I am thrilled to provide this review of Dr. Jason S. Hamilton at Osborne Head & Neck Institute in Beverly Hills, CA for septal perforation repair + rhinoplasty! I have needed septal perforation repair for a long time and over the years my nose had become worse in appearance, as you can see from my “before” pics.
After a 5-hour surgery, somehow Dr. Hamilton performed a near miracle – he fixed my large septal perf and gave me rhinoplasty for a beautiful new nose – inside and out! I can’t believe that a long-cherished dream has come true!
I can’t say enough glowing things about Dr. Hamilton and entire staff at OHNI – including James the talented (thank God) anesthesiologist, Terry the attentive PA, Stephanie the kind nurse and Noelia, the wonderful patient coordinator who handled my insurance approval of the septal perf surgery.
Since I had a large perforation, Dr. Hamilton had to take cartilage grafts from my forehead. Please note that they shaved my hair ABOVE my HAIRLINE so the stitches will not result in a visible scar because my hair will grow back. Also, I think I may have gotten a BOGO free with a mini-forehead lift! BONUS!

He did a awesome job ! How much was your procedure?

Hi ki24, thanks so much! I'm psyched. It was $6,000 for the rhinoplasty + a $990 anesthesia fee - so I paid $6,990 prior to the surgery. The rest (septal perforation repair surgeon's fee + facility fee + anesthesia fee) they billed to my insurance. I was going to wait to see how much the septal perforation surgery cost (after insurance processing) and then post an update with all costs breakdown. Does that help?

Your nose looks great. How long did you have to stay in L.A? I'm considering Dr. Hamilton but still have a long way to go. I'm only 6 months post op, hopefully next summer will get my nose fixed. My nose was destroyed in and out in what I thought was going to be an easy and minimally invasive surgery. I was left with one third of my nose, pinched tip with a big dent on one side, scooped out bridge, overly thinned pushed to one side perforated septum. Have been very depressed but reading your review and seeing your before and after, gives me a big hope. Thank you for you time posting this review.

Hi, I only had to stay in LA 6/1-6/7, so seven days. On 6/1 at 4 p.m. was the preop appointment (1st time I'd seen him in person aside from CT scan images sent to him). Then surgery on 6/2, with followup appointments on following days. On 6/7, he took out my forehead stitches and removed the external cast. I still have the internal splints in, and will not get them out until another 6 weeks probably. I really recommend Dr. Hamilton -- I think he is a miracle worker. I was so worried before I left on the trip to LA -- I was worried he was going to see me in person, take a look at my nose and tell me he wouldn't be able to do it. But he didn't let me down. I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience with your original rhinoplasty. I know how terrible it feels to be insecure about one's nose. I had relegated myself to official "Freak" category for a long time.

PS- So I guess you only have 6 more months until you can do something about it? That's a relatively short time...

Yes but I have three little kids and two of them are going to be at school next year. So can't do it until next summer break.
I truly appreciate the time you take to reply to the comments. Looking forward to your updates.

My case is similar to you please keep me updated if u find a good surgeon. I am two years post op and could not find a solution to my problem.

Sure Mika110 I will, you too please. I'm really lost because there isn't that many doctors who have experience in septal perforation repair.

Thanks for your review your nose looks beautiful!! I'm now considering Dr Hamilton. I think I owe myself a consult with this doc. I was really excited to get my rhino this month with a different surgeon but I decided I needed to do more research since this will be my second time I want to make sure I get it right ;)

Sounds like a smart approach. I wouldn't want to repeat the surgery process too often -- it's pretty hard on the body as you know. Good luck!

Dr Hamilton also did my surgery over a year ago. I'm happy with results and he's awesome. You can view my pics too if u like.

Funny your one of the reasons I'm now considering Dr Hamilton. Your review had popped up on my email alerts a few weeks ago and I was blown away at how beautiful your results look!!

Updated After Pics

Hi All,
I wanted to give an update and share some "after" pics I took today. This morning, I was able to remove the last of the surgical tape that was on my forehead (from the cartilage grafting). The swelling has gone done significantly but I still have congestion and stuffiness. I am babying myself and using the Ayr saline spray a lot, like 2-3 times an hour. Only 2 more weeks until I can work out again, I'm looking forward to that!

Congratulations! I am eagerly following your results journey as I am considering this surgeon for my revision. Try and make the eye coverings a little smaller so we can get a better feel. I did the same, so I get it :) So far your results looks good. Glad you're happy!

I had same surgery you did... He's a fantastic Doctor.. I almost cried when He showed me the inside of my nose and the perforation was completely closed. Your results look great. It's been over a year since my surgery

Thank you, Rosas2010! Dr. Hamilton is very talented and skilled. I am a firm believer that people excel in what they do on a daily basis and the fact that he performs multiple surgeries a week of this type gave me comfort that he would succeed where other surgeons would not (in addition to his reputation). After doing a lot of research, I concluded that septal perforation repair + rhinoplasty is so complex that most surgeons will not even attempt it. I was also so impressed Dr. Hamilton personally saw me on all the follow up appointments, attended to my dressings, etc. when he could have had his PA or a nurse do that. He truly cares about his patients.

I totally agree. I was surprised too. I never had to see anyone but him for follow ups. He's super attentive and makes u feel really calm.

So now it's been 2 years - are you still happy with the results? Dr. Hamilton is going to do my perforation repair surgery, and I'm nervous!

Thank you, I love it! So much prettier than before. I used to hate my profile. Not anymore. :)

Your nose looks great, really natural. You seem to be pleased with the results and service but have rated "not sure" - Any particular reason?
July 28, 2016
Thank you! I won't know for sure until I know how much it costs after insurance.

Hi again, I know everyone keeps asking the same question, and u probably still are unsure, but just curious have u found out the price of the septal perforation fee as of yet? I'm in Canada and really need to know what cost I am looking at so I can determine if dr Hamilton is an option for me.... Thank u and sorry if I am annoying you...

It really just depends on your situation. You'll need to talk to the doctor to get a better idea. Insurance should cover some of it, but that depends on them. I've seen anywhere from 30,000 to 5,000 from what I've read from other doctors and Dr. Hamilton.
Thanks so much to you both! Dollfaze, you speak as though you could be a doctor yourself! Thanks for the expert commentary. Have a great night.
