Back from Boston from having an eight year...

Back from Boston from having an eight year anguishing and tormenting lower lid big bugged eyed giant round eyed retraction!
Dr.Yaermchuk knows that being aggressive to ones face is not the way to go.
He performed a canthopexy perfectly -just the exact amount I needed done. Not high up in the corners, not too low neither. While I am still recovering, I've always been a slow healer.. I know my own eyes and I can honestly say I can see myself again in the mirror! Dr.Y is a great guy with lots of patience, especially with me- too which I am very grateful.
Canthopexy is the less invasive eye surgery then the more invasive canthoplasty -which I have quotes from other p.surgeons in the sum of twenty five thousand dollars to repair my lower lids. ,because I knew I didn't need such a big invasive eye surgery, definitely, obviosly canthopexy was my best option..
I'm so grateful, I shouldn't have waited 8 years to get my eyes done by him.
I am also going back to Dr. Y for him to do a reverse brow lift on me before the summertime.
I would post befores and afters..if only I had just one picture of me before...I never took any, never let anyone take any. If I ever come across one,I will certainly put a before and after pix,I do know just how important pictures are- I've searched through them for eight years, now I'm free.

I really have no patience-

I've always been a very slow healer..its very frustrating, their is no pain at all,a bit uncomfortable-lets be real.
By looking at my photos, just imagine the center of my eye dropped -or drooped down to notice the white part of my eye.Not much it was about 2mm -without juvederm in my cheeks to give my lower lid a boost.
So as you can see my lower lid was picked up VERY LITTLE because Dr. Y knew that's all I needed.
Sorry no before pictures. I looked very very bad,my eyes were so close to my nose because of my lower lid retraction that my nose even looked twice the size.
This is all due from an overly aggressive lower blepharoplasty -a fat transfer and to top that all off a chemical peel under my eyes that hurt so bad I thought I was going to pass out. Of course not being knowledgeable and thinking that I had done all my homework not only on my Doctor but on websites including Realself, I dont believe enough women are actually aware of these complications when they want to have eye surgery. For eight years I have read at the very least dozens and dozens of people that are completely devastated, in hiding because of such humiliation or try more and more surgeries to fix their eyes. It's taken me a very long time, years to take a leap of faith and hopefully start living my life again.
Looking forward to my reverse brow lift -another surgery done at the same time as my lower bleph. Both surgeries I have deeply regretted, life altering that just broke my soul.
Please do your research and make sure you absolutely can't live with some bags and wrinkles. Dozens and dozens sure wish we had. Best of luck to whoever is reading this post.

Sosad4me - Please, please, let me know when you get a reverse brow lift. You sound very much like me. My brows seem to just keep getting higher, leaving a hollow eyed look and definitely a "I've had surgery,' look.

You have gorgeous almond shaped eyes though! Lucky you on that Ursulane!-
I was on my 3rd brow reverse! Can you believe?
First one thirteen thousand- did nothing.
Second one ten thousand -Dr Y- looked gorgeous for 48 hours- didn't hold. .. I cried like a baby.. seeing myself again after 7 years then have my brows creep back up into that ugly unnatural position I almost died.. Dr Yaremchuk in Boston did the surgery over again but it's not the same..
My brows are a bit lower but not the same.
Before Dr Y did surgery at all he told me the reverse might not look much different but I didn't care - anything had to be better then the way I was.. I'm not even 50% better but I'm glad I had it gone - I'm no worse- I'm alittle better- that was all I asked for if anything at all.
Stitches behind hairline- ear to ear stitches- very thin not wide- two hanging bulbs from scalp after surgery to reduse swelling , bulbs in for about 24-48 hrs- stitches out in one week- high tolerance to pain - none at all- not one piece of hair loss.. not a shred of hair..
huge forehead before reverse/ flat long shiny - a forehead you could land a plane on -/ after reverse-forehead much smaller with some beautiful wrinkles that I now love..
7 years ago Dr "Jokono" ruined my eyes as well only adding more of a distorted look to the distorted browlift he gave me -trying to have my eyes fixed along with my reverse brow lift didn't work out as planned (of course)..
Dr Y in Boston really is the only surgeon that could reverse a brow lift.. other Drs claim to but their technique is to reduce the forehead. Dr Y's technique is to bring the brows back down into their natural position.
"Make me heal" website forums search Dr Y Boston - there's numerous women who had a reverse by him on that site.
See a derm for cortisone shots- they did wonders for my bald spot that Dr "Jokono" did to me.
Did you have a coronal lift? Sometimes that's not as easy to reverse if you had skin removed.
If you come across a surgeon who does "real" reverses fill me in - although I've had 3 of them - I won't be happy until my medial brows are down completely and back where they belong.. but right now I'll take what I could get..
Best of luck to you!!!

Thank you so much for replying, sosad4me. I had a coronal lift when I was only 39. And, no, I didn't need it. It was 'sold' to me "promising it should be done now while I was still 'young enough." I was so naive. Actually, my brows were not THAT bad after the coronal. What really disfigured me was the endoscopic brow lift U underwent 7 years later. I do NOt know what I was thinking. The endoscopic lift ruined the shape of my eyes m. They are completely void of any volume. So, with that being said, do you think Dr. Y could help me? Thanks again! I'm happy you were improved somewhat. I've read your posts and I know exactly what you've been going through. I feel so stupid and ashamed.
April 15, 2017
Same here! It ruined the whole shape of my upper face.. when your brows are extended your eyes lose volume- yes. I understand.
Go to Dr Yaremchuk's website-Click down menu-Procedures & revisional brow-lifts.. look at their eyes before and afters.. Wish I could get a hold of one of these girls.. they might be one of them on make me heal website who's raved about her reverse.
Nightmares of me walking into surgery with dr Joke ono haunts me every moment of everyday. Naive is an understatement right?

Thank you, sosad4me. I will check out Dr. Y's website. Yes...naive is an understatement. I'm thinking, gullible, foolish, slow, unconscious/comatose, etc. I wonder if I'll ever get out of bed, look at myself, and be happy that I'm back. I've returned. Thank you.

Sosad4me: So, if I'm following the surgical dates correctly, you had a canthopexy from Dr. Y first, right? You've probably already mentioned the recovery period for that here somewhere but could you tell me if you are still happy with the results? Your problems seem to mimic mine so closely. Thank you. I try to let go of this ongoing nightmare but every time I see a picture of myself, another small piece of me dies.
April 17, 2017
My canthopexy helped but my left eye has dropped again. He actually gave me my money back on that surgery because I was so afraid to have a revision on my eyes.. who knows what kind if any complications I would endure from that. My reverse helped my forehead a lot - it's no longer a runway- my brows have gone down very little but it's better then nothing- my eyes look a bit "googly" because of where my brows are and still sitting ...but I'll take it !! better then before any surgery- my lower lid retraction and the canthopexy helped my right eye only.
Seems like I'm half way back to normal! Seems like Dr Y really messed up so many women on this site- over correcting or too much implants- If anything Dr Yaremchuk under corrected my surgeries but I'd rather under corrected then over any day..
So what is it about your brow lift? Your eyes? Brow lifts could make someone's eyes look all googly and round. An ocular probably wouldn't help- you might run into complications be careful- lots of Drs out there aren't even aware that where the brows sits will have have a big effect on the shape of the eyes. Good luck

Hi sosad4me - I just read this. How does one get a notification of a response on here? Accompanied by the over elevated brows, I have 'skeletonized' eyes, seriously. This has continued to get worse with each passing year. Then, I began having terrific problems with my eyes not closing when I slept. I had also noticed the outer corners if my eyes looked to be sagging. So, in 2013, I had eye surgery at Vanderbilt Eye Institute by an occuloplastic (teaching- academic) doctor. (?). She absolutely RUINED me. She performed a 'transcutaneous' (incision on outside) canthoplasty and midface (supposedly to support the eyelids). This left me truly deformed. My eyes were horribly PULLED down. I now had true ectropion on both eyes. She even said when she saw me, "you look worse than you did." I have since learned that doing eyelid and midface surgery transcutaneously put you at a much higher risk of experiencing ectropion. Now why would a doctor, trying to correct ectropion, use an approach that puts one at a higher risk of developing ectropion? I waited 3 long years before I had the nerve to go under the knife again. My eyes look better but I still have rounded eyes, the left eye is beginning to drop, and I still have scleral show. I think even with that being said, if I could get my brows lowered, I wouldn't look so freakish. I so miss myself.

My heart dropped when you wrote you had eye surgery again only to have another surgeon ruin you more. That is a horrible story- I'm sick just reading that I have to say. I'm so sorry that happened to you. Wanted to tell you Dr Y fixes endoscopic brow lifts - - not coronal-seems like you had both? Correct me..
Also - yes brow lifts if raised to high your eyes are effected and I know what you mean about round eyes- I have dolls eyes- they call it- I'm in the middle of trying to find an eye surgeon in NY to correct it- my eyes burn, everything's blurry- I look ridiculous- at least Dr Y gave me my smaller forehead back- I have wrinkles on my forehead that I embrace now- I looked so frozen and my forehead was a long runway-my brows aren't where I'd like but it's better then not having his surgery at all I suppose. I also heard never to get a midface cheek lift to hold up lower lids.. I literally get scared when I look in the mirror- my eyes are small and pinned and surgical looking. It's horrible- I can't see ME anymore- she's gone..we put so much faith & trust into these Drs - so sad.
P,s.- lowering brows helps put the almond shape back and having a good eye surgeon that fixes retracted lids helps the brow position better as well.
God speed- peace.

Sosad4me - I didn't answer your question above. I had ectropion repair by Dr. Massry. And, while Dr. Massry only promised a 30% improvement, I initially had what I considered closet to 100% improvement. However, the left eye has dropped and the right eye still shows scleral. Also, underneath the eyes, the skin is bunching when I smile which looks strange. I still think Dr. Massry is a good surgeon. I just think these reconstructive surgeries are extremely complex.

Sorry So long, not sure how to navigate , websites not user friendly and all over the place but to answer your question I had a lower bleph 8 yrs ago along with a chemical peel. Too much fat was removed from my lower lids.
Dr. Yarmchuk in Boston tried a canthopexy but that just made my eyes even worse. I'm hoping to have surgery with Dr. Nakra in Tx. to fix this mess.
Did you consider Dr. Guy Massry?
