Best Surgeon in Newcastle for Massive Body Transformations!

Dr Moncrieff has been outstanding from start to finish. I am still in the early stages of healing following three surgeries, but even at this point the results are phenomenal. His entire team is professional, organised, and efficient, and the level of care throughout the process has been exceptional.
Dr Moncrieff is not only highly skilled, but genuinely invested in achieving the best possible outcome for each individual patient. He approaches surgery with both precision and artistry - noticing details I hadn’t even considered - while always being able to clearly explain the medical reasoning behind his recommendations. I felt completely confident that every decision was made with both safety and long-term results in mind.
My situation was quite specific. At 34, after losing approximately 80kg (with no pregnancies), my body and skin were very different to the “standard” case. While my skin had been significantly stretched, I still had enough collagen and elasticity to support 300cc teardrop, natural-looking implants. Dr Moncrieff carefully assessed this and tailored his approach to suit my body, not a one-size-fits-all solution.
He offered detailed vector imaging so I could visualise the outcome, but by the time of my third surgery I trusted him so completely that I chose not to use it. I simply asked him to select the implant size and approach that made the most medical and aesthetic sense, knowing I wanted a subtle increase while maintaining a natural result. That level of trust says everything - and also, he nailed it -my breasts look amazing, so happy,
with size/shape/overall result!
I had consulted other surgeons previously, including some based in Sydney, assuming that a city-based practice might be “better.” One Sydney surgeon proposed a single 10–12 hour operation, which immediately raised concerns for me in terms of safety and risk. Without any prompting or knowledge of that consult, Dr Moncrieff independently advised that my procedures should be staged over three surgeries and that he would not plan operations longer than approximately six hours. That reinforced for me that he is a thoughtful, sensible surgeon who prioritises patient safety above all else, something that truly mattered to me, above anything else.
The administrative process was also seamless. Prior to my first appointment, I submitted photos which were reviewed by Dr Moncrieff and the practice manager. I initially met with the practice manager to discuss my goals and receive high-level cost estimates, which ultimately proved very accurate. Once I decided to proceed, I had a consultation with Dr Moncrieff where we discussed my medical history, goals, and the optimal order of procedures. A detailed quote was emailed to me within a week or so by the practice manager.
From there, everything was straightforward - deposits, surgery dates, pre-op appointments, paperwork, and blood tests were all clearly organised. I had top-level private health insurance, which is essential for these procedures, and the coordination between the practice, the anaesthetist, Medicare, and my insurer was smooth and surprisingly simple, including eligible rebate (related to massive weight loss surgery).
I also appreciated the complimentary LED light therapy sessions offered post-operatively, which felt like a thoughtful extra and a genuine investment in scar healing. Post-op care was excellent, with follow-ups at one week, three weeks, and six weeks after each surgery. I also received wonderful care from the surgical nursing team at Lingard Hospital.
Overall, I am incredibly happy with my results and deeply grateful to Dr Moncrieff and his team. My experience was consistently positive - no complications, no confusion, and clear, professional care at every stage. I followed all pre- and post-operative instructions closely (SUPER IMPORTANT!), and I truly believe that following the instructions combined with Dr Moncrieff’s expertise is what led to such a positive outcome.
I would confidently recommend Dr Moncrieff to anyone considering body or breast surgery, particularly patients following massive weight loss.
In my view, he is the best plastic surgeon in Newcastle for these procedures.
