I am a 42 year old mother of 3. All of my children were large. Just scheduled surgery for December 6. I never thought I would be able to afford to get it done. It was actually my new husband's suggestion. He is the best! I am so excited and so scared at the same time. I just hope I can handle it. I had a C-section with my last child almost 8 years ago. It was so painful to me. I was in bad shape physically because I was sickly during my pregnancy, so I am hoping that's why I had such a hard time with the C-section. I will have 3 1/2 weeks off work, I hope that's enough. I love this site. I know I will be on it alot for the next several months!

I can't believe my surgery is one week from today....

I can't believe my surgery is one week from today. I have had a tickle in my throught and a runny nose the past few day, so hopefully it goes away and doesn't get any worse. I would really hate to have to reschedule it. I am using some of my Christmas vacation time off from work towards my recovery. Anyways, I am really starting to get nervous! I think my husband is sick of listening to me. I went for my pre-op appointment last Tuesday with the nurse. She acted like this surgery is a piece of cake and told me to not worry about getting a walker from my mother-in-law. From what I read on here, that is not the case. It is a very painful surgery and with all the strain on your back, a walker would be helpful. I am also hoping that I don't get nauseous. That is the worst feeling in the world. I haven't had anesthesia in about 25 years. Anyways, I just wanted to vent. I know I need to get some pictures up!

3 days post op, Doing pretty good. Just hate coughing! The nurse said I need to do it to keep my lungs clear, but boy does it hurt! Overall the pain isn't as bad as I was expecting! Took my first shower yesterday with a shower chair and my husbands help. I have been sleeping in a recliner and using a walker. The walker really helps minimize the strain on your back. Well, happy healing everyone!!
