I am a 24 year old from LA and like many, have known from a young age that I would get a nose job. My search for my rhinoplasty surgeon began years before Snapchat started taping surgeries and I discovered RealSelf, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that of all of the doctors (and there's a LOT) that I have consulted with/watched/snapped/studied/read reviews of, Dr. Rahban is the man you want to choose.

To start, his staff is as wonderful as the reviews say, and what a difference this makes in the experience. It is unfortunately uncommon to meet a plastic surgery team that is both beautiful and NICE. With each other doctor I had consulted with, I had been met with unwelcoming and unfriendly people that make you feel judged. Dr. Rahban's staff makes you feel the complete opposite way, and of course I have to mention Sally specifically because that girl ROCKS. You walk in as a prospective patient but you really walk out feeling like you've made friends that are excited for you and supportive of your journey.

Dr. Rahban does not do photo-morphing, nor do you go over inspiration photos for what you want your nose to mirror. Dr. Rahban takes the time to educate you and speak about your specific anatomy and what he can realistically achieve for you. It was evident that I was not just "another rhinoplasty" to him, I was a unique individual that he was going to help transform into the most beautiful version of myself. Many other doctors in this region have a "cookie cutter" stencil they use for every single one of their patients, taking no care to individualize the process or the person. A rhinoplasty should not be like picking a look off of a menu. You should want to look like yourself, albeit better, and a good doctor should help you achieve that, not convince you to look like a different person. These other surgeons perform their operations unreasonably quickly, and schedule multiple cases in the same day. What would happen if the doctor needed extra time with your nose but had the next surgery to begin? This is not a risk you want to take in any surgery, especially not one involving your face.

During my consultation, Dr. Rahban advised me a chin implant would be necessary to balance out my rhinoplasty, though I was sure I would be fine without it. I really don't think that he would have gone through with my surgery at all because he knew it would be an incomplete job, and I have to say, I am 100% sure that you will be able to tell he is not about the money, he is about his craft. Yes it is expensive but your face is as good of an investment as any, and you will be paying a LOT more money to fix some other doctor's half assed job. I left my consultation knowing I had finally found my surgeon.

My surgery day was honestly a blast. His surgery team is as awesome as his office team. I loved that I was the only patient there, and it made me feel so confident that I would be getting the best care and attention I could for my surgery. I hopped up on the operating table, got strapped in, thought about how glad I was that no one was Snapchatting me, and boom lights out. I woke up 5 hours later even though it felt like 10 minutes, a lovely nurse helped me get my belongings and clothes together, and I went home to recover. I listened to every instruction he gave me, including not getting my face/hair wet at all (aka no showering, baths are ok). It was disgusting but I was in barely any pain and barely bruised at all during my whole recovery, and I think my nose is healing great!

All in all, I would definitely do it again, but I am glad I picked Dr. Rahban and won't have to :)

Eternally grateful for Dr. R and for doing my due diligence and looking beyond the Snapchat/RealSelf popularity trap.

Will add additional pics soon.
