Rhinoplasty and Chin Augmentation - Male, 31 yrs

Growing up, I always had a nice nose. That is, until puberty hit. By the time I had graduated high school I had a dorsal hump and a hanging columella. While I hoped it was just an awkward phase, it was there to stay.

Just before my 30th birthday it really hit me that this was something that needed to be fixed. I was very self-conscious about it and pretty much all I could focus on when I looked in the mirror or at photos. I took some pictures of my side profile to get a better look (my least favorite angle) and realized that I had a weak chin, too! Not THAT weak, and nobody would know it from the front view, but it certainly added to my self-consciousness when I came upon this discovery. It would be another year before I actually made a move, but I'm glad I did.

Sometime during October 2015 I began doing online research to find the best rhinoplasty specialist available. After reading dozens and dozens of reviews, and looking through hundreds of before and after shots, I could tell that Dr. Rahban was in a class of his own. In addition to being impressed by his work, his website was incredibly informative and well laid out. I immediately sent a message to inquire about a consultation. One of Dr. Rahban's staff members got back to me right away and we scheduled a consultation. I had so many questions and was really looking forward to speaking with a professional of Dr. Rahban's caliber regarding my options.

When I arrived at the office I was greeted by his lovely staff before being led into the exam room. Dr. Rahban entered minutes later and I have to say I was surprised at how young he looked and how easy he was to talk to. There was a feeling of familiarity and it was almost like speaking to a friend--a very knowledgeable friend. Dr. Rahban abstained from sharing any of his own opinions until he was absolutely clear about what I saw in myself. Once I described what I did and didn't like about my appearance, he had me look straight ahead as he studied my face for a minute or two. He then proceeded to explain to me everything I wanted to know, most of it before I even had a chance to ask.

Dr. Rahban firmly believes that knowledge is paramount. That is, the patient should be fully informed and have all questions answered. By the time I left the office I had a wealth of information that I could use to make my decision of whether or not to move forward. I spoke with some close family members about it and decided this was something I really wanted to do. My surgery was scheduled for Monday, 12/7/15.

I went back for a couple more office visits where Dr. Rahban took before pictures and give me pre-op instructions. While I often feel anxiety about big changes, I felt no such thing as the day of my surgery approached. Dr. Rahban had clearly done a great job of answering all questions and setting my mind at ease.

Fast forward to the day of my surgery. Dr. Rahban prepped me by marking my face and made me comfortable with his always-collected demeanor. Several hours later I awoke to Dr. Rahban and a friendly team of nurses informing me that the surgery was a success--music to my ears!

The first week was uncomfortable, but hardly painful. I went back to see Dr. Rahban every week for the next month, then six weeks later, and I currently have an appointment to see him again in another four weeks. Dr. Rahban likes to keep a close eye on the healing process and continued to mold and shape my nose with each visit--non-surgically, of course. All the follow-up appointments are included in the cost of surgery, which is great.

It's been nearly 2 months since my surgery and I feel great. My self-confidence has reached new heights. People tell me that I look taller, healthier, and happier. The surgery may not have changed my height, but judging by the way I feel I'd say they're right.
