So I went to post op Friday and my lovely nurse (Anika) was super nice and calm as always. I was a nervous wreck as always. She explained cleaning instructions and some recommendations for a new compression garment. I love how his staff is so personable. Professional, but with a family type of nurturing that one doesn't get everywhere. Apparently my stitches will dissolve in my incision so the great news was there wasn't anything to be removed. Yay! She applied some silicone strips and gave me some scar cream stuff to use. I really like the firm feeling the silicone strips give. The dr said it looked good. Gave me permission to pick up my daughter, and wants to see me back in 10 days. Have not had any pain except occasionally my sides are sore when touched or pulling on my compression garment. Haven't intentionally lost weight just been carefully watching my salt and fat intake. I've dropped to 188. Yay! I started wearing a different garment that's tighter to help with my side swelling. I think the other one is now to small. Went to the salon yesterday to get my nails, pedi and wax and it was a tad more than I could handle. The chair I was in during my nail fill was very uncomfortable but I was trying to not make a scene or be obvious. Lol still think this is the best thing I could have done for myself. I just noticed that it appears my upper thighs seem lifted. Among other things.. Very happy with that!

9 days post op and the stitches are out of my belly button. Yayy. Anika my post op care nurse has been awesome. Getting me relaxed and not so nervous. I swear I didn't feel anything, then I was done. Dr Korpeck said I'm healing well and was glad I was getting around a little. I was told to start standing up straight and I'm working on that. Lol kind if a fear ill rip it. Next appt is Friday. I believe the incision stitches come out then.. Yikes! Still swollen and the dr said it would take a few months. I did try on a bathing suit and dress.. Cute! Already notice a dramatic difference. Looking forward to the next few weeks..

I forgot to mention I went into surgery at 195. Today on the scale I was 195 lol I knew better than to weigh myself this soon post op but was just curious. My apron was 5 pounds and I had another 6.6 removed through lipo. So it would be nice to see that on the scale. Wanted to mention that day 4 was a turning point for me. Was much easier to get up, eat, pee, and just get thru the day. By today 6 days post op, I'm walking considerably straighter and for longer distances. I can put on and off my stage 2 compression garment by myself now. It's very tight and has to go on my legs first. I stopped taking my pains medication at 4 days post and stick with an Ibuprofen when I wake up and once today when my back was hurting badly. (That seems to be the worst part for me) I had a post op yesterday and had 1 drain removed and the dressings all changed. I go back tomorrow to remove the left drain and redo the dressings again. And Friday is another post op. I like that he sees me so often to make sure the sites are clean and healing properly. Warning for my pic I'm going to post: lol it's graphic. I was so used to not seeing my goodies that I uploaded a pic with it showing without warning. Sorry. Tonight wil be my first night sleeping in the bed. Looking forward to it so goodnight ;)
