WORTH IT$7,000
So its been6 months post op since my revision lipo and yes my lump that I had around my navel did go down from the lipo my flanks and back are still fat. I have to confess my diet and physical activity were not ideal this time around. I had a lot of personal stuff yo deal with this time so I didn't really have any motivation to take care of myself. I guess what I learned this time around is that apparently no amount of lipo can make you "skinny" if you start of beign over weight. I really need to work on my diet and exercise more yo maintain a healthy weight. Plus I don't want to have this entire process be a waste of money because despite what ppl think about lipo the fat does come back if you dont take care of yourself.

Revision surgery is a go!!

I'm 11 months post o.o and I met with my Dr yesterday and he finally decided to do a revision surgery. He can clearly see that I still have lots of fat everywhere. Especially in my lower abdomen. My stomach still sticks out even if I'm wearing a compression garner. I have been stressing over this for the entire year since my surgery, trying to diet and exercise with no results. I'm happy and scared at the same time. My Dr warned me that if he suctions too much fat I will have ripples that no surgeon will be able to correct. I still have 2 months to change my mind if I somehow loose weight in my midsection.

I’m so sorry you have gone through this.. how are your results with the revision?

They are okay. Not as good as I expected. I still have this bump under my navel area and a small roll on my back. I cant wear a 2 piece bathing suit comfortably but I guess it's better than how I used to look. If i could give any advice I would say do your research and pick a Dr that has a lot of success in the type of surgery u want.

thank you or your advice! we are always our own worst critics. I picked a great doctor that I trust but I’m still worried my results won’t be as dramatic as I’d imagined. I guess I’ll have to wait it out and see. progress over perfection right? :-)

I was so upset with my first surgery, I felt like maybe I was too fat and I should have gotten a tummy tuck. I obsessed over my results all year until I had the revision. I think after the second surgery I just gave up and accepted that I will never have a flat tummy. You are right though, I am my worst critic.

My Dr changed his mind.

I met with my Dr for my 6 month follow up and apparently he decided to change his mind about my revision surgery even though he was the one that had suggested it in the first place. Im so upset, I clearly still have a lot of lower belly fat. My stomach still sticks out and theres a lot of pinch able fat. He claims that its just loose skin and if he does more lipo then there will be ripples and I would never be able to reverese the look. I dont understand how he decide all this when the last 4 times we met he kept telling me how all he had to do was use a small canula to lipo out the left over fat. Im so upset im going to speak to my surgery coordinator about my regret in booking my surgery with this Dr. I should have picked a better Dr who has had better results. Ive been working my butt off dieting and exercising and I actually lost 9 lbs but my belly still sticks out. This $7,000 surgery should have fixed that.

I'm sorry to hear about your disappointment ma'am...it appears that you and I have the same body type. I was scheduled for next month to receive lipo to my abdomen and when I was finally able to do a video consult with the PS, he informed me that the fat was UNDER the muscles and the only way to get that off is with diet and exercise. He informed me that the liposuction wouldn't be able to help. He suggested a TT for a flat stomach. This could be your issue as well. Good luck on your revision ma'am

Do you know what percent of your fat is visceral? A DEXA scan or similar will give you a good idea of that information. Visceral fat (fat around the organs) cannot be removed with lipo. Visceral is also not very "pinchable." However, it will slowly come off with diet/exercise. If you want to monitor it, get periodic DEXA scans which provide down to the gram values of fat in each area.

No, I dont know unfortunately I cant get a Dexa since I dont have any medical necessity for it. I have an hmo and my insurance will never cover it. I did loose about 10lbs since the surgery but I have really been watching what I eat and exercising regularly. My lower belly still sticks out but I guess thats not enough for him to want to do a revision surgery. I asked to see my before photos but he hasnt showed them to me yet.

THere's a company that does DEXA scans and are relatively inexpensive. I believe it's $40 a scan (sometimes they have deals). I believe the print out tell you total fat you have and it breaks it down to how much is visceral.
