Don’t get a canthopexy for Ectropion

Canthopexy fail

$6,000
Whoever has a rounded eye or Ectropion lower lid retraction and gets canthopexy will make your eyes ten times worse- four ocular plastics told me wrong decision for lower lid retraction and doomed to fail. One of my eyes before were worse then the other/ now both eyes are very bad. My eyesight is worse- I look deformed.
Is he even an ocular plastic?
Both brow reverse and canthopexy failed.. he did give it a try. But he should have known better- he really should have known.

Did exactly what he said he would. My canthopexy failed / my brow reverse failed but my forehead came down very nicely I must say.

Shouldn't you be changing your rating from 5 stars to fewer then?
Have you considered seeing Guy Massry or Kenneth Steinsapir in Beverly Hills? They may be able to help. Repudiated to be the best.
Can anyone tell me who does brow lift revision?
Hi sosad
Did you get revision or go for consults with any of the LA docs?
Hope you're hanging in there
I thought you said that the brow lift reversal was a success?

Canthopexy failed

Just an update on my perfect canthopexy that lasted a big couple of months-whoever has lower lid retraction (Ectropion) or rounded eyes do not let a dr perform a canthopexy.. My eyes are much much worse then before- went to 4 ocular surgeons for consults and they said a canthopexy would usually fail with the problem I had..
I look even more ridiculous then before. But of course Dy Y and his staff would say there’s no problem. Wow. Not nice staff lady. Doesn’t make it better knowing your being lied to right to your face to make you out to be someone who has no idea what she’s talking about.
Want to see my estimates on this repair?

I feel sorry for you. May I know who are ocular surgeons you have consulted? What are their solution for you? Have you met Dr.Massry or Dr. Steinsapir? Hope the best for you. Keep strong
If I could only get to calif.
Dr. Prasad,Garden City- Dr. Della rocca NYC-Dr.Beharistani(spelling off) Garden City NY, Dr Rand Rodgers,Manhasset NY - there’s a couple more too- I’d love to go to steinsapir.
Dr B- canthopexy — OUT (I learned the first time, no thank you)
Dr Della-Rocca- lateral canthal strip ...
No spacer graft - -OUT.
Dr. Prasad- everything under the sun - is probably my best bet - I’m afraid everything else will fail - if not the first year maybe 18 months- nightmare from what I’ve read..
OUT- too expensive.
Dr. Rand Rodgers- wouldn’t touch.
Not an option - OUT

Still searching - I think I’m in desperate need of calif.
Good luck- let me know!
Please don't do anything again for mean while. What I have learned from reading answers from Dr.Taban and Dr.Steinsapir, lateral tarsal strip and canthopexy/plasty won't work in long term. You will use up all your resources. I think you need reconstruction. Please go to see Dr.Steinsapir. Be strong! God bless you
Your right I do need reconstruction.. absolutely.. I just made another follow up with Della-Rocca.. I asked him about a spacer graft with whatever he was telling me and he said he didn’t think I needed a spacer graft. At least I think so.. but I’m going back in a week because I can’t walk around disfigured anymore. I’ve read what steinsapir says about reconstructing lower lids as well. I can’t fly out to calif tho. All I know is a canthopexy really did me in.. I can’t believe a dr doesn’t know that a drill hole canthopexy makes Ectropion so much worse. I looked very bad before ,now I literally cry looking in a mirror or reflection for that matter.
What about you?
How are your eyes?
Don't make your decision based on a surgeon. I think you have to gather opinions from different expert oculoplasty surgeons in order to make the most right decision. In most cases like yours, the hammock (orbicularis oculi muscle) & canthal have been damaged by surgery. I don't know with your previous surgeries but in order to make a successful revision the surgeon have to repair each layers including posterior lamellar. I agree with Steinsapir, sometimes you have to travel to get it fixed. But please don't rush into another surgery. I'm also in the same boat with you. There is not a day I don't feel regret for letting myself into this stupid situation. I'm planning to go to california this year to do consultation with several oculoplasty surgeons, but I will not rush into another surgery. Maybe I will start with filler under eyes. Too scared to rush. I understand how you feel and my heart with you. I will pray for you. Keep strong!
Hello , what about Dr. Guy Massary. His retraction surgeries results are long term??
I tried filler under my eyes- it made my eyes look even more pinned and surgical.- I can’t even get Botox anymore-
Thanks for your words- hey where do you live? I’m in NY have you been to steinsapir yet for consult?
I might have to travel to Newport Beach and see Dr George Brennan for a brow reposition.. why are the good ones in California? What are they bred there?
Can someone please tell me what surgeon is known for brow lift reversal procedure? I thought sosad said that it was a success but it wasn’t. I had an endoscopic and mid face lift I need to revise

Honest.

I didn't expect anything more then what he said he could do. He was right.

Very much similar canthopexy did for me too. Totally useless.
