8 days to go.........

I spent this past weekend running around to stock up on some of the things I'll need to keep my home running smoothly. I have several cats, so knowing I wont't be able to lift anything heavy for a while, I bought many, many 25lb boxes of kitty litter. I am also picking several 10lb bags and a few cases of food. I also ordered some waterproof bed pads to protect my bedding/mattress in case one of the drains leak. The nurse at the facility went over things with me and advised me to get a few pairs of "granny panties" that were nice and roomy. She also suggested soft, comfortable dresses because jeans/pants are too difficult to deal with. I haven't worn dresses for years and pulled out a few I had kept from years ago. I had really liked them and kept them hoping they would fit again "someday" and was so happy to see that they now fit again! I'll spend this week wrapping up as much as I can at work and am lucky that I can oversee some of the things while I'm recuperating at home. 8 days and counting.....

After losing over 100lbs over the last 10+years, I...

After losing over 100lbs over the last 10+years, I have finally gotten the courage to get a LBL. I have been lurking on this site for the last few months and have to thank everyone for the enormous amount of info. You are all so brave, and I hope to be just as brave as the day gets closer. I have compiled a list of things to get based on the information people have shared. I ordered a walker, a toilet seat riser with arms and a hip height bath chair. I was going to get a lift chair but really don't have the room for it. My bed is higher than normal which I think will make it easier to get in and out. I have a recliner built into my sectional although it is a bit lower and might be a problem getting up and down. I also have a list of things to get at CVS and/or other stores. This is the list: Nunn tablets for electrolytes, Arnica Montana and Bromelain for swelling, polysporin, Vaseline, Pads, Laxative, Vitamins(c,d), gas x, Extra strength Tylenol, Enema, Miralax, and non stick pads. I am also going to look into getting Embrace scar strips and having lymphatic massages when ready. I never heard of the latter and will talk to my PS about it. I am going to have extra pillows as well. Is there anything else any of you can suggest? I got a large breakfast tray to put over my mid section when I'm in bed because my cats are constantly jumping on me. That's the last thing I'll need to happen! I really appreciate all of the advice in the posts that I've already read. Scared but trying to be brave:-).
