30 Years Old Having 10 Year Old Saline Implants Removed - Birmingham, MI

one week!

Today I went to my one week follow up. She removed the stitches, and she said my scars look amazing for one week. she put new steri-tape on, which I'm supposed to keep on for 5 more days. Then I picked up some hydrocolloid pads to use to help reduce the scars after that.
still nervous about how the right breast will end up.. the skin hangs up funny when i lean forward compared to the right side (hope that makes sense!) and im really hoping that I end up at least flat chested, and not concave! But I am still very relieved to be free of them.

how close to your "old self" are you?
May 21, 2015
I was flat as a board, completely undeveloped

So like me! Right now you are happy with the result? You can "see" your old self, or are you shocked of the result?

I'm not really too surprised. I browsed around on here and read a ton of other people's stories. It's been so helpful to have this community to reach out to and rely on for help and support. I still expect my skin to retract more, and I'm excited and nervous to see how that goes! I'm glad I could help you!

Wow! You look so free & natural! Well done :) Don't worry about ending up concave - remember how your tummy shrank back after pregnancy? It took time right? I bet its the same in this situation. I'm trying to decide what to do about my implants. They're coming out, but trying to decide if I do it sooner or later...you've really encouraged me. Thank you for posting! [RS bleep]

I'm glad I could help! Posting these first few days of after pics has been difficult, not going to lie, but I really wanted to "give back" and help other people who are unsure. This website really helped give me reaasurance. I had planned on waiting until the fall, but my husband encourage me to do it sooner rather than later. He said "you know this is what hot want, and what's best, so why put it off? So you have more time to obsess about it?" Lol. But it is definitely important to wait until your firm with your decision!

Thanks for your support. I saw Nick Collis the surgeon up in Newcastle last week. I lasted about 2 minutes before dissolving into tears as I explained my dilemma. He was so sweet. He's definitely the surgeon for me. Part of the problem is finding the right time to fit the procedure in plus recovery time (I teach Pilates). How are you feeling? Has your strength, energy, and mobility returning ok?

I'm glad you found a doctor you're comfortable with! It can be tough, a lot of them want to push re implanting. I feel really good, I tried to avoid picking up my 20 month old toddler for the first week, and my doctor said I'm fine to pick both my kids up now. But I did not have a capsulectomy.

please keep us informed for as long as you can, you are the only one on this site that is most similar to my case!!!
May 21, 2015
I will! I think I'll drop to weekly pics for the next couple weeks, than probably not unless I notice any changes.

I think my skin is looking much better! I'm concerned though that the breast that showed the rippling may end up with a second crease in it like some of the other women who have hardly any breast tissue end up with. That breast sits a little different in the area where the rippling was..

Anyway I've been having fun trying to find out what fashion style suits my new flat chest! I don't feel quite as confident rocking a simple tshirt anymore.. but shirts with buttons or zippers down the front are much more flattering!

I love my new (old) body. I feel so much lighter and natural, so much better than I thought I would without those water bags in my chest!

Congratulations!

You are already filling out. Try not to worry too much about the breast that rippled. Your surgery is still very new and a lot of progress can happen. Just take care of yourself and look forward to all the good things that are coming your way.

you have already a nice result. You will fill out more. How close to your pre BA size and shape you think you are?

The gurgling sound is gone! Hooray! I had a few sharp pinc hung pains in my right incision site yesterday, but it seems to be better today. My skin has tightened up a litte. This much change in 2 days has me hopeful for what 2 weeks (and 2 months!) will bring. Reeeeally hope I "fluff up" like a lot of the other reviewers have... but it's not likely since I was so small to begin with. I'd be happy if the concave part filled in though!
