HORRIBLE RESULT. Ruined my beauty. Waste of money. Incredibly arrogant.

I never ever write reviews for anything but I felt...

I never ever write reviews for anything but I felt compelled to write one for Dr. Ghavami after my rhinoplasty. I had wanted one for quite some time due to a hump I had on my nose and a over rotated tip. I did extensive research and when I found Ghavami I was hoping that he would do a great job due to his specialization in ethnic rhinoplasty (I am East African).
The consultation was about a month prior to my surgery, what impressed me immediately was that he addressed the litany of things I didn't like about my nose before I did. He had a humble, genuine vibe to him and I felt very confident in going with him after ending the phone call.
The surgery went very smoothly and felt like it took 5 minutes. It seemed like one second I was chatting with the anesthesiologist and the next waking up. I had pretty bad swelling the following two days but after that I was fine. Getting the splits taken out was probably the most satisfying thing I've ever experienced! Having the surgery wasn't really painful just uncomfortable and annoying not being able to breath for a week but that's just part of the process.
I must say I LOVE my new nose. Dr. Ghavami removed the hump and lengthened it by adding grafts and I feel like it fits my face perfectly now. My profile is gorgeous, has a beautiful slope. It's so feminine now and brings out my other features so much better. My nose head on is beautiful too! The bridge is more narrow and the tip is pretty swollen but I can already see how my nostrils won't be as visible and that's exactly what I asked for. I was so happy when I saw it after getting the splints removed I cried lol. And what makes me even happier is that my nose is super swollen now and it still looks cute!!! I know that when the swelling subsides I'm going to love it even more.
Overall I am so pleased with my experience with Dr. Ghavami and his staff. Everyone from Sadaf my surgical coordinator to Karissa and Aman my nurses treated with me with such kindness and made me feel so comfortable. I felt like they genuinely cared about me and that's such a good feeling. Dr. Ghavami is a high profile, very well known surgeon and I was afraid I would feel like just a number but it was anything but. Dr. Ghavami is brilliant and has a true talent, his surgical skill is out of this world and I will be going to him for any future procedures I might have. He's also funny and a nice guy!
The surgery definitely wasn't cheap but I can honestly say he's worth every penny. Don't cut corners when it comes to something as serious as surgery or as precious as your face! I have the comfort knowing I will never need or desire another surgery on my nose and that in itself is priceless.
I'm only 9 days out of surgery so I won't pictures just yet but I will in about a month (that's when my nurse told me a lot of my swelling should be down by). I hope my review helps at least one person because I know that they can be reassuring to potential patients. I myself am a skeptic and need to see and read countless examples of a surgeons great work to feel truly comfortable before taking the plunge.

So sorry to hear this - How much did you pay for this? does he provide revision? what are the terms and conditions? in some countries, a revision is a must and free of charges

I hate my nose now. End result was horrible.

I initally liked my nose due to swelling, but now I'm a year out and can say that the result is WORSE than the nose I was born with. Any refinement I had was ruined. He did not improve my nose in one single way. Over resected my bridge, made it wider, made my tip wider, more bulbous, my tip looks like a ball now, made my nostrils flare, made my nose wider, deprojected my nose, etc etc. I had a unique, elegant, thin nose and now he gave me a bulbous, wide mess. He's also SUPER ARROGANT. He got annoyed with me after I paid an insane amount for my surgery and was dissatisfied.
His office is a surgery mill. He doesn't care about the patient individually unless it's an instagram thot or Amber Rose/Blac Chyna/some other trashy D list celeb. If you have a really wide bulbous nose maybe he can improve it, but if your nose is not horrible and just needs slight refinement, DO NOT GO TO HIM! I was a VERY attractive girl and he ruined my looks. I'm not ugly now but not nearly as beautiful. Lost my character and uniqueness. His saving grace is his sweet patient coordinator Sadaf.
When I saw him, I remember thinking one of his nurses noses looked bad, her bridge was washed out and just looked odd... THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HE DID TO ME. His surgery style is outdated, total 80s ski slope. He doesn't understand that keeping a little strength in the bridge is attractive and modern.
Now I have to pay than what I originally paid to fix the mess he made my nose. HUGE regret.

Wow. So sorry. Could you post a pic to help some of us in the future? You could hide your other facial features with emojis to help keep anonymous. Thanks in Agfa an even, I'm sure we'd all appreciate it!

Hello. Do you wish to share a photo of before and after? I'm considering this doctor to consult with. I live in Florida and was going to make an appointment to see him in California.

How exactly did the initial swelling mask the fact that he made your nose appear larger in the end result? Wouldn’t the initial swelling have made that fact worse? Photos would be helpful for those of us who are considering going to him, because your description is a bit confusing. I hope you have either grown to love your end results, or found the revision you were seeking out!

The initial swelling made my bridge higher, and projected my nose more. Once the swelling went down I saw how flat my nose was and it was deprojected by a lot. I have no reason to lie or make a fake review about a doctor. I strongly warn anyone to stay away from this doctor.
Your review is indeed helpful, thank you so much for sharing and I look forward to seeing your photos. I know you want to wait till more swelling subsides, but the community loves to see before and progress photos, this way they can see your changes unfold and it helps them know what to expect -- especially when it comes to having a rhinoplasty as the results can take up to a year or longer. Do you have any recovery tips to share with the community?
