I have definitely not been great about updating pictures…… As I’ve gotten back into working out, I was taking pictures this morning and it just hit me all of a sudden how different I really look. It has definitely taken time but I often can’t believe that that is the same body. That surgery was a lot of work and very uncomfortable at times in the very beginning but I would do it all over again. And Dr. Shermak is just absolutely the best.

You look great. May I ask if the groin incision crease has migrated downwards at all? Did it open up or have problems healing? Can you cover the scar it in a bikini or is it too low to conceal?

On one side, it’s slightly lower. It’s still not visible in a bathing suit though. Only if I’m really looking for it can I can see it in little underwear but not a bathing suit. It’s barely pink on one side and the other side is perfect. Both sides are completely flat and healed extremely well. I had no issues anywhere with anything opening up. It was a rough recovery, but I wouldn’t hesitate in doing it again for the outcome I have had.

7 weeks post op!

I was 7 weeks post op last Thursday. What a huge difference a week makes in the healing process. At week 6 I was allowed to work out but ok’d barely bend over to put a shoe on. After just a week I can do so much more with ease. There is still a lot of swelling at times. I just put my compression garment on and that helps a ton. Because of the swelling I have noticed my weight fluctuating a lot. I don’t really look or feel different but I can tell it’s a lot of fluid at times. I am told it can take months for all of the swelling to really go away. It really takes a lot of patience during this process. Here are a few updated pictures of my scars. They are so completely flat. You can’t even feel them when you run your finger across. It’s only been seven weeks and I know that it can take months for the scars to go away. That I am not worried about. I am confident that they will fade nicely.
