Lower Body Lift with lipo and fat transfer to butt and breast. Vertical Thighplasty with Dr. Siamak Agha, Newport Beach

47 year old mom of three. I had a previous mommy makeover 10 years ago with another surgeon. I had mixed results and was left with a “sad face” TT scar and a belly button that was large and round. After reading many reviews I went in for a consult with Dr, Agha to discuss a lower body lift and possible thigh lift for a sagging backside. He was warm and patient with my questions but also honest about what this endeavor is really like. I am currently 10 days post op and I appreciate all the honesty so I could plan accordingly. I opted for at home 24 hr. after care for 3 days with nurse visits an additional 4 days. I live alone and my boyfriend has been helping me since then. You will need a lot of help. So plan this in advance. Meal prepping and having all your meds organized in the weekly pill containers have been very helpful. I purchased a lift recliner and a boppy pillow (saves your sore bottom). I also have an adjustable bed which I have just switched over to.
I went into surgery early on 11/26 and it took 8 hours for him to complete all my procedures. I woke up in recovery and after a few hours the after care nurse transported me home and set me up in my recliner. I don’t remember too much of the first day except being very grateful for the nurses who were super sweet to me and kept me comfortable, fed, walking every few hours, and great company. The pain was bad, but not as bad as the first BM which I will get to. :) I changed my dressings for my thighplasty and emptied drains and slept a lot the first 6 days. Dr. Agha sends you home with a wound vac and it was applied the next day by the nurse on the back side of the bodylift just above my butt. It percolates and applies negative pressure on the wound continuously to promote faster healing. He also sent me home with a pain pump you have attached for the first 5 days. Unfortunately, I was allergic to the plastic tape for that and developed some nasty blisters that became open weeping wounds that are now drying up. Best tools I have found so far: A rolling bedside table, having lots and lots of paper tape, ABD pads, alcohol wipes, bacitracin single use packs, scissors, stool softener (put it in your pill organizer to start right away) a small fridge with water and protein shakes. A walker, a raised toilet seat with handles, a GoGirl stand up urination funnel. (Practice this a few times so you get the hang of the whole stream thing) My labia became very swollen and disfigured for the first few days, so this made peeing in a straight stream very unpredictable. It’s already back to normal. Hardest parts so far: the first week... kind of a blur on OXY.... getting over to Tylenol as soon as possible is recommended. I prefer a clear head and had the weirdest dreams ever on oxy. My pain is manageable with Tylenol and all the zinging and zaps are to be expected as the nerves come back. Drains: keeping them clean, milked, working, comfortable, I have one that quit early near my knee and my leg was so swollen. I’ve been massaging it regularly.
I go in today to see Dr. Agha for my follow up. Hoping we are done with drains and wound vac, so I can shower and wear a compression garment regularly. We will see what he says. I will post more soon.
