Today, I am 3 weeks post-op and I can finally say I am happy with what I see in the mirror.

ORIGINAL POST

(Almost) One year update!

Today, is officially 11 months post-op from my upper blep and rib rhino with Dr. Lee.
Rhino-He was accurate in telling me that my nose would go through some minor changes for up to a year. My nose had surprising minor improvements each month! My bridge has softened to a beautiful natural definition and height. (I'm being hypercritical here and these were such minor things I noticed and, remember I was already really happy with my nose when I first saw it with the cast off!) Initially in the weeks following surgery my bridge appeared wider and almost too high and had some harshness where the rib graft was placed. I was worried that would be my permanent appearance but confident that my nose would soften (and get smaller in a sense), because Dr. Lee said it would, and it did! There is such a difference in my nasal tip now that the swelling appears to be 100% over. I realize now how swollen my nose was in the first few months of healing. My nose is even more beautiful, and dare I say perfect for my face? The stiffness I felt in my nose has either subsided or I'm now used to it. Smiling, wrinkling my nose, etc. feels much more natural and comfortable. I do wish my scars were less noticeable, but I think they could only be seen if someone was really looking for them and knew where to look.
Upper bleph- Originally, my folds were so different, almost giving me the appearance of a lazy eye in pictures, and making eyeshadow application difficult. My eyes are still uneven, but pretty darn symmetric considering the difference between them before. I don't plan on getting a revision. He also recommended tightening weakened muscles in my eyes. They appear really are so much brighter now and the openness enhances my pretty eyes. Now my sister, who has similar asymmetry is going to contact Dr. Lee when she is ready to get her own upper blep. She liked what she saw over the holidays. (So I was 2-3 months out). I also wish my bleph scars were less noticeable, again I think they are only noticeable if you're really looking for them, if I'm looking down, or have my eyes closed long even for someone to really look. They are undetectable with my eyes open.

Some other notes, I will say that Dr. Lee (charmingly) and his office were really excited about my results. I think I look fantastic too but, I can't be really sure if they treat all of their post-op patients like that out of their pride, or to brownnose. Anyway, they really, really, really wanted me to share my photos on their socials without any editing to hide my identity, and I understand why they would. However I wanted to keep my plastic surgery private. They respected my decision and were polite the whole time, but they really pushed to use them. I haven't read any reviews mentioning this photo consent aspect so I thought it would be important mention if your a private person and have a hard time saying no. It wasn't a problem for me to say no (multiple times) though and I was flattered that they wanted share my photos so much.

In terms of my experience, I want to clarify my original review. Sometimes in the email correspondence the office staff came off as rude. Again not a big deal to me but something else to consider. Dr. Lee is really awesome and so was Lori, the Patient Coordinator, I have no complaints. My surgery date was changed a couple times due to Dr. Lee's travel schedule. My friend disapproves of his office now, because she thinks they should have prioritized my schedule as a patient who spent $$$. I didn't really take much offense to it but, it is something to consider. They did offer me a night in their recovery apartment and waived the cost for it to make up for the inconvenience. They smoothed out any issues that came up because I didn't have the extra time to prepare, like getting me my aftercare supplies. With that being said my surgery had to be a bit more rushed as an out of state patient. I flew in and had my actual consultation the same day of surgery with the date moved up. I found out perhaps not even hours before surgery that my septum was deviated during the consultation. So Dr. Lee made the quick decision to use rib instead ear, which is to my understanding a more difficult and dangerous procedure. Of course it seemed crazy, and rushed. I was scared and alone. (A distant acquaintance was nice enough to pick me up and dropped me off from airport to Dr. Lee office and that was the extent of my emotional support, so bring a friend if you can!) Given the circumstances though, I thought his nurses and staff were awesome and kind. A nurse and the anesthesiologist were comforting me as I went under and told me I was really brave. The scrub tech said she was excited for me as I was already pretty and would look even more amazing. I thought that was all so sweet. The anesthesiologist texted me the next day to make sure I was okay the next morning and of course Dr. Lee texted me through-out my recovery to check up on me. He even offered to do a follow-up when he was traveling a few weeks post-op and was in the same state as me. The aftercare nurse they referred to me was amazing. I highly recommend her because she was so great (and wish I had the chance to see her face and properly thank her, but my eyes were covered from the upper bleph.) Anyway I could go on and go about my 5 star experience, but to close I will say I'm so happy I decided to trust Dr. Lee with my face, it has really changed my life.

Is there anyway you can provide pictures of your nose?
