WORTH IT$4,500
I used to love my lips but over time and after a rhinoplasty my lip lengthened to a whopping 22 mm???? I have spent a lot of time checking out the reviews of the many selfless ladies on Realself and decided this was indeed the procedure for me! I am hoping my results are as good as Dr Talei's many other satisfied customers!!

You look great! Did the procedure really cost $4,501?? The $1 is so random! I notice that some people paid $5000 while others paid $4500.... did you get the 10% real self discount?

It was $4500

Carolmac now the price for this surgery went up. I guess since he gained popularity he decided to charge more.. now he charges $6000 and $100 for the consult. No more free consults!!! It is a shame for me because I had my eye on him for a while but now that I waited so long just to have my consult, his price went up. Too much I believe considering its local anesthesia and an in office procedure

Now it's 6500 and that price is only guaranteed 3 months!
I hope he doesn't go the way of Randal Haworth who now charges 16000 for a lip lift!
Seems strange, I mean the cost should be the cost right? I don't see that happening here in the U.K. so much.

I guess I'll never be able to afford to get it done! I thought 4,000 was reasonable and it wouldn't take that long to save but 6,000? AhhH! I know he has an expensive office in Beverly Hills with high rent but it still seems excessive. I doubt his rent went up so much in one year that he has to raise the cost of the procedure by $2,000. A 30 minute procedure under local anesthesia is NOT worth 6,000. :( Sad to see that he's becoming greedy like the rest

Beautiful I understand. I found another really great doctor closer to my home which was better for me and I had mine done yesterday and I am super happy even though today I am swollen like crazy. Dr. Spiegel in Boston does about 4-7 procedures per week even more or less and its the number one procedure at his office. Everything went very smooth and I did not have any pain during or after the procedure. He is awesome and his staff really try to make you as comfortable as you can.

How many mm did he remove? I, too, had a 22mm upper lip. My lip lift removed 8mm but it has dropped down to 16mm now.
January 19, 2017
I believe he removed 8 mm- it looks very short at the moment but my lip has swollen to titanic proportions so I am sure it will lengthen when the swelling goes down:) I will double check with him on Friday when I go back to get the stitches removed.

Did he redo your nose too?
January 20, 2017
You did it!!! Congrats to you! Things are swollen, but I can tell already, based on the shape of your lips, that it looks even and once the swelling goes down it's going to look really, really good!

I think this will turn out great once you heal! Good luck. May I ask how many mms were excised?
January 19, 2017
Thanks! I think 8- I will double check on Friday- it definitely will be an improvement from the 22 mm that were there before.
January 20, 2017
It is going to look great!! the swelling should get better around Day 5 and Day 6. Hang in there!

Day 4 Stitches out!

carolmac
I am very happy about the shape of my lift however I am an a little worried about the scar at the moment . It is very raw and is not healing as well as I hoped. Dr Talei believes it's a reaction from the bacterial ointment and has told me to continue with Aquaphor only. My eyes are healing increasingly well though! I still have dark coloured incisions with yellowish coloured borders. I am sure it's just irritation but I long for the fine thin scars I have been seeing on other ladies at this stage! Drinking lots of green drinks, taking my antibiotics and vitamin c as well as getting lots of sleep!! My lip is still varying shades of purple and I know have slight bruising under my eyes. Praying I will look better in 2 weeks!!

4 days stitches out is quite early-but smart at the same time to avoid puckering look of the stitches; however be careful not to smile or open your mouth wide or it'll separate! I have a bit of separation on my right side from laughing with friends one day and I'm so mad about it. My Dr. specifically said no singing, laughing big, opening mouth wide for ONE MONTH! That's such a hard time to stay serious... ahg. I think you're going to look SO good, though, so hang in there!
January 23, 2017
Thanks! I think I have separation as well and the skin around that side of the incision is yellow and goopy. I am having a hard time chewing too and smiling! I still have bruises after one week but I think by next week my incision will be much better and the bruises will be gone. I gave up wearing he mask the last couple of days and actually didn't get that many weird looks - am beyond caring at this point
January 23, 2017
I hope it heals nicely! I had yellow ozing, but it was just fluid. I continue to wear a mask, but live in asia... so super common hehe. Are you putting neosporin or anything on it?
January 24, 2017
Just aquaphor and cortisone. Still a bit horrific. will post more pictures when I am looking presentable. I fell that it will look much better when the irritation is healed and the swelling goes down.
January 27, 2017
how is the scar looking now? better? did it separate?
January 29, 2017
Slowly looking better but still really sore looking. However I think it is worth it as the long lip was aging and I feel my facial proportions are much nicer now.

i had a reaction to the prescribed antibacterial ointment too. one small area next to the nostril at the end of the incision refused to heal until i stopped the ointment.
