WORTH IT
I am the mother to 8 children. Having my first at the age of 18 and my last at the age of 41, I decided on having my tummy tuck after finding out I had an ovarian cyst that was 13 cm. My OB removed that as well as my infected ovary. My cosmetic surgeon did my tummy tuck afterwards. I am 5 weeks postop, feel great! Im back at work, started going to the gym again only walking slowly while still healing. The worst I feel at this time is the pulling of the skin around the incision and swelling. Outside of that, I truly believe being an optomistic person has made the best of my healing. I have wonderful supportive drs, which has made a world of difference. For me, this wasn't about having a bathing suit body, it was about getting out of the shower and liking what I see! I still have swelling but can see my waist getting smaller each day! This has been the best thing I've ever done for myself. Every part of the pain was worth it!

It looks great!!
Thank you! Each week it's looking better! I will update my picture again at 2 months! That was about 3 and a half weeks postop.
You look great!! I too had my first at 18, last at 28. But I jad 4 total in those years.
Idk what happened with my post. I just wanted to like what I see. Mentally I'm having a rough time because of the physical pain. I Do love your optimism. I'm 21 days post op and I know it's early, but I'd like to fast forward. Lol
Yes, a little. But as all of my supporters have reminded me, our bodies have gone through a lot! It's major surgery. Im 5 wks postop now and i still feel a little pulling on my incision area. It's completely healed now. I have been wearing silicone scar strips over my incision. They really do wonders. At 3 wks, I was still taking advil and then 3 hrs later I took tylenol, which really helped. I kept that going until I started feeling better. Be sure to ask your surgeon though if it's okay. My ab muscles are very tight, but it's because we are not used to having them again! My surgeon told me NO ab workouts for a year because of healing. And he said besides I gave you the abs of a million situps. :) How are you feeling? Just remember as each day passes, it get better!
I feel not the best. My incision is high, so it's weird. Pins needlesand numbness. I don't ever want to work out my abs! Lol! It makes me upset thinking about it. I think if I was happy with my results, I'd look forward to the end. I got no lipo, but my belly is flat. But I'll never wear a bikini unless it's high rise :(
I completely understand! I keep talking to my tummy..hurry up and heal!
I've tried to think more positive in knowing there is a light at the end of this long tunnel. Before we know it, we will be healed and back to normal. Fingers crossed of course :)
Also, are you still sore and tight at 3 weeks post op?
I am a mother of six children. Praying your large family is supportive of your recovery. Blessings.
They are supportive, I just wish I was taking more care of them than the other way around.
I wonder how they know how to care for you...it's been modeled. Try not to start back caring for others too soon. My experience is that when you start, they expect it...not because they're bad kids...they're just used to that pattern. You have sacrificed a lot. You will feel more whole to continue giving.
I was cleaning here and there. My oldest was helping, then went on a trip. Forced me to take care of myself a bit, which is good, or I'll baby myself and never get up. I have one in college, another in NY, and my baby, my 10 yr old. She's been really good. I just need more recovery time I guess.
When you're used to being the giver, being the receiver is difficult. I'm sure you'll find a healthy balance and 5 years from now you will feel so blessed!
Fingers crossed*
