WORTH IT
I am a 42 year old active woman with two children. I made the decision to get implants in 2002. I was a full C, now I'm a 34 DDD. I have wanted them out for many years now, they make me feel bigger, and nothing fits comfortably. Bras are a huge issue and I hate wearing them. I'm a runner so it's even harder to find support that doesn't hurt my back. Explant date is April 19th. No lift, just natural. Cannot wait! Will post after results, not worried, not scared, I know it will be a relief :)

Jellies thank you! I am so excited to have these foreign objects out of me. I absolutely hate the way I feel with them, looking back I don't believe I was ever very happy about them. I felt "fatter" right after I got them in back in 2002. The implants are Mentor saline filled 350cc. I was a small b when I had them put in. I am hopeful to not want to get a lift. At this time I expect them to be saggy once removed, however; I am at peace with that. Having them out will be a huge relief! My surgeon would perform a lift if I wish to do so in the future, she rather a patient heal for at least 6 months and to make time for a good decision to be made. I am one week until explant and am trying to stay patient. I can't believe you can make it until July! I was going to have the surgery today but I had plans made in stone from way back in December, so next Wednesday is the next available date. I'll keep you posted with some more right before, after and the healing process. The good, bad and I'm sure at least a bit ugly for a while!

Hi Kate, I know exactly what you mean regards feeling 'fatter' too. I am constantly aware of my boobs now, I'm sure I never used to be.
I completely agree with waiting to see the outcome too. I know it will look bad to start with, but the majority of stories with photos on here, show just how fast the change, retract, lift etc.
July seems a lifetime away. I can concentrate on getting as fit as possible before then. I'm massaging every day with almond oil too in the hope it might be beneficial in the long run too. I'l stock p on arnica and pure coconut oil too. You take care and good luck for next week, I'll be thinking of you x

I am very interested in hearing how things go for you! Your story sounds VERY familiar!!! I will be 42 this year, 2 kids, had implants 9 years ago and was a full C and now a very full D, almost DD. I am/was a runner...I don't like how so many outfits look on me so I tend to wear bigger/baggy shirts to hide the obvious. I have a small frame, 5'3" and 128 lbs. I am certain I would need a lift along with the explant. Just need to do more research. Good luck and I hope it all goes well!!

Holly2020 thanks for the comment. I too wear baggy tops and have a small frame. Pre BA I was a B cup, hoping to go back to the b, c would be ok though. I would most likely need a lift, however; I'm just gonna wait and see. All the stories on here are so great and informational. This really excelled my decision. I'll keep posting, counting down the days. Can't wait!

Good luck to you and congrats on making the decision! I just had a consult today and can't decide on just removal or removal and a lift. Not thrilled with the scar idea however don't want saggy grandma boobies either....mine are 400 cc saline however he over filled to a 430. I'm so ready to have these nasty things out! Keep us posted and good luck!

No pain, lighter and me again! May not be the prettiest ever, but I feel great! Wearing a sport bra for the next week, day and night but other than that no complaints from me :) I am back to me and what I should have been all along. Will keep posting progression weekly. Using lotions and natural remedies as well.

Palmers cocoa butter lotion with vitamin E, arnica (natural) and just being patient as they change. A bit indented today, but in a sports bra you can't tell. I know there is a good month or longer of change in the process so I'm not worried at all and best of all I feel great! I don't foresee me getting lift, but I'm just happy to be small again. Good luck to you, when's your ex-plant?

Any changes in the shape since the day of treatment?

Yes! I'll post pics later. All is well, love my smaller breasts! They are a bit saggy and the incision is still sore but I am not changing a thing! No lift planned, and I am very comfortable in non unwire bra's. Tried and I wire and I think it was too soon, incision still hurt.
I am also waiting to see the results and hoping not to require a lift. In 2007 I had a lift with 260 cc HP implants, over the muscle, to improve my very saggy 34/36 C/D breasts, to create a 34/36 D/DD. I asked for smaller, and at the very last minute before going into the operating room, was talked into going larger than I had said. Feeling the pressure and feeling he would know what he was on about, I agreed.
However I have always felt like they have been too big.
Ten years later, I have a little sagging, though my surgeon says my nipples are in the correct place. I have cc grade 3, though don't have any issues with them, but I do fell that they now seem to sit high and look boxy!
My PS says, I will be concave at the upperpole. I am only hoping that without the weight of the implants, my skin will retract enough to not need an uplift.
My surgeon described my beasts as long and broad, which made me feel a bit rubbish. I guess it's the fear of the unknown.
Can I ask you what size implants you have?
I shall follow your story, and hope it all runs smoothly for you. Good luck with it all. x
P.S. are you going to take arnica prior to the op? I found I have virtually no bruising with the lift and implants and I am convinced it was down the the arnica. X
