I met with several surgeons, all qualified board certified plastic surgeon's most with a better pedigree of academic credentials than Dr. Fisher. However, Dr. Fisher took added time and gave me the confidence I needed to perform the bodytite & vaser lipo.

First let me start that as a child I had a traumatic and emotionally scaring procedure going under. I was most concerned about general anesthesia and in consultation with others they simply waived it off stating that anesthesia has come a long way since my childhood. Dr. Fisher, like others, wanted to perform the procedure under general but after understanding my reluctance she agreed to discuss with the anesthesiologist (Dr. Sun) and we came up with a plan. That showed a remarkable amount of empathy.

Day of Procedure: The procedure went smoothly, I have very limited recollection of it but most of the time I was awake and could talk. I asked for breaks and Dr. Fisher gave me some time. She estimated 4-5 hours for the procedure and it took 6 hours (likely because she had to go slower with me). After the procedure I was discharged about 45 mins later (after I could urinate). I went home and felt incredibly sore when I try to sit up/down. Other than that there really isn't any pain, but wasn't in any condition to do much other than sit in front of TV or in bed. A total of 2.8 liters was removed. I did feel very light headed when standing (fainted once). Took norco and valium at night and went to sleep. Pain level significant 8-9 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 2-3 when sitting or in bed. That night Dr. Fisher followed up with both me and my spouse to make sure everything is all good!

Day 1 (after procedure): Swelling is beginning to set in. Can walk much better today. Pain level significant 8 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 2-3 when sitting or in bed. My garment is annoying - but i feel like it's a present just waiting to be opened. Very optimistic about the results and excited to see the new me. I will share pics on weekly basis.

Why Bet on Dr. Orna Fisher? Her empathic virtuosity, artistic vision, perfectionist profile and technical accuracy to set expectations set her apart from the vast majority of doctors that I've interacted with. She is a "make-it-happen" person and unlike many brilliant surgeons, really easy to work with, optimistic and generous with her time.

What's the bottom line?
I'm sharing this without actually seeing my results yet, but I had the privilege of working with many senior industry leaders and learned to identify the qualities that set people apart. I couldn't find another surgeon who would actually get me through the procedure and Dr. Fisher has. Of course the proof will be in the pics and I will gladly share those, but in the interim I felt compelled to give her my highest recommendation!

Day 2 (after procedure): More Swelling. Can walk much better today but still can't stand perfectly straight up. Pain level moderate 6 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 2 when sitting or in bed. Down to 1/2 a norco and 1-2 tylenol every 5-6 hours. Went to the office for a couple hours and then called it a day (hey i got to go outside)

Day 3: Swelling, Swelling + more Swelling. Read up about inflammation, edema... A bit surprised by the shear volume. Scale is +4.5-5lbs from before surgery, no pants fit except sweatpants. Pain level moderate 4 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 1 when sitting or in bed. Today I can get out of bed by myself and stand up from a seated position. Down to just tylenol. Went for a 1.5 mile walk today and doing ok.

Day 4: Added lipo foam in my compression garment - oh what a joy... Scale is +4 lbs from before surgery. Pain level moderate 4 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 1 when sitting or in bed. I have no drains and the vaser lipo technique was used. From what i've read that seems to be the technique that causes the most edema. Dr Fisher doesn't want me to bring the swelling down, except through natural process. I'm in this for the long haul. Estimated 3-4 weeks before any pants I have fit. Down to just tylenol. Went for a 1.5 mile walk today and doing ok.

Day 5: Went to work today, no tylenol or any other drugs... Scale is +2.5 lbs from before surgery. I think swelling has peaked and perhaps deflated in some spots. Swelling moved south in to my groin (enough, i'm not going to talk about that - i have to draw the line somewhere). Pain level moderate 2 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 0 when sitting or in bed occasionally have a jolt here and there. Note to self: Don't laugh - it hurts. Went for a 2.4 mile walk today.

Day 6: Scale is +1.5 lbs from before surgery. Swelling certainly has peaked and is coming down. Pain level mild 1 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 0 when sitting or in bed occasionally have a jolt here and there. Walked 3 miles today. CAN'T wait for edema to subside.

Day 7: Scale is +1.3 lbs from before surgery. Swelling continues to come down. Today I can fit in my fat jeans. New kind of pain... itching sensation. feels like ants crawling on skin. no one minute of it hurts, but it builds!!! . Walked 3.5 miles today. Tomorrow have the follow up and then I can take a shower. CAN'T WAIT to take a shower! I still have no idea what ultimately i will look like.... So time will tell.
