Sooo hello everyone!
I am european, I have always been troubled by a very bulbous tip and quite thick skin.
I have had two previous rhinoplasty to adress it (the first one was closed and extremely conservative), which did not let me totally satisfied - allthough I have not been botched at all, my tip is still wide, bublous and undefined.

I have spent quite some time researching docs to perform a revision on me. My goal is to get a really more refined (yet naturel of course) tip from the front view. i like my profile the way it is.

I hesitated a lot between dr Gruber, dr.Davis and Dr Frankel. I finally choose doctor Frankel for I really love his gallery and I got the chance to speek one happy patients of his. I really trust his ability to adress convexity of tip cartilage and to handle tissues that have already been operated on.
I have not had the pleasure to meet him person yet since I leave far away. I am meeting him on monday and my procedure is on tuesday!
I feel quite nervous but not as much as I expected to be, maybe it is because I am confident as can be with my choice.

Well we won't know about how things turned until the operation is over and the swelling has gone down.
i will gladly share my experience with you guys, going for a cosmectic procedure and choosing a surgeon is such an hard process, especially with rhinoplasty, that I will be glad if my I can be of some help

Thank you for sharing your story. Did you schedule a surgery without seeing the doctor in person? You must be very brave to do that. Good luck with your surgery! Please post Before and After pictures.

I am not brave, I would have prefered meeting him first of course, It s just that I live in Europe, so buying 800$ plane tickets just for a 30minutes 1 hour appointment was out of question. But I talked to him on the phone first and I have spent nearly 1 year researching infos about him and others docs so I was pretty sure I was heading in the good direction :)

Best of luck. I am also choosing between Gruber, Frankel and Davis. I agree, I also like Frankel's gallery. Best of luck with your revision x

Did you have a phone consult with each surgeon before surgery? Or in person? How did you choose between them? Was it just from online research? What did you think about Gruber and Davis? Thanks x

I did a phone consult with Dr Gruber and Dr Frankel, both really nice demeanor. Doctor Davis does only in person consultation. It was pretty hard to choose. Davis was the first I dismissed because I did not find the before and after on his website enough refined to my taste and because he is so busy that it takes nearly a year to schedule a surgery date. Choosing between Gruber and Frankel was the hardest, I just went along with my guts, Dr Gruber's age concerned me a bit to be frank.

Good luck! He's a great surgeon based on his gallery and patients reviews. I'm he the same boat here seeking a revision

I can not yet tell if i made a good decision, but for the look of it i might have :) is there some docs you are considering for yourself? if you are still in the research process my advise would be to be patient. I created files about each doctors I researched with results gallery similar to my case (the one i liked and disliked), realself and makemeheal patients pictures and reviews that seemed genuine (on realself only review with pictures, on makemeheal reviews from poster who has a regular activity on the forum and does not come just once or twice to drop overly enthusiastic or negativ comment on a doctor). Try to consult with some of the docs you like most and than make it rest and let your gut feeling point you towards one.

Hi, Oicho. Not sure if you're talking to me here lol but yes I have few surgeons on my list. It includes Boahene, Frankel, Lamperti and Davis. This list is based on their website gallery and the reviews here. Yesterday I came across another surgeon called Steven Dayan in Chicago. I found an incredible result from one of his patients here and his gallery is impressive. however, after some digging I found a very negative review from one of his patients. It's really hard to make a decision:( This is my third surgery so I'm very nervous and kinda paranoid. I might also check reviews on Makemeheal to have a better idea. Thanks for the advice and excuse my bad English lol. Best of luck for you!

Hi everyone,
So I met doctor Frankel and his Fellow on monday.
It was quick but felt like a really thorough examination. They looked at my nose from every angle and touched it from inside to feel If I had steel enough tip and septal cartilage, good news was : yes, despite my two previous rhinoplasties I still had a "bunch" of it... looks like my two previous docs were very conservative on me.
I really liked that they discussed the technical details in front of me, they had the operative report from my previous surgery and they planted hypothesis on why all the techniques used by my previous surgeon did not succeed in making my tip less bulbous looking.I felt that doctor Frankel was really taking interest in my case.
He then took pictures of me and morphed them to a potential results. i liked what I saw and that he asked a lot about my opinion especially on profile since I did not want it altered too much.

doctor Frankel has a nice and warm demeanor with some reserve also, I liked that. I was not neither overly enthusiastic neither cold. apart of that, the office is quite beautiful and the staff is really nice.

the revision was performed on me yesterday!! I feel okay, no pain, just pressure on the nose, and a bit of blood and mucus drip (it seems to be better since i woke up). No trouble sleeping actually I surrounded myself with pillows not to roll over and sleep on my side..
right after I woke up from the surgery I was wondering so badly how it went, the nurse said that Doctor Frankel was very happy with the procedure. Yesterday afternoon I got a call from doctor Frankel who said that things went out beautifully, just as planned and that he was really happy with this procedure. He seemed to be really pleased.
I was SO happy when I heard that!!!
For the moment I have a cast on and tapes on my tip but I can already see it looks smaller than my old one. For the rest I don't know, I don't want to jinkx myself, and having gone through this already I know that there is no way you can see what your nose will look like 1/ cast off and 2/ after swelling has fully gone down.

well that's about it for the moment, I will update pics when the cast comes off. I am sorry i don't post more pictures of myself, I really don't like taking pictures plus I am kind of a private person. but I know this helps so I will try to take them with different angles and to report as the swelling goes down.

thanks Zooster, not sure it is bravoury I just did not went that broad and round tip to be all I could achieve with two rhinoplasties and the energy, time and money it has allready costed me. I really hope I will like my results, allthough I am not striving for perfection and keep repeating myself that if it is better, even if its less than i expected, it will have been worthwile
