So that first pic is why I was "mental," "hysterical" or on a "witch-hunt" according to some of the less empathetic commenters here on this review. I'm leaning forward, so you can really see how severe the sagging was. Thats what I'm talking about when I say Dr. Yaremchuk made me look like some 50 year old swamp hag. In all the photos up until I got some Voluma, I look dog f$&king ugly. Second and third pic are taken from good angles and good lighting (and blurs out some of the damage) after Dr. Mark E. Richards, who performed a subperiosteal mid face lift and endoscopic browlift. That's what I was talking about when I said I could post a bunch of sexy images that are misleading. If you're considering this procedure, please read about it here on Real Self. There's a lot you need to consider first. Its deep plane, so supposedly the longest lasting, but that also makes it more risky. If you are in the market for this type of lift though, I'd DEFINITELY recommend Dr. Richards over Dr. Yaremchuk (as Dr. Yaremchuk has already injured at least 3 people with his midfacelift, including Persian, who commented somewhere above, and those are just the people who have come forward on this website as I'm sure there are numerous others). Cheeklifts are one of Dr. Richards favorite surgeries, and hes skilled and knowledgable on how to make women beautiful. I heard the same line from Dr. Richards office about how he's never caused permanent nerve injury (which I also heard from Dr. Yaremchuk) only I can honestly say I have no reason to doubt Dr. Richards; however, there are many, many instances and from multiple other individuals as well that lead me to doubt the validity of most of what Dr. Yaremchuk says.

cheeklifts are hard from the little bit I was reading the other day, too. I go back and forth from thinking, since I can only afford on ebut not both, but that doesn't make sense
September 19, 2015
Whoops -- wasn't finished -- only can afford one but not both. Do I want a lower face lift to firm the neckline and jaw more, since that cannot lift the upper face, or will the upper help more. Really i guess I need to figure out how to afford both,.....but anyway, good that you got a great doctor!
September 19, 2015
I probably needed both, too. Or needed a full facelift, but could only afford the cheeklift. Last minute I managed to scrape together extra $ (all loans) to add the brow-lift. Dr. Richards stated the cheeklift also helps with the jaw line looseness, which it did, but it doesnt do as much for the jawline as a full out lower lift would. I paid 7k for just the cheeklift. Worth every penny for the way it greatly improved my perceived quality of life, which had plummeted after Yaremchuk. You see how ugly I was after what he did? He literally aged my face by 10-20 years overnight. I hope this does give others hope that a good doctor can fix some of the cosmetic damage because I certainly felt hopeless with no way out at that time. And society does treat attractive women MUCH differently. I mean look how the Kardashians have dominated Anerican pop culture, and for doing what exactly? People wouldnt even hold my gaze when I went out to the store looking like dog [RS bleep].

Did you ever think of sending you're story to the show botched? They would take you in a second. You're story is heart breaking.
September 19, 2015
LMAO. I tried!!! Dr. Waldman of Lexington Kentucky was the angel who helped me when I needed it most. I have nothing but kinds words to speak about him. But you know what, I'd go on the show in heartbeat if I got a call, LOL.
September 19, 2015
Did you try applying for the show? What was done to you was horrible as well.

Dr. Walkman is a wonderful man. I will ensure you that he will not perform a surgery unless it is needed. I actually saw him a few weeks ago for a consult about my face bc of filler gone wrong. He is an angel and you feel so much better after a visit with him bc he cares. Even though I did not even have a procedure that day because he wanted me to be seen by an orthodontist, I left with a smile. Very ethical Doctor!

Waldman...I hate auto correct.
September 18, 2015
He did an excellent job. Incredible improvement!
September 18, 2015
I know, right? The procedure corrected the upper eyelid hooding and put my cheeks back close to where they had started. Three people thought I had implants, but theres probably still some swelling and I still have the filler, which lasts up to 2 years. Imagine just 2 syringes of voluma in my natural face before Yaremchuk touched it.
September 23, 2015
To this day, I still cannot fathom why he did any of that surgery on you. Do you mean 3 people on here thought you had implants or 3 in real life? BTW I noticed another doctor on Realself, a well known one in Beverly Hills, recommended the Kansas Dr who did your Voluma to a patient in need of a FL revision. It's true what you said about his reputation (least he isn't relying on a "PR machine" as Dr. Y is). I'm sure 2 (maybe even 1) syringe of Voluma would've seen you through before all this.
September 18, 2015
What made you decide on Mark E. Richards? ( I've tried to find out about this doctor on his website but the page won't open?? So Im trying to find out about him but it will from youtube videos.)
September 18, 2015
Word of mouth. The skill set needed in the operating room is different from the one used to self promote, and there isnt always overlap of the two areas. Dr. Richards exceeded my expectations and I'm very happy with his work.
September 20, 2015
He sure did amazing on you, worth the money. Pics 2 and 3 above, your face is heart shaped, looking better than Michelle Pfeiffer.

Personally, I wouldn't go on the show "Botched" even if it was private AND free. I would rather be "Botched" for longer and save my pennies in self-exile while I contemplate my next step. I couldn't warm to either of the doctors on that show. Also, the cases they take on are nothing worse (and in many cases a lot less worse) than what we see here on Realself. Another thing I don't like is how that show cultivates the impression that all bad surgery is done in Mexico, Asia or Europe by 'ghetto' doctors. The majority of the bad results I've seen were produced by board certified doctors (or equivalent) in first world countries. Since most of the patients on Botched are nowhere near as "botched" as the people here on Realself - I don't see what the "shock" factor is on that show. There was a show in this country called "Botched Up Bodies" - they showed at least 2 cases of faces being eaten away by infection. In contrast, the "Botched" docs turned down the most difficult cases (e.g. the one with cement in her face/breasts and a lady who got work done by Filipino doctors after she was in an accident) - it was evident that they both needed major facial revisions, but they made up excuses in both cases. The patients on that show are probably required sign a NDA (or something to that effect) and if their revisions are unsuccessful, I doubt they make the final cut.
September 24, 2015
Sorry. This was supposed to be a reply to the comment about the show "Botched" at the bottom.
September 24, 2015
Ahhhhh, I commented below to OnTheBeach, and it popped to the top as well. I had submitted my application for Botched many months back before the revisiond. Hopefully this bit of news will also give hope to those who have been damaged. @Unoq, from the little I've seen, I'd have a better chance if I were a pornstar, an outrageously large breasted woman, or a transgendered individual. I totally agree with most of what you said, though. This entire past year has been an exercise in humiliation and degradation, so whats one more act of publicly debasing myself to get the facelift I still need? I probably am more like a vanilla case of botched now and less likely to be cast.
September 24, 2015
Ok, so ironically I DID get a call from the casting director for Botched season 3 just days after the comment above. I'd have had a DAMN GOOD shot before Dr. Waldman in Kentucky (who did my filler) and Dr. Richards in MD (who did the cheek/brow lift). Now I dont think my face has the same shock value as it did after Dr. Yaremchuk.

midfacelift, browlift

Thank God for the talented doctor who did my midface lift without permanently injuring a single nerve despite the more complicated nature of what was done. I still have the abnormal mouth movements and twitching, courtesy of Dr. Yaremchuk; but what this new doctor did was amazing.

You look amazingly beautiful, stunning, movie-star gorgeous. I am so glad your final result was this good. Your cheeks look perfect, your whole face looks so good, you suffered soo much and taught so many of us a lesson of caution, grateful to you. Hugs from the heart. You are so beautiful.
August 22, 2015
thanks for your kind words! they mean a lot to me : )
August 22, 2015
Beautiful! I just read all of the horror you have been through. I am so sorry for all of your suffering and anguish and so relieved to see that you are gorgeous once again. Glad you found a doc who was talented and honest after dealing with the terrible nightmare you have had. Lots of love to you!! xo
August 22, 2015
Thanks! Since the cheeklift, 5 random strangers have commented on my appearance. As long as I can remain mute, no one realizes theres something the matter with me. But once I open my mouth to speak, that illusion is shattered. At least Im somewhat attractive and neurologically damaged now instead of ugly and neurologically damaged.

oh, there is so much pain and regret in your answer, but that is OK, few of us could walk in your shoes, few are as beautiful as you, I never was! A small flaw in a diamond makes it no less sparkle. Other people don't even have to open their mouth and the whole illusion is shattered. We were not meant to be perfect but to accept others as they are, flaws, shortcomings and all, especially accept our selves and try to see the true, divine beauty within each one of us. It is hard to do that but we have to practice. Maybe reading a book such as "On my own two feet" can help for now until your muscles coordinate better and you feel normal again. Good night, stay positive always.
September 15, 2015
Wow I agree, what a talented doc! You look so pretty. And it's true, few of us get to be that pretty, I hate my ugly face all the time, so remember that. Leopard what an eloquent comment, I will have to look for that book and hope it helps until I can afford a good doctor.
September 15, 2015
Thanks! I bet you're considered beautiful by many different people. It's like with my little guy. Everytime I look at him, my heart fills with love and he's perfect to me. I'm sure you're perfect to someone else.

September 11, 2015
Thanks. I had completely lost all hope this past winter. I still have nerve damage and I'll never be as beautiful as I could of been, but the cheek/brow lift made a big improvement! If I dont have to talk, then I feel ok.

I can relate to how you feel because at one time I had a very similar experience with the wrong type of filler being injected in my nasolabial folds which seemed to cause pressure around the filler in my lips. It resulted in slurred speech and caused me to appear as if I had a stroke. People looked at me as if I was crazy when I tried to order dinner or have a casual conversation. It was a different experience than being looked at because I lost my hair due to cancer or was in a wheelchair because of a car accident. However I recognize that my issue was temporary as filler is. Like you said...it's all about the injector. Is this nerve damage permanent and are there any type of options (therapy) available to improve your speech? You have came so far. You are a very strong and beautiful lady. I am happy to see you smile in this picture. You have a very pretty and unique face shape. It looks even more beautiful with a smile. Keep in mind that your story is helping others.
September 19, 2015
Hi, Fara. Yes. It's permanent. He knocked out 2 muscles on the right lower area where the nasal implant across my jaw is. Both my depressor anguli oris and my depressor labii oris are not working properly. Even with the botox, when I smile very wide, you can see how it remains raised. What's worse is the damage to the left buccal nerve, producing synkinesis, which actually is bilateral: when either of my eyes clenches shut, the ipsilateral mouth corner will raise up. And it twitches constantly on the left just with normal blinking. That side of my mouth pulls to one side when I talk. And you're right: it's not like being in a car accident or wheelchair where people are more sympathetic. It's the humiliation of looking like some plastic surgery train wreck. I did read on another site that a different patient of Dr. Yaremchuk's had to tell people they were in a car accident. I should try to figure out a way to explain the damage so I'm not humiliated but as it stands I have to avoid most of the people I've known prior to yaremchuk's botched job. Better just to disappear than to return a laughing stock in a state of physical ruin.
September 19, 2015
I thought about trying to get some filler to blur out the nasolabial fold and marionette line to put of the 3rd lift, which I'm inevitably going to need now. Which one works best in those areas and will last a decent amount of time?

Wow, amazing reconstructive surgery! Gorgeous! Who is this new doctor? Thank God for this doctor, who is he?

THe midface lift has really made you look youthfull, contoured the jowling and made you look full in the cheeks? Not sure if Im correct. Can you share with us with the midface lift has specifically done to improve your face?

typo...I meant to say...." Can you share with us how the midface lift has specifically done to improve your face?"

I don't even know what to say other than I feel terribly bad for what was done to you...
August 21, 2015
The sad thing is, everything you said from the outset (dismissed by a handful of vocal commentators who shall remain nameless) turned out to be correct. Let's see what excuses those people will scrape from the bottom of the barrel now.
August 22, 2015
You absolutely do not look like a man.
August 22, 2015
Its the small still picture, not the video, that shows the masculinization. The video is after 10k in revisions.
March 23, 2016
I'm sorry to read that you had a bad experience with Dr. Y. :( I'm a male patient who is strongly considering going to him for chin, jaw, and possibly cheek implants in order to get a more masculine, chiseled, defined look.... but now I'm beginning to have second thoughts. In your opinion, do you think Dr. Y could be a good choice for a male patient who wants a more masculinizing procedure performed?
