I chose Dr. Andrew Frankel in Los Angeles for my revision rhinoplasty. I am very happy with the results. He was able to remove all of the unnecessary septal grafts that the previous surgeon had placed in the tip of my nose and the alar side regions. He also shaved down Dorsal profile, which the other surgeon had made too tall with the left spreader graft placed and Dr. Frankel was also able to rasp the bone near my left eye which had shifted in after the previous surgery. The scar is imperceptible post surgery. I am very happy, as this is a definite improvement in my nose and I no longer cringe when I look at myself in the mirror because I recognize myself again.

So happy for you! Is there anyway you could upload some before/after photos of just the nose?

I'm also considering Dr Frankel but so worried about fake reviews would you inbox me photographs morphs and after photos?

I don't have after pictures taken yet, and I didn't have a "deformity" before. I just didn't like how large the last surgeon made my nose with grafts. I will upload some photos, just give me a chance to get some together and share them on here. I am definitely not a fake reviewer. If you read all of the questions I asked on here in the past 2 years, you will fully understand my angst from the previous surgery and I am defintely a real reviewer. My results are subtle to anyone that isn't me, but I am happy because to me, it is not a subtle difference. Even though, it really IS fairly subtle.

Actually the results are not as subtle as I said in my last post. From a distance the results are subtle and in all reality I don't think anybody noticed on their own, aside from my best friend, who actually said to me "you look like yourself again", which I had also noticed. And he also said to me, " I can't believe the previous doctor had no problem with just telling you to live with it like that. ... now that it's gone I see how huge the tip of your nose was from the graft!"

The unfortunate thing about having had the graft in the nose is that it altered the tip forever. All of the doctors I saw, including Dr. Frankel told me it was certainly not a deformity and was unpredictable in terms of results after removal. I understood the limitations of the surgical results due to the previous surgery. Dr. Frankel of course had to go in to the nose essentially blind because regardless of the operative report from the previous surgeon, there was no way to know what had really happened / been done to the nose by the previous doctor when he had diverged from the operative plan and made choices that I explicity had forbidden (altering the tip). I am still healing of course. Tomorrow is the 6 month mark. I have an appointment with Dr. Frankel for a check up at the beginning of January. The swelling and area where the nose tip was stitched or sutured in to position at the base of tip, has started to soften within the last week. I think the main point about my review for Dr. Frankel is that I made a choice to do something (have grafts removed ) and I wasn't going to stop looking for a doctor who would do this for me. Most doctors I met with were telling me that the doctor who put the grafts in needs to be the doctor who removes them, because only that doctor knows what was done inside of the nose. But that doctor (Dr. Yoo) was inattentive and unwilling to address the situation throughout the next 18 months. Dr. Frankel was willing to go in to the nose and take as much out as he could, and that was what I was looking for in a revision rhinoplasty surgeon. Now, we are watching my nose as it heals.

So happy to hear. Thanks for your review. I hope he can help my nose. It's so badly botched. It's agony living with it everyday, it hurts and itches years on, so much has been cut away.

I think the most important thing for anyone of us in this situation to remember, is that sometimes there have been too many changes already made to the nose and rather than risking total collapse a choice must be made on what can be safely improved on, because after certain changes have been made on the nose in previous surgeries, certain aspects of the nose will not be fixable. The previous surgeon is the person who failed me by altering tip of my nose without my consent. Because of this, the tip will never be the way it was again. I am upset about this, but that previous surgeon really could not have cared less about ignoring my explicit wishes. I haven't written a review of my experience with that doctor yet, but I think it's because my experience was such a violation of my right to decide what I do and do not elect to have done to my own nose, without even so much as an apology, in fact that previous surgeon tried to deny everything that we had discussed including my specific orders NOT to do anything to the tip of my nose. That doctor is Dr. Donald Yoo in Beverly Hills, California.

My doctor did the sane re my tip. I was shocked to wake up with my Greek tip gone. Shocked. Were you able to restore any of your tip? He sutured mine and trimmed it 5 mm. So I am hopeful that some will come down and I can fix it accordingly.
Glad to hear you're so happy with your results. Will you be sharing some before and after photos? What are your best pre/post-op tips to share with others considering a revision?
