What worked for me to fix my lip lift scar.

Hi ladies! I just wanted to share the absolute fabulous results to reduce my lip lift scar. I did have a scar after my lip lift due to an infection, not the Dr's suturing or due to any tension on the incision. What absolutely has worked to improve the scar greatly has been microneedling. I have done nothing else to my scar besides this and scar tape and serum. I bought my own Dr Pen on Amazon. This is the procedure to be used only after the scar is about 3 months old and completely healed:
1. Use new 36 needle cartridge which has been soaked in rubbing alcohol to sterilize (needles come sterilized but you must clean them before and after every use with rubbing alcohol- I soak mine for 5 min.
2. Swab area to be needled with alcohol. Also wear gloves to avoid any infection.
3. Using setting of 2.5 microneedle area. I so about 10 passes over the area with the needles. I use hyaluronic acid serum during the process.
4. Area should show some pin prick bleeding and be a bit red but not overly so.
5. I use a cell repair serum afterwards. There is many on the market, the one I use is from skinceutical
6. Area will be red for the day but by day 2 you will see a dramatic difference in the scar.
7. I know this is not recommended but I do this twice a week and the whiteness, webbing, tightness, redness and noticeability of the scar has been dramatically improved. This is what works on my skin and your skin may be more sensitive. Start out slow with a lesser setting (say 1 or 1.5 and see how it goes. The setting denotes how far the needles will go into your skin.
This is a very inexpensive and amazing procedure for anyone like me who is unfortunate to have any kind of scarring on their face. i have heard this also works for acne scars.

5 month update!

Hi Ladies!
I am so tardy about posting this review and I apologize. Life just goes back to normal once you are done obsessing over the healing and then you forget you even had it done. It is so hard to have your face looking strange- in my case it took 3 months to look like my old self -when most of the swelling subsided. That said, it was all worth it and I am so so happy with the new lip and the youthfulness it brings to my facial features. I would recommend this surgery to anyone who has an excessively long lip. The elimination of RBF (resting [RS bleep] face) is totally worth all the swelling and obsession:)

8 week update

Hi Ladies! Things are definitely improving and I think in another month I will look normal - a better normal! I am starting to really like my new lips! My scar is improving weekly and while still noticeable to me it is not something people stare at or anything. My advice for scar care that worked for me is massage your scar for 2 min at least 3 x a day using a silicone gel for scars. I use strattoderm which my dermatologist swears by. Wash your scar with a gentle cleanser such as Cetaphil. I also "vibrate" the area with the back of my sonicare toothbrush as an alternative to massage. At night and when I am hanging around the house or sleeping I use silicone star strips which I cut into small pieces and paste all around my nose on top of the incision. I also massage with shea butter for extra moisture as it is super dry where I live. I honestly feel that all of this has really helped my scar improve a lot over the last month or so. The swelling continues to dissipate at a snails pace but at least my smile is not too wonky anymore! I will update again once the swelling is 100% gone and I can't wait for that!!
