I had my TT on Monday July 31st in a hospital with a required overnight per my doctor. On Tuesday I wondered what I got myself into as I felt terrible as I had the sweats and was throwing up due to the morphine. My doctor said it's because I'm a small person 4'11 1/2", 106 lbs. I chose to stay a second night in the hospital and felt like a different person the next day. I saw the doctor today (Friday) and he said I'm healing ahead of schedule and am standing straighter than expected. On Monday he will take out 1 drain and I have a 90% chance he'll take out the other drain. My only pain in my back when I sleep. I had a problem figuring how to get out of bed (getting is no problem as I use a step stool), but I finally figured out sit up first and then put feet off bed. My office is in my home so I'm able to work and use the computer without any problems, but get up periodically to move around since the doctor said the best thing I can do for my self is walk. My appetite hasn't completely come back yet, which I don't feel is a bad thing since I'm not exercising. By the way, I put on shorts today and my stomach is flat even with a little swelling.

Yesterday, Monday was freedom day for me as my tubes were removed. I can now drive and went for a 1 1/2 mile walk this morning. I still am now allowed to go swimming. My only real discomfort is getting in and out of bed, but I had no pain. My doctor admits that he is very conservative which is OK with me. I have band aids where the tubes were and flesh colored tape on the area where he cut, nothing else. Even though I'm still swollen, my stomach is nice and flat and I can get into a lot of my slacks and shorts. I'm so glad I had the surgery.

We are now 5 weeks since my TT. I feel good and since I'm not allowed to run have been doing a fast 4 mile walk 4-5 times a week. I still feel like I'm wearing a steel girdle on my midriff and my stomach has no feeling. My larger slacks now fit me (size 4), but my size 2's do up but are tight over my stomach as you can see the side pockets standing out. I tried on some dresses the other day and they still don't fit quite right and are a little tight just above the area where the stitches are. I have no patience and wrong assumed that all my clothes would fit by now and I would automatically look slimmer. I really enjoy looking at my flat stomach, even it's a bit swollen, and no see my big ugly caesarian scar and my husband says I look great. I'm really looking forward to when I can get into all my clothes with ease and I am not sorry I had the TT done at my age.
