I wanted to improve the proportions of my face for...

I wanted to improve the proportions of my face for a better balanced, harmonious and youthful appearance. The lip lift was one of the proceedures as I have always have a rather long upper lip and that combined with a short nose did not look proportional.
I came las fall from Europe and had consultations with three different surgeons. My gut feeling was to go with Dr Haworth.
Consultation:
I was brought to a consultation room and offered refresments. The staff is very kind. The waiting time was long but once the doctor came he took all the time I needed to discuss thoroughly about my case (it involved multiple proceedures). He really listened to me and treated my views and wishes with respect (not all phycisians do that). He made a very serious, reliable and professional impression. I left the consultation with a good feeling (and all the financial information about my surgeries).
After I returned Europe I still had a 60+ minutes telephone consultation with Dr Haworth where he in detail discussed with me of all my planned proceedures (I had emailed his administrator my questions in advance so that he could prepare for our second consultation).
My operation was set for April the 6th and prior the operation the staff of Dr Haworth kept regurlarly in touch with me. The whole team is very friendly, accomodating and willing to take that extra step for the comfort and well being of their patients.
Day of the surgery:
I was greeted by my surgical nurse who was brisk and positive. She got me changed into the hospital gown and compression socks and introduced me to the rest of the team. She made me feel like I was part of the team myself! After a while, Dr Haworth came to the treatment room (not the operating theatre) and did some small talk to relax me. Then he started marking my face. He had special jewellers glasses (with loops) on and a device (I don't know its name) which he used to measure by the millimeter the surgery schetches he drew on my face. The marking took a long time, maybe 45 minutes. He was in no rush.
I was lead to the operating theater which I had already visited with my nurse. My anestesian started with sedatives and I remember joking what good stuff it is.
I will add photos in the next post once I learn how to use the site.

Did you have other procedures. I noticed you seem to have bruises under your eyes on a couple of pics. Also curious why you have a bandage on your chin. Did you get something done there?

I don't think you needed the outside lift, it does not seem to make much difference. I have seen others with this, they did not say they had general anesthesia.

How old are you? Because you look really young on the photo's you posted. In all honestly you looked better before you did anything. IMHO. I'm sorry but why?? I know you're probably not completely healed but there isn't much difference besides your mouth looks like it won't close right and fashion changes constantly. The next fade could be thin lips like in the 60's & 70's.. You just look so darn young ...

Well, I am no school girl anymore but I prefer not to share my age here. Thanks for the compliment anyway! I have always looked younger than I was. I'm a model so I also need to keep looking young.
In case you don't like the volume of my lips, remember I am at 1/3 of in my healing process.

You looked beautiful before. Beautiful after. Not a whole lot of difference for the price but as long as you are happy that's all that matters!!

Thanks! I'm happy with the improvements (although I am still in recovery). I don't want to put photos here that show my whole face but the reality is that my facial proportions are better now and that's what is most important to me.

Understood. Well you look like a beautiful girl regardless. I hope you heal soon and continue to look amazing!!!All the best to you!!

I am now four weeks post op and healing. The area below my eyes, cheeks and upper lip is still quite stiff. The incisions and the surrounding skin are red but improving. I will receive laser therapy to ensure best possible scar appearance (actually Dr Haworth lasered all the incisions in the end of my operation).

I like that he takes his time with markings. He is truly an artist. You may have some tightness under your nose for a number of months, up to a year but every month it gets better. The first 4 months is the worst, actually the first month is the worst, then at 4 months everything gets a lot better. This is at least what happened to me. I know things feel strange and may look strange but in another few weeks you should notice a big difference. It looks like you are going to have a REALLY good result.

She won't have nearly as long of a recovery because she did the hyperbaric oxygen!

Hello, did the doctor do anything to your chin and lower lip? The result looks great!
May 8, 2017
Thanks! I had a chin reduction to improve my proportions and I'm really happy for the results although apparently the swelling is last to go from the chin. Nothing to the lower lip.
I will see my doctor for the laser treatments in two weeks and ask for the before measurements. I find them difficult to measure here at home but my current measurement seems to be 5mm.
That does not make ANY SENSE.
Your doctor overcharged you ,, or you have the number wrong.
That is ridiculous .
You so dry and witty.
I have a feeling the flights and the stays are included,,
Something doesn't add up,,
"No that is what he charges and actually it's more because you need to pay separate for anesthesia and surgical center. Plus if you need a nurse for the first night that is extra.
I must be missing something!
In any case ,, u look great,, but I think you spent too much. Imho
It wasn't just a "lip lift" that was done... so that explains the difference.
Tmurphy, below is her stated breakdown of the costs. YES, she paid 15,200 for the liplift. She also had a corner lip lift and stated that she had a rhino, chin reduction and fat injections so those costs were extra. Based on his prices I suspect everything all together must be close to 80,000 or 100,000. She wrote,
"I paid for the Medialized Corner Lip Lift 8,200$ and the Upper Lip Lift 15,200$ plus additional costs for the surgical centre and anesthesiologist."
Surgery is always a gamble,, no matter whose hands hold the knife.. just to be clear.
He is without question a great surgeon,, no one said otherwise.
Because someone does great work, others need not be minimalized. He charges those fees bc of his location and celebrity status.
Plenty of great surgeons. ,, and not everyone drives a Maserati ,, some like the way a Volvo drives better lol
