Well, it finally happened!! After about 2 years I've found the Doctor! I went to several places including WAVE!! Dr. Honrado took his time and explain the process. I did not feel rushed at all!! He's down to earth not pushy and not put off when you tell him you can't afford something. He'll help you to find an acceptable alternative (only if you want it)!! just flat out really like the guy!! It's a friendly office too! Not at all what you would expect in Century City!
I'm very excited to come back and report my experience!!

Ulthera, which I had twice, did not work for me AT ALL!
March 24, 2013
I'm so sorry to hear that!! It's worked for all my friends that have done it! Where did you have it done and when?? I'm really interested in hearing your details!
March 24, 2013
Had it done twice, 2nd time, which was three months ago, was done at super high voltage. (insanely painful!) There has been NO change at all. If you do a search on this site for Ulthera and Ultherapy, you will see numerous people have all said the same thing. I'm glad it worked for your friends, though.
March 24, 2013
Maybe because you had a higher expectation??? None of the results I've seen were dramatically different!! They were all subtle changes for the better! I'm 58 years old this summer and feel like I'm in fairly good shape! I'm looking for subtle changes at this point! I can't expect more without going under the knife! I'm not ready for the extreme yet!!

Congrats on getting your treatment scheduled - that is very exciting!! Its good that you feel like you have a good idea of what to expect, as I've heard the results are very subtle as well. I am always a bit curious though what makes a person choose this treatment over a treatment like Botox and fillers where the results can for sure be seen. Do you mind me asking what drew you to Ultherapy over injectable treatments?

March 25, 2013
No Not at all! I guess I'm a little afraid to do the fillers etc. I have seen so many people that have gone that route! They just don't look natural to me! For me it's Baby Steps! (~_~) I'm 58 years old but not quite ready to take the whole plunge. I'm doing Ultherapy not expecting a dramatic difference! What I am hoping for is a tighter jowl and neck. If I get more, I'll be extremely happy!! Counting down the days!!

Well, I had my appointment! They invited my husband to come in and sit with me! It was really comforting to have him there.

The doctor was great and answered all of our never ending questions.
I was terrified because I expected to be in a great deal of pain. I wasn't. The doctor gave me half of a pain pill and I was fine. Hes was very considerate and kept asking how I felt.

When it was over my husband said he could tell that the Jowls were gone and my neck looks better. As you can see from the picture there is a little swelling. I feel it's only going to get better in time.

I think it's VERY important to select the person that does this for you carefully! Look at their track record before you commit!

I'll update my post as time goes on! It's hard for me to take side pictures of myself but at some point I will post some.

This is strange because Ultherapy/Uthera does not work immediately.
April 4, 2013
Well as I said, there is some swelling. The doctor told my husband it would get loose when the swelling goes down and then tighten up again once the collagen kicks in. I'd be happy if it stays where it is now!
April 4, 2013

At least you know what to expect so that if it does get loose again you won't feel too disappointed and we can hope things will tighten up over time. :)

Thanks for posting pictures. I'll be looking forward to hearing how things go and hoping you see the tightening you are hoping to see long term!!

April 4, 2013
That's true!! Trust me...my husband will let me know if it's not better!!! (~_~) He's the one that paid for it! Thank You! I will try and post some more pictures in a week or so just to see if I'm progressing!

Beckywoo, I would be really interested in any new updates. Your latest pics look great. You must be pretty happy. I just had mine done yesterday and I noticed you said the doctor told your husband that it would get loose when the swelling goes down and then tighten up again once the collagen kicks in. I have to say, I was very happy to hear that because I could swear mine was looking a little looser than before the treatment. Did you have that experience with yours. Thanks in advance and continued luck to you. =)
May 31, 2013
Well Mine was a little looser when all the swelling went down. It seems to be tightening again now though! It's been 6 weeks and weirdly over the last week it's becoming tighter again! My doctor was really sweet and said we'll take a look in another 6 weeks and decide if he needs to maybe do some more zapping! So excited for you! Where did you get yours done??

I got mine done in Cleveland, Ohio at the Dr. Parker Skin and Aesthetic Clinic. An RN did mine. She was very experienced and had done a lot of them. It was a great experience for me. Little pain, minor swelling, only one small bruise, but the waiting is killing me, silly I know, but when you hear others have seen such fast improvements, you can't help but hope yours will also be that quick. =). I just had my neck done. I noticed you said they can't do the whole neck, but I had my whole neck done excluding the center of the neck where the thyroid, etc is. She told me that when the collagen builds on the side of the neck it would help smooth out the center where the wrinkles settle. Not explaining that too well, but I hope you get my meaning. Good luck to you.....I know you'll continue to see improvements now from here on out! =)

Just wanted to add.....when I said I had my full neck done, I meant under the chin as well as on both sides of the lower neck. =)
June 3, 2013
Oh Really? Maybe next time I see my doctor I'll mention that to him! I just posted my 7 weeks picture! I'm thinking that not much more difference but the texture of the skin is better!

That's great you are seeing a difference in your skin texture. I would love to see that as well, but I have a ways to go. Thanks for the continued posts, I really appreciate it!

You are so welcome!! It's good for me too!! I heard of another type of thing that is supposed to work better than this but can't remember what it's called!! May have heard about it from you!!

I don't think you heard it from me, although I have researched a lot of stuff out there. There is Thermage, but it has not gotten near the positive response that Ultherapy has. I wanted to tell you that I thought your 7 week photo appears to be firmer in comparison, yay!
June 3, 2013
Very Sweet of you to say! Thank You! By the way, you're correct it wasn't you that told me about LaserLift! I'm going to look into that next if this doesn't get me where I want!

Beckywoo, I was wondering if you are still having any pain or sensitivity at all. It's only been 6 days for me, but I'm getting shooting pains in my neck, not bad, but annoying. It's still really tender to touch and wash, etc. I've heard plenty of women are having soreness issues. Just wondered if you experienced that at this point?
June 5, 2013
No! I had a strange numb sensation under my chin for about 5 weeks! No pain! You got more than I did! I didn't get the sides of my neck done! Where in your neck are you getting the pains??
User Avatar
June 5, 2013
I'm def. having the strange numbing sensations under my chin and on the sides of my neck, makes sense. The shooting pains are more on the sides of the neck not under the chin. I'm not too concerned about it. Just wondering how long before I can expect to have 'normal' feeling back in my neck, ya know? Thanks for responding. =)

By the way Tableone...did you have any effect in the beginning at all? I mean did, you have any swelling that made you hopeful? I actually thought during the procedure I heard sizzling! Not sure what that was all about!!
