I am a Middle Eastern woman and have always felt a bit guilty about wanting a "nose job." I did not want to erase my ethnic appearance, as I am proud of it; but I hated having a big nose. My mother always instilled confidence in us, and so I felt that plastic surgery might be a superficial choice, but I have always privately yearned for it.
After reaching my 20's and pondering a rhinoplasty for half of my life, I decided that I would seek the data and make an educated choice based on my research. So I began with a google search and decided to go from there. My first consult was with a bargain doctor, which I felt I could easily afford. To my horror, from the moment I arrived (the receptionists were late to open the office) my experience was horrible and unprofessional. Not to mention, no reputable surgeon is going to advertise their price. The doctor recommended that I get a chin implant, cheek bone implants all kinds of surgeries I absolutely refused. I left feeling like I absolutely will not get a nose job and that I hated Beverly Hills for all of the stereotypes that obviously, must be true. That was the end of that until three years later, I began to regain my search, much more cautiously this time.
I was recommended to Dr. Ghavami right off the bat by my partner's colleague, Sandra. She was going to have a rhino, but became pregnant, nevertheless, I continued with my quest.
I scheduled my consult and arrived to the office, which is posh, yet relaxed. I still had many reserves about plastic surgery and Beverly Hills, but Sandra was so down to earth, that THIS office must be awesome.
Rose greeted me and took me into Dr.G, who was professional, kind, confident and did not push any other procedures on me. (I told myself prior to the consult that if another damn doctor pushed anything other that this rhinoplasty, I would terminate the process.) Rose took me to her office to talk costs, dates, details. $13,000? Wow! I was not expecting it to be that costly. I was expecting maybe 7K MAX, but after seeing the work and the guarantee Ghavami gives on his surgeries, I knew it was the wise thing to do . I was going to finance. The hell with it, YOLO- You Only Live Once. I was going to do this for myself and stop wondering and pondering.
After all of the preparations were made and the date was set, I went in for surgery, apprehensive of the anesthesia, but with great confidence in Dr. Ghavami. The anesthetist was AMAZING. She put me at ease, and made me laugh. Before I knew it, I was up and in no pain. I was discharged and a week later I was scheduled to vacation. Uh oh. Dr. G was so cool and made it possible for me to be able to be fully ready to travel (splint removed, etc.) I had a tiny bit of bruising, but the results were phenomenal. I went home (I am from NY) and nobody noticed I had a nose job, but told me I "looked great!" I could not be happier with the outcome and every financed penny was worth it. This is the best decision I have made of my adult hood. Dr. Ghavami is the best! The BEST. The only stereotype holding true from my Dr. G experience is- "you get what you pay for."
