Month 2
So unfortunately once I was like 6 weeks post op I ended up with a terrible infection that left me in the hospital for 1 week & I required home health care & was an iv medications for another week. Once I was removed off iv medications I was taking oral antibiotics for 2 weeks. It was really difficult so my advice if you notice anything like redness or I notice after my drains were removed I had some green drainage & green drainage that came out of my belly button please take note & go on antibiotics right away before you end up with a severe almost deadly infection most people have a great recovery but I've been having the recovery from hell
1 month post op !! The most challenging month of my life!!
So I've officially made it past month 1. Such a painful, emotional, difficult month. Week 1 was hell.. I even was left crying some days & praying to God. Emotionally I thought I would never make it I was depressed & very irritable. I regretted this whole operation & even thought what an idiot I am to even go through this!
Week 2 looked up I stop taking the pain medicine I still would get muscle tightness at night but it was tolerable. I was able to walk around better, stand straight, but had swelling issues.
Week 3 I was able to drive (90 degree sitting position ONLY) did some light grocery shopping & even cooked (with a chair nearby so I could sit whenever I felt tired) .. Even took a short flight out of town (this caused swelling from underneath the breasts down to my pubic area like I was pregnant)
Week 4 of course there still is swelling especially at the end of the day or if I'm walking a whole lot & sitting too much. Mentally I'm ready to take on exercising (which was denied by my doctor.. Of course!) sneezing & coughing still is uncomfortable but not nearly as bad as in the previous weeks. I also started thinking about sex .. Which wasn't on my mind at all since my operation. But I'm glad I got through it tears & all & it can only get better from here
