whole entire experience was particularly painful at all but instead it was more uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable, I've decided to went with Dr.Speigel in Boston and I'm glad I did. Money was never a problem with me so it's all come down to experience. Personality wise he was a little dry but I didn't pay him to be my friend so whatever . Lol. He always in a rush but he's always answer every question that I have and the thing I love about him the most is how confident he is. For two weeks my swelling had went down ok but not where I wanted it to be. With that being said, I can already see how good it's turning out though. So I'm not complaining, just irritated. Lol. After you done with your surgery they'll send you flowers to your hotel room which were sweet of them. Carol, she's his coordinator had been nothing but amazing so if you decided to check him out, make sure you ask for her. I'll keep you guys updatin throughout the whole thing and I just wanna encourage whoever thinking about getting this done, you should. It's a pain in the butt but after you heal and everything, it'll be worth it.

Tips and Tricks

So it's been 2 and a half weeks and my healing is going pretty well. Swelling is still there but bruises and eye blood shot are going drastically down. Can finally eating normal again but still some restrictions due to stitches haven't fully dissolved and my chin and lips still swollen. So here are some of my thought about this whole recovery. First is that you have to be mentally and physically prepare for this, it is not easy and it's very exhausting. Sometimes when I look at my old pictures I just cried and felt like I didn't loved my old self enough and that's why I got surgeries but then I snapped out of it and knowing that it's not true. I'm not changing myself, I'm just correcting my body to how I feel in the inside. It's all about the bigger picture picture when you're fully heal. That should be your motivation aka the light at the end of the tunnel:) You need to sit down somewhere quietly and really go over every procedure that you're going to do and you need to make sure you really wanted this and need it. Or you'll ended up in regret especially the whole thing will go by so quick that sometimes you don't really have much time to really think about it so please do. So make sure you talk to your surgeon about EVERYTHING, do not be scare to speak up and ask any question that you have small or big, whatever procedure that he's suggesting but you're not comfortable with, don't do it. You can always come back and do it whenever you're ready. But don't ever let them push you into any procedure that you don't want. It's you that are going to live with it not them. It's pretty helpful to have a friend or family with you during consultation. The swelling will take time to settle and you won't look presentable for at least 2-3weeks and that's with makeup. Don't fixating on anything that you think look wrong unless you're in pain. The more stress you're causing yourself the slower you'll heal so take it easy. Especially the first two week everything is very uneven but once it's start going down, everything will be fine. But by all mean, if you're start to worry about something, talk to your surgeon right away because it's very crucial that they fix it while they still can and it's good to hear it from them that's everything's fine for your peace of mind. For me personally, it was so helpful and important to have my husband next to me 24/7 for the first two weeks. He made me feel like everything will be ok and he were right. Ice Ice Ice ladies and gentlemen. You need to Ice it as much as you can especially the first few day right after surgery. Even when you're lazy you need to Ice . You'll thanks yourself later on. Take good care of your incision and try to take shower as soon you're comfortable able to. The more dried blood you wash off your head, the easier the stitches removal will be. And btw, I have like zero pain tolerance and the stitches and stable removal on my forehead was a breeze. There was no pain but just a little uncomfortable because I was so numb up there, hahaha. Not sure about the nose or anything else though so good luck. Lol. Push yourself to eat, I didn't eat for a few days and I feel horrible but the moment I started eating, oh man, I felt so much better and I feel like my wound heal faster too. So try to eat when you can. Baby food and Ensure are only good for so far you know. You can brush your teeth like a week after but be very gentle and make sure you always use that mouth rinse that the surgeon gave you every time you eat if you have any incision in your mouth to avoid infection. After two week, warm Luke salt water will do the trick. Last but not least, try to get Arnica Montana , talk to your surgeon about it because it helped me so much with bruises and swelling. So good luck and I'll updating you guys probably a month later. Ciao??????

One month Post op

ani92
So it had been a month and let's me tell right off the bat that this isn't easy. Day 30 and I'm still going at swelling. Let's start from forehead down to my jaw shall we? As you can see in the pic, the incision have been healing pretty nicely but on my right side, it's a little more messier as far as the way my surgeon stitched it up. It kinda disappointed me a little since I had such a high expectations from him that I thought he would make both side some what equal but with that being said, he did warned me that my incision would be somewhat zigged and not even to imitating the natural hairline and it might be red with scabs so I don't know yet. And I also have to say that in the middle of my hairline the scar seem a little scary to me since it look pretty heal but raised up a little so We will see. For maintaining, I think normal shampoo and conditioner should be ok after 3 weeks. Just watch out for any irritation and be gentle at it. Pat on it instead of scrubbing in the front to avoid any irritation. Towel dry well before apply any oilmen and it would help if the oilmen have scar benefit in it. They sell it at any pharmacy, I like neosprint. After three weeks I don't wear the bandage around my incision inside the house anymore , but I still do when I go outside just to avoid infection since I'm very cautious. Lol. As far as my eyes goes, the bruises had completely went away, thanks to arnica. ???? The blood shot still there but getting drastically better. for anyone that have nose job or cheek implant done, the only advice I could give you is leave it alone. Don't be to rough with it cause you won't see the result till the swelling goes down anyway. Clean it and make sure you be gentle so it will heal nice. The jaw probably the most swollen but less painful one. I can eat pretty normal now and everything. The only thing that I'm annoy at is the swelling but other than that, thing definitely looking up after a month. Btw, eat as much fish and protein and healthy food as possible, it'll help I will keep you guys updating as time goes by.

I suppose Arnica, Vitamin-C (500mg) & Bromelain - two weeks before and 2 weeks after surgery would help swelling also? :) my surgery is in couple weeks xx hope you have a speedy recovery! :)
December 23, 2016
I'm not sure about before cause I'm only did it after. But I heard that it'll help just make sure you go through it with your surgeon and ask what does he think. Vitamin before trip is pretty important to keep your immune system up but don't over do it since it cause nose bleed if you over do, at least that's what I heard. I'm not sure about bromelian. Never heard about it. But now I'm curious
December 24, 2016
Hi Venus, I looked into bromelian and I think it's very risky to use it 2-3 weeks prior to your surgery since it'll make you more likely bleed. So please ask your surgeon and be safe. Good luck
