I used to love my lips but over time and after a rhinoplasty my lip lengthened to a whopping 22 mm???? I have spent a lot of time checking out the reviews of the many selfless ladies on Realself and decided this was indeed the procedure for me! I am hoping my results are as good as Dr Talei's many other satisfied customers!!

How many mm did he remove? I, too, had a 22mm upper lip. My lip lift removed 8mm but it has dropped down to 16mm now.

I believe he removed 8 mm- it looks very short at the moment but my lip has swollen to titanic proportions so I am sure it will lengthen when the swelling goes down:) I will double check with him on Friday when I go back to get the stitches removed.

You did it!!! Congrats to you! Things are swollen, but I can tell already, based on the shape of your lips, that it looks even and once the swelling goes down it's going to look really, really good!

Day 4 Stitches out!
carolmacJanuary 20, 2017
I am very happy about the shape of my lift however I am an a little worried about the scar at the moment . It is very raw and is not healing as well as I hoped. Dr Talei believes it's a reaction from the bacterial ointment and has told me to continue with Aquaphor only. My eyes are healing increasingly well though! I still have dark coloured incisions with yellowish coloured borders. I am sure it's just irritation but I long for the fine thin scars I have been seeing on other ladies at this stage! Drinking lots of green drinks, taking my antibiotics and vitamin c as well as getting lots of sleep!! My lip is still varying shades of purple and I know have slight bruising under my eyes. Praying I will look better in 2 weeks!!

4 days stitches out is quite early-but smart at the same time to avoid puckering look of the stitches; however be careful not to smile or open your mouth wide or it'll separate! I have a bit of separation on my right side from laughing with friends one day and I'm so mad about it. My Dr. specifically said no singing, laughing big, opening mouth wide for ONE MONTH! That's such a hard time to stay serious... ahg.
I think you're going to look SO good, though, so hang in there!

Thanks! I think I have separation as well and the skin around that side of the incision is yellow and goopy. I am having a hard time chewing too and smiling! I still have bruises after one week but I think by next week my incision will be much better and the bruises will be gone. I gave up wearing he mask the last couple of days and actually didn't get that many weird looks - am beyond caring at this point

I hope it heals nicely! I had yellow ozing, but it was just fluid. I continue to wear a mask, but live in asia... so super common hehe. Are you putting neosporin or anything on it?

Just aquaphor and cortisone. Still a bit horrific. will post more pictures when I am looking presentable. I fell that it will look much better when the irritation is healed and the swelling goes down.

how is the scar looking now? better? did it separate?

Slowly looking better but still really sore looking. However I think it is worth it as the long lip was aging and I feel my facial proportions are much nicer now.

i had a reaction to the prescribed antibacterial ointment too. one small area next to the nostril at the end of the incision refused to heal until i stopped the ointment.

I hope he doesn't go the way of Randal Haworth who now charges 16000 for a lip lift!
Seems strange, I mean the cost should be the cost right? I don't see that happening here in the U.K. so much.
