Hey everyone! I'm 19 years old and I had a breast reduction a little over a month ago. I had excruciating back pain before and I couldn't find a bra for under $70 normally. I finally got the courage to do it and I'm extremely happy. Unfortunately my back pain is still as bad as before, but that's because I have degenerative disks in my upper back which causes my back pain. I am healing very well and I'm just about back to my normal routine! I will post my entire story in a little bit! This surgery is NOTHING to worry about. :)

The days before my breast reduction

Kortneym18
I was TERRIFIED before my surgery. I had so much anxiety about it. I was worried about scarring and having sensation loss and the thought of being too small. I had every bad thought I possibly could. But, I also learned that's very normal. I cried the days leading up to my surgery. I was extremely scared. Finally the day came and as I was waiting to go back into surgery (even BEFORE I had medicine to calm me down) I was as calm as a cucumber. I wasn't nervous not scared. I didn't cry once before surgery. After they gave me the medicine to relax me I was still aware of what was going on, but I didn't really care about anything. Then my doctor comes to see me and tells me I'll be going back soon. Soon after he leaves, my anesthesiologist came and gave me medicine. They began to wheel me out and I dosed right off! It was so easy!! I'll post about after surgery right after this one!

After surgery

Kortneym18
I woke up after surgery and instant looked at my breasts. They felt very firm. I was pretty loopy for a few hours. I had to have people help me a lot. I think I was ready to get out of bed within hours of waking up. It may have been sooner than that. I walked for probably 20 minutes or so at a time. It was actually VERY easy for me to get up and get moving. The main thing I needed help with was going to bathroom! I could handle myself I just couldn't pull my underwear back up because I couldn't bend down. I honestly had no pain at all. I did extremely well. The worst thing about surgery, in my opinion, was having to sleep on my back for a little over 2 weeks. I HATED that!! I was up about every 30 minutes the night I slept at the hospital. My nurse came in every hour or so to check on me too, so that didn't help. But over all, I would do it all again! I lead myself to believe it was 10x worse than it actually was.
