WORTH IT$6,000
My 1st time was with Dr. Jones (around 2002), who was a surgeon by training but burnt out on trauma calls; it was their San Jose office; everything went well, but post-op swelling was bad; 2nd time was around 2006 with Dr. Bernstein (who had apparently founded NHI with Dr. Rasmussen but started out on his own in NYC); I traveled all the way to see Dr. Bernstein for his reputation (and also to visit NYC); however, right before the procedure, Dr. Bernstein said I would need more grafts than he initially thought, so I had to pay more; 3rd time was in 2010 with Dr. Jae Pak, in their San Jose office; with Dr. Pak, there were no surprises, and as far as post-op recovery and long-term results, it was the best. Now, 5 years later, I specifically sought out Dr. Pak to fill in some thinning spots in the temporal areas. My wife and I flew to L.A. to have it done at their main office. The whole atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing, and the procedure went very well from the beginning till the end. Dr. Pak made sure that both my wife and I were comfortable. It was also reassuring to to know the technician Emma has been with NHI for 20 years! The post-op instructions were given repeatedly, and I got emails from Dr. Pak the night of the procedure and the day after. What great care! I have nothing but great things to say about NHI and Dr. Pak! (Curiously, I had never met Dr. Rasmussen although my wife told me he walked in to say hi to me, when I was sleeping.)
