Hi everyone! I have been browsing real self for a few months now and it really helped me to prepare for my breast augmentation surgery. I am 2 weeks post op so still early enough for you to follow my healing journey! Apologies as this first part is quite the essay!

I'll start off with my consultation...
I visited 2 surgeons before my op with my chosen surgeon. The first surgeon I thought to be quite rude and she pushed me to have a certain implant (sillimed polyurethane implants) and extra high profile. She didn't really listen to what I wanted. I felt rushed and she didn't stay in the room whilst I tried on the sizers! I had paid £120 for this consultation so felt quite down to have felt like this!

So that lead me to research other surgeons and came across Jonathan Staiano in Edgebaston Birmingham, this consultation cost £100 this time.
There are company's out there who offer free consultations such as Mya, Transform & The Hospital group. These places are all about sales and after doing my research I wanted to make sure my surgeon was BAAPS board certified.

Mr Staiano really listened to what I wanted as well as making sure that I knew what would be achievable. I didn't feel rushed of pushed At all! He was easy to talk to and seemed really genuine. At first I was set on having Mentor implants and this would be 350cc. But Mr Staiano helped me to realise that it's the implants measurements that make a difference, so I started looking at the different manufacturers implant charts and was happy to have a Nagor implant which is made in the UK!

We narrowed the implant choice to a 360cc & 390cc despite there only being 2mm difference In width I had a very hard time choosing between these sizes. Jonathan explained that 2mm is hardly noticeable and either size would be fine and that it's the surgeons technique that makes the most difference.

My original surgery date was booked for the 1st December 2015!! I had chosen 360cc Nagor At my consultation and changed this to the 390cc 2 days before my surgery. My surgery got cancelled because of the change in decision and rebooked for the following week. I went back into Mr Staiano's office to try the sizers on again and finally decided on the 390cc. That following week was a nightmare and I started stressing that 390cc was going to look huuge! I called up again to switch back to the 360cc...then started panicking that this would be too small and called up to switch back in a panic...bad move because my surgery was cancelled for the second time.
At this point I thought about not going though with the surgery at all. My inability to make a decision and stick with it concerned Jonathan so I was offered counselling sessions that would be funded by Staiano Plastic surgery. I was shocked and overwhelmed that they cared this much about my choice in size and to make sure that I 100% make the right decision to avoid further surgery's.

I went to my counselling session and opened up to things I won't mention on here, that may have caused my indecisiveness and it did actually help!

I went for another consultation (Mr Staiano doesn't charge for further consultations after the first initial one) this time with my mom! Having my mom there to help me with my choice and giving her opinion also helped a lot as I had been going to the consultations alone.
After trying on the sizers (will attach sizer pictures) we decided that the 390cc does suit my frame. If I had any doubt about the size, I could get that reassurance from her, instead of calling the surgery to change my size again ????
My new surgery date was February 8th 2016!!

Hi! I'm so glad you felt comfort reading my experience! Just don't feel down about choosing the size of the implant. I thought I was the only person feeling this way. The truth is, a lot of girls get caught up in this decision. I am happy that I chose the bigger sIze.. And looking back now I really don't think a few ccs makes any noticeable difference at All! I am happy with them so far although they are still hard and high up. I had high profile round implants. When is your surgery?

Thank you lovely for the kind reply and advice, i am booked in for 17 march and the surgeon has recommended 400cc high profile, which scares me as im naturally a c cup (a saggy C cup!) so im nervous they will be huge! My wish pics are emily ratajkowski which is a very natural full cup with minimal upper pole volume and a lot of lower pole volume. Im terrified that 400cc high profile will appear like 2 basketballs on chest! The mod plus profole seems to be more natural looking but your results are beautiful and you look stunning. Those quads girl!!! Beautiful x

So continuing from having my 3rd date booked which was the 8th Febuary 2016!

I managed to go the whole week without thinking about boobs! Or the size of the implant.
I had my pre op appointment & everything went smoothly so far...
On the day of the surgery, I woke up feeling excited had my breakfast at 7:30 as I couldn't eat after 8am. (Admission time 12pm)
I packed my bags and arranged for a friend, who also had her surgery done with Jonathan to take me to the hospital and wait with me before heading to work.
1 hour before my admission time, I received a call from the hospital to CANCEL my appointment!!!
This had nothing to do with Staiano Plastic surgery this time... I was shocked and gutted as well as worried about my job becasue my surgery had been cancelled and not becasue of me changing my size this time.

I had arranged a temp cover at work and booked the dates that I would need off.
Luckily my work were very understanding about this but I did have to take 3 extra days off annual leave as I couldn't go back into work because they already had the temp I arranged working there for the week.

The hospital cancelled due to building work going on that week. Some dust managed to get into the operating theatre that only infection control could clear. They not only cancelled my surgery but EVERY surgery going ahead that day!

The following day, after calling the hospital to see what was going on, they gave me another date for my surgery...4th time lucky? This date would be 12th Feb!!

I was just so pleased and greatfull that the hospital and Staiano Plastic surgery managed to book me in again within the same week! So I only had to wait another 3 days. The staff really do bend over backwards for their patients!
A person had flown over from Belgium to the UK to be treated at the Priory Hospital who's surgery also was cancelled as well as a few cancer surgeries too! I was very lucky to be given the date I had when you think about what other major surgeries were supposed to go ahead that day!

My body stats:
Age: 23
Height: 163cm/ 5ft 4
Weight: 123lbs (athletic)
Waist: 23-25 inch
BWD: 12cm left 13cm right. (Even though I do have slight asymmetry, my surgeon said it wasn't enough to warrant having 2 different sized implants)
Pre-op bra size: I was wearing 32b, 32c, 34a... I really was not bothered about being fitted for bras becasue I hated my boobs!

Implant:
Nagor Impleo high profile round silicone
390cc (inbetween mentor 350cc & 375cc)
Width: 11.8cm
Projection: 5.1

I have attached some before pictures

Finally! Surgery day!

The 12th February came round quick! I repeated the same procedure as before, ate at 7:30am and packed my bags. My admission time was at 1pm this time round.

I arrived at the Priory Hospital and was shown to my room. The room was lovely and clean with your own toilet and flat screen TV.

The morning flew by with everyone coming in to check my blood pressure and fill out forms.
Mr Staiano arrived at 2pm and visited me to go through a few last minute questions. I felt so relived to finally be here having this procedure. He didn't mention implant sizes purely because I had tried not to think about it at all (not that i would have changed my mind now!)

Jonathan drew his lines on my chest and took my before pictures. He then said I will be About an hour or so till it was my turn to go down.
All of the staff were lovely and made sure I felt at ease, not once did I feel nervous..
I waited in my gown & compression socks to be finally allowed down to theatre at 4pm!
