Medial thigh and glute lift with mini abdominoplasty and liposuction to knees.

WORTH IT$15,400
On May 20, 2021 I had a medial thigh/ glute lift, mini abdominoplasty (skin excision only) and liposuction to the knees. Dr Shermak and the staff are amazing and made a very involved surgery seamless and laid the groundwork for a speedy and as comfortable a recovery as possible. While recovering I had lots of time to think about how life changing this process has been and shared this with Dr Shermak.
Dear Dr. Shermak,
I want you to know how truly grateful I feel to have found you. It all started with a girls weekend during a pandemic. What to do? Nothing but sit in a beach house and watch Netflix. We stumbled on Skin Decisions with Dr. Sheila Nazarian. They both know the weight loss struggles I had from a very young age and how it emotionally shaped me up to this point. They were determined to get me on that show. Lol I told them they were crazy..... over the last 16 years I had two very reputable doctors from DC to Delaware tell me they thought it wouldn’t be worth it. The DC doctor told me I may just consider a tummy tuck (which wasn’t even on my radar and made me think “what the heck”), and the Delaware dr was being cautious knowing how tough a recovery it can be and was afraid I wasn’t in need of such a big surgery. (Both were only considering the cut from inner thigh to knees, no other options) After being turned down because I “hadn’t lost 300 pounds and could live with what I had” I felt hopeless, but told myself to let it go. Two great docs had given the exact same opinion so I trusted them and respected their opinions. Over a 20 year period I changed everything, all in hopes of making the skin tighten. I did everything right from changing my diet to all things fitness. Everyone always just said give it time, it’ll tighten up. I knew very well deep down that wouldn’t ever happen. I had lost nearly 100 pounds twice, once at 14 and once at 20..... I had done the damage already. After that girls weekend, my one girlfriend started researching this for me. She was determined to find someone that would help me. Within 1 day she sent me your name. I was floored. You were 30 minutes away and little did I know at the time, this is your thing!! You walked into the room and saw what the consult was for and cheerily said “oh a thigh lift. This is one of my favorite procedures, here I wrote a book on it.” I am not sure what my reaction was but inside my head I was so caught up in my emotions. You didn’t dismiss what I saw and validated my thoughts. YOU WERE THE ONLY ONE! (And you had great jewelry, ha!)
All while I may not have lost 300 pounds or something so massive, I had still accomplished so much with changes to my body within my control. I thank God for you for fixing what was beyond my control. I am so excited to see what keeps changing over the next several months. You have changed my life, and I’m truly grateful. I know your office schedule is busy which doesn’t allow extra time for chit chat, but I didn’t want to neglect expressing my thoughts to you.

13 days post op and I’m feeling great

This has been the best day I have had so far. I have tried to be the best patient ever and just rest rest and rest some more. I take little walks around the house every hour or so but for the most part I’ve tried to just take it easy 90% of the time. I noticed the days that I try to push myself a little bit more, the following day I don’t seem to progress any. If I just stay in bed and rest up the following day I am able to do so much more as far as my movement. There is still definitely some swelling but it’s really not all that bad. I will remove the tape from my incision the day after tomorrow and start to apply scar cream. I am very interested to see what is under there. This is all gone so well. My doctor is a master at her craft!

Did you have fat transfer to your butt or just lift w autoaugmentation?
June 5, 2021
I had no fat transfer. I asked Dr Shermak what it's specifically called and she said it's often called a lower back lift (I'm guessing because the incision is at the lowest point on the back) or a glute lift. It's amazing so far!
