Day of the Procedure
So I did it! I was beyond please with Dr. Rousso and his staff's bedside manner. They were very patient and encouraging throughout my fear of the shots. I had a unique experience in that they administered an average amount of lidocaine then began the procedure, but unfortunately the average amount was not enough! Throughout the procedure they had to stop when they would hit a tender spot to administer more. Supposedly I have the "red-headed gene" which mean I need an insane amount of lidocaine to get me super numbed up (read about that here https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1692342/). Once I was 100% numb it was super easy. The sensation of the laser and the cannula was very strange but not painful.
After the procedure they wrapped my head in gauze because there may be some leaking from the "holes" which meant I could not sneak a peek of the result before all the swelling started. They instructed me to come back in the morning to follow up and take off the dressing. I was also instructed to sleep elevated so I made myself a tower of pillows to sleep on. I did take some of the pain medication along with my antibiotic before I went to bed.

Today is the day!!! I am incredibly nervous and excited for the chin lipo to get rid of my double chin! I've lost over 30 lbs in the last 10 months and I still have my stubborn double chin. It's so disheartening to see all the progress I've made everywhere else - but the double chin is still so prevalent. I really hope that the procedure goes well, because this would be an awesome reward and great motivation to keep on the weight loss path!
I had 4 consultations a couple months for Chin Lipo before deciding on Dr. Rousso not only because he of his impressive accolades, but also because of his demeanor, his wonderful staff, and the office was very professional. They did the imaging during the consultation so I could visualize the potential result which I did not have in any other consultations! He recommended a chin implant for my weak chin and Accusculpt (a form of laser lipo). I decided to take one step at a time and just proceed with the Accusculpt under local anesthesia (with the help of Valium of course for my nerves)!
I just can't believe this day is here. I have been anticipating it for such a long time now! I have made my bed, prepared food for the next few days, and stocked up on all my medications, so I think I am set! I am ready to roll and very much looking forward to seeing the results and feeling what it's like to live life without worrying about my double chin. I'll keep the updates coming during the process.
