I gave birth to two girls at the end of September,...

I gave birth to two girls at the end of September, 2013. Sasha was 7 lbs, Sophia was 6.5 (which is pretty big for twins!). I was full term and had gained 70 pounds total. When I was all done, I had major diastasis recti (separation of my abdominal muscles) plus a ventral hernia. And you wouldn't believe the SKIN I had hanging off of me! My ab separation was so severe I still looked 4 months pregnant and the hernia made me look like a large ice cream sundae with a cherry on top! And the SKIN! I looked and felt terrible. I was worried about going out in public and people asking me how far along I was in my pregnancy...even though I wasn't pregnant. And I was really worried about what I would wear once I went back to work after my 3 month maternity leave. Nothing fit and you could see everything.

My OB recommended Dr. Chacon right away and he jumped right in, making me feel comfortable and (most importantly) normal. He was very clear about the procedure and said we could get moving right away. I really wanted to get this done before I went back to work, with a chance to have 2 weeks of recovery.

The surgery went very well, everything is flat, no more hernia, no more separation of the abs..and the SKIN is all gone (yay!). I know have normal skin, normal tummy.

The recovery was a little harder than I thought it would be, I was afraid to stand up straight for the first week, it felt like I was going to tear, but the stitches were strong in my tummy and he did a double row in my abs, so nothing popped and slowly it got easier and easier. I did go back to work 2.5 weeks after surgery, so that says a lot. I just wore my binder for a full 6 weeks and will keep tape on my incision for a total of 3 months.

Dr. Chacon and his staff are truly awesome. Iris and Daniel are super friendly and Irina is so sweet, I really enjoyed working with all of them. Everyone made me feel special!

Please see my review above, Dr. Chacon was very friendly and I was impressed with how much he REALLY cares about you and your outcome. He truly wants you to feel (and look) your best. It was awesome having someone work and think so hard about me. And the extra nice bit is that he wasn't pushy at all. He mentioned having some lipo since we were going in for a big surgery and I could definitely use a little on my back, but I said no thank you and he never pushed it again. That really meant a lot.
