Nearly 10 weeks gone!
szlidMarch 25, 2018
So I will be 10 weeks PO in 3 days time. I had meant to post an update sooner but I didn't feel much had changed with the swelling or the incision since my last post. Things have changed however over the last week or so in that as the swelling has subsided that bit more and I am getting more of an idea of my final shape I am getting this creeping feeling that I may need to have a small revision. I am totally happy with my bb and the muscle repair, which still feels very tight by the way, and my waist which is vastly improved, is nice and small. I do however have some fatty areas at the ends of the incision both sides, which do make me look less 'sleek' than I had hoped for. I particularly notice this from the back, unfortunately this is quite hard to photo, to show what I mean. I think I have gained some weight, I am now 10 stn again. I am watching my weight and keeping up my walking, plus adding in some upper limb and leg strength training so it is possible I am gaining some muscle mass, I am not sure. I am being very careful not to overdo things as I have found my stomach muscles get very irritated and tight if I don't take care whenever I am doing, well, anything at all!!!
I recently had full bloods done and these found my white cell count was down. Not sure if this is anything to worry about, I am having repeats in a few days so I should know more then. I have only just had a period, so I know generally thins surgery has been traumatic on my body.
RE: the fatty bits/ dog ears ( not sure if these qualify as dog ears) muffin top seems better.....I have asked the doctors on here whether they feel a revision of these areas would be reasonable. I really wouldn't mind if my incision was longer, if the trade off was slimmer hips, so I'll have to see what they say. I hope everyone is doing well and happy with their results!! Xx

Hi only just saw this, I replied to your other comment above. Thanks for your lovely comments, reading other peoples journeys really helps me too!! 10 stn is 140 lbs. I would like thigh lipo too as well as other areas but I think it was the lipo that caused me the most swelling and discomfort not the actual TT so much. Happy healing to you, you are going to have a massive change in your appearance after your swelling goes down! Xx

Thankyou for posting your journey on RS. I am right behind you at about 4 weeks today actually. today is the first day I woke up for outdo bed and didn’t feel any burn with my lipo! so that made me happy! I had my surgery in the state of Florida where I have a second home and live in Burlington VErmont which is from what the conversion said 2222 km. so I have to fly down today to beg her to take out my second annoying drain! it burns so bad I want it gone! the problem is every time I fly i swell up! lol via iPod cycle! being bad I’m from the states I was wondering if you could tell me what 10stn means in relationship to your weight? I am thankful for your pots as it’s nice to follow someone’s journey that went right behind me! I love your results and totally get your concerns. I think it’s important that we get the results we want since we have to look at our bodies for the rest of our lives! keep us updates I am grateful for your updates! heal well! best jill

Hi Thanks for giving honest account of the procedure, I am thinking of getting a tummy tuck
, I am 42 years old after 2 kids my belly is looking pretty droopy and sad , how long realistically did you need to take off work ? Also would you say the pain is unbearable and are you pleased with the final outcome? Would you recommend the dr who did your surgery ? many thanks

Hey thanks! Realistically I have taken a lot of time off work, I won't lie. As far as the wound healing etc, everything has gone really well, healed great no problem scar looking great! I do have some extra fat and skin which I will show in my next update, that I feel needs revising but I am seeing my surgeon on Thursday so will update after. The thing that hasn't happened as quickly is the tightness and stiffness from the muscle repair. My surgeon prides herself on the tightness of the muscle plication which has got me a great waist, no complaints there. But I do activities in my normal work that had I gone back after the recommended (on her site) 3 weeks would have left me in agony!! At 3 weeks I was not yet fully upright, by 6 weeks my upper abdomen was so tight I could barely drive more that 10 mins in the car (manual) without irritating it - going super tight! I do not regret it and as I said I am yet to have my review re the extra bits I feel need revising, but I am really happy with the results! Amazing really considering what it looked like before. I don't believe it would have been the same had I gone with less of a perfectionist Dr wise, but again I would not have changed that either! Alli would say is don't underestimate the recovery time, it is a big op, don't take it for granted that the recovery will be easy or quick in my experience its neither, all the best to you [RS bleep]

Thank you so much taking the time to reply back to me , looks like this procedure is complex and long recovery time . My kids are relatively young 11 and 4 the second pregnancy really made my stomach look bad , I am already apple shape and look like I am pregnant all the time now, it really does get me down . I won’t be able to take that much time off work , but it’s something I definitely want to get done in the near future, best of luck with everything and well done you must be brave . I recently had lower blepharoplasty done so I know that going under the knife is not easy , but I hate my current stomach that much I am willing to be brave and go for it.. All the best , thank you again

Yeah, I think that's where I was too, its not that my tummy bothered me a bit, it impacted my life including sex life quite significantly. Everything clothing wise was about hiding it, now I go into a shop and if I like it , I'll have it!! It got to the point where 19 years on from having my kids I wasn't prepared to live with it anymore, if you are there now good for you!! It sounds like you likely need the muscle repair but maybe don't go with someone who is known for an aggressive procedure would be my advice........ It is worth it, totally, totally!! Xx

I am so glad to have liased with you , i don’t think any kind of exercising will fix the problem I attend karate lessons twice a week and spent almost 9 months doing sit ups and didn’t see any improvement, I guess maybe stick thin may help but I am not lol , I am not fat either I have skinny legs and arms and a belly that pops I am definitely going to get it done in near future , I need research into good surgeons who can do this . Thank you , best of luck x

Unplanned scar pics!
szlidFebruary 22, 2018
So my plan to hang on to the numerous bits of microspore attached to my incision scar until my bath next week went to pot, so I have ended up removing the whole lot and replacing with 1 long piece which should work much better and not get caught up in my clothing and the constant taking down and pulling up the spanx to go to the loo.
My scar is very low and whilst I am not complaining about that, in any way shape or form...its great! However the lowness does mean that the tape gets constantly disrupted simply by the position of it by my knickers and garment. I have taken a pic sitting down so you can see what I mean.
As far as the scar goes everything looks good so far. There are still a few black scabby bits which I just tried to clean off in the shower but I didn't want to run too hard so there are still some bits remaining. These pics are post shower and at the end of the day so quite swollen. There is a slightly pinkier small area on the pubic line which I felt I should do something with so I ended up using iodine on the whole scar which I dried really well with the hairdryer ( on cool) before taping. I am still using iodine on my BB daily also.

You look wonderful and have a beautiful shape! That before-after comparison is so impressive. I also think your scar is one of the best I have seen - it will be nearly invisible soon!

Thank you so much, I've just checked out your review and you have fantastic results! Your breast lift is amazing. I did want to do the same but psychologicaly I didn't think I could cope with all the scarring in one go. I think I may well do it though at some point in the future. I will be following your progress! [RS bleep]

Thanks! Yes, the scars everywhere took some time to adjust to. If I didn't need a TT, I would have never bothered fixing my boobs. They looked fine in bras, they were just ugly naked. Now I see how nice it is to not need bras! It's life changing! If you do decide to do it later, at least you know that you are a good healer and likely won't have terribly dark scars. The lift recovery is a breeze.

I won’t be 100% happy if it doesn’t go down though!
