WORTH IT
Another comparison of 1 vs 4 months, and a view of a spot on my right nipple that' shot me concerned. It started as a light colored bruise and has evolved into a reddish looking blister that's peeling a bit. Fat necrosis or another stitch trying to escape?

Almost four months post
Just wanted to drop in and do a quick update. I have been healing well and experienced a steady increase in comfort and activity level in the weeks following my surgery. The spot I mentioned in my last post did turn out to have stitches poking out, and once the surgeon removed those it healed up very quickly. Overall I am very satisfied with my results, although I would still like to loose about 50lb, I am much happier in my own skin. I think the pictures really illustrate just how swollen I was in the beginning, and the difference between now and then in terms of shape is significant!

Looking for input on the incision under my right breast, looks a little red and angry--do you think I should be seen? Be putting neosporin on it?

I would say get seen. I had a lot of problems with my healing, and stayed close to my doctor so that swift action could give me the best possible outcome under the circumstances. If you delay it could get worse.
Thanks, I sent him an email and pic...wonder if he'll check it over the weekend?
I am three weeks post op and I went for a visit to my primary care doc yesterday. I am healing but slowly and very tired. She recommended drinking whey protein, she said it would make me stronger and protein helps heal. My PS told me that also...might help while your waiting to be seem. I also am having trouble with the bras....no easy answer there. Hope your feeling better soon.
I will have to try that!
Great idea, it does help to feel like I am being proactive!
I would probably call your PS and try to be seen. Even if all is normal it will help ease your mind and they can give you suggestions on how to treat it.
Yes, I agree about the mind-easing. Just need to get over the feeling that I am bothering them! I sent an email, not sure if it gets checked over the weekend, though...
Don't worry you won't be bothering them. I would imagine emails would not be checked on the weekend, you really should call them today. If it is the start of an infection, the sooner you get treated the better.
I don't think that they mind if you bother them. They are there to help you. A couple of times I went to our after hours doctor which also helped.
Yes, I need to remember that and not be intimidated. I think because it's my boobs (embarrassing my whole life it seems) I feel more shy about asking for what I need. Silly, I know, I'm a big girl and I did pay for aftercare as well!
Yep. I think sometimes I wonder If they think I am asking stupid questions. But they have not made me feel that way. The PS, nurse and physician assistant always tell me to call anytime with any questions..that they are always here. Then I think that my PS "made these look this good" so he does have an interest in my healing process as well. Glad your PS was not concerned. Is it getting better?!
I think it does look more swollen. I also don't like how the T section looks. I am thinking I see some redness as well. I agree with Charlie get your PS out of his weekend to look at your picture etc. Have you taken your temp?
Regarding the swelling I took Arnica for it in pill form and as cream but do NOT put on fresh wound. I massage it around the incision and it helped pretty good.
I was told that if I am overdoing it one of my breast would swell more than the other.
As far as the alcohol goes I wouldnt drink anything but that said that's just me. If you off your pain killer and antabiotics you could have alcohol. Really up to you at this point. I hope your healing will soon get better. CALL your PS if you don't see an answer to your email. My PS always stressed how important it is to tell him if something is up early rather than wait and it be more trouble.
Thanks for your comment, I did hear back from my PS and he wasn't concerned by the picture, just said to put neosporin on it. I will give the arnica cream a try, have been taking the tablets but haven't noticed much difference.
Hope you get that sore spot sorted out. I think you look really great overall. Congratulations! i really get what you say about '[RS bleep]', I think I will have to come up with a better word for mine after the op. I think the words we use convey a lot about how we feel. I have 'big [RS bleep]' engraved on my memory too!
Thank you! I like tatas in place of [RS bleep] or [RS bleep], which when it comes down do it makes me think of a fat old sow. I also sometimes call them beeboos, which comes from my daughter mispronouncing booby as a two year old :)
