Day 1 Consultation (Monday)
At the office I had pre op pictures taken, met with Francis to go over everything, and then met Dr. Mayer. Meeting the doctor was pretty surreal, and I just sat in this awesome Victorian era chair as he analyzed my face. I read another review where someone described him as an artist using an artistic approach, and I would completely agree. He then told me each procedure that would be done, how it'd be done, and what I would expect to see afterwards. Then he asked me what my questions were. Lastly, I went to see Sharon for billing. After all of that I walked down the street to Rite Aide to pick up all my prescriptions.
Day of Surgery (Tuesday)
I arrived and had a sedative waiting for me. I took that and waited in the lobby until going into another room to change into a gown. By this point I was very sedated and relaxed. Last thing I remember was going into the operating room and receiving the anesthesia. When I woke up I didn't feel any pain, which was a blessing. The rest of the day consisted of two things - sleeping and lots of icing. It was either that night or the next night when Debra (anesthesiologist) called to check up on me.
Check Up (Friday)
Before the long Memorial Day weekend I was told to come in for a checkup. I was completely coherent at this point, and in very little pain, if any. They said everything went well and I was told the results looked great before the swelling started after the surgery. At this point I could already tell the most important procedure was the hairline lowering and orbital bony contouring. That made a huuuge difference. Lips and chin still swollen, still had some bruising under the eyes.
Last Day Of Check Up (Tuesday)
I met with Francis as she removed the sutures and cast on my nose. Dr. Mayer came in to help as well. This was by far the most painful part. I was so excited to see my nose and when I did it looked amaaazing. I loved it. Chin was still very swollen and was hard to imagine what the end result would be. All in all I was very happy to have that part done and over with. Last thing I had to do was camouflage before my flight. The lady doing the make up was very gentle and nice. She sent me home with a complementary clinical make up (very nice!).
(Back Home)
It has now been a little over a week and every day I can see something change. The forehead, hairline, and nose are beyond amazing. The chin is still droopy and swollen, nose still a little tender, and still minor bruising under the eyes. Pain is completely gone. I am also very pleased with how the forehead procedures raised my brows. That as a huge plus.
(Overall)
Francis is sooo nice and wonderful. I loved meeting with her. Sharon was a sweetheart. Dr. Mayer was very professional and pleasant to be around. He was funny too! The medications they provide for you after surgery are very helpful and I'd recommend sticking to them (antibiotic, anti swelling, pain med, steroid, nausea). I didn't have to use the nausea once, which was nice since it's rectal. I did have an allergic reaction from the gel (as the Doctor described it) in the nostril area. That combined with the sutures being in for so long caused some bumps, but have gone down a lot since. Icing the first day was suuuper important and it paid off. The ice pack they gave me was a lifesaver, and was almost better than the pain meds.
So yeah, that's about it. I would definitely recommend Dr. Mayer to anyone, and the whole experience was fun and pleasant. I plan on going back someday for cheeks, but for now I'm broke as a joke and will wait to see how it all turns out.
To Dr. Mayer and all of his staff - thank you thank you thank you :)

Do you have any pictures of your forehead in profile before the conturing?

I'd love to see before and after pics

Requested Pictures
I know some of you requested pre and post op pictures. May not be the best references, but it's all I've got so far. I'll take some more profile shots next week. At 1 month post op I noticed that big bump on the bridge of my nose (had me worried), but that has gone down completely as of now. I think that was the result of the grafting...if I remember correctly. As of now it's been a little over 2 months. My forehead is not as swollen and it's more "smooth" now, sunken eyes gone, hairline is definitely still healing over, lip is more natural looking now, and swelling/bruising has almost gone away. I notice changes still every week. Again, I'll post some better profile shots next week after this VI peel is over with :P

You look wonderful, and thank you for posting your pics. Can you share more about what it was like lowering the hairline? I have an extremely high forehead (but I also have very thin, and thinning, hair), so I'm wondering what the experience was like, how much of a change (measurement) and what the stitching/scar is like, and if you had to have any hair plugs put in in the front to help conceal the scar? I'm still learning about this procedure.
Your lip lift looks absolutely gorgeous by the way. I'm not sure how much is covered with makeup but your scar is imperceptible, and your mouth looks so lovely!

Thanks and you're welcome :) So the hairline lowering went like this - during my skype consult Dr. Mayer told me to put my hand on top of my head (above my hairline), then push down (pushing the skin down, not just the hair). By pushing down we could determine how far down the hairline could go. Does that make sense? I did it again in his office and I think he said it'd go down like 1/2 inch. It probably doesn't seem like a lot, but that procedure (and orbital bony contouring) made a huge difference. You can try that whole test method on yourself and get an idea on how far your hairline could go, and it's not just the front, it's the front and wraps around to the sides of the head. I just looked at the scar and it's really hard to see. Hair is starting to grow in and around the scar now, so as time goes by it will be really hard to tell. I didn't have hair plugs because the hair will grow through the scar regardless. If you want to learn more about Dr. Mayer's method check out "Fleming Mayer Flap", which may help you with the thin/thinning hair. That's not what I did but it's an option.
Dr. Mayer really emphasizes on creating a "natural" look overall, which is definitely what I wanted. As far as the lip goes, I have zero scarring there. Under the nose is the only place where the scar is still noticeable, but I know it's still healing, so it's okay. If I missed anything or you have more questions feel free to ask :)

So it doesn't look like you have a line cut into your scalp along your hairline? Like, a very well defined area of where he made the incisions?
And thank you for the information! RS has been such a font of information for so many of us.

There is a line, but it's really hard to see because 1) The surgery was a little over 2 months ago and it's still healing, and 2) the hair is growing in and around the scar. Once is fully heals and the hair grows more it'll be really really hard to see.
Happy to help :) This site was really helpful for me when I was researching doctors and whatnot, so I'm happy to help others as well :)

You look so naturally pretty. I wouldn't touch your cheeks, they already look great. I'm having hairline lowering and brow lift with Mayer. You didn't have any hair loss?

December 3, 2016
Thanks :) and best of luck to you! Dr. Mayer and his whole team are great. You'll be in good hands. I did not have any hair loss. If you mean from the surgery that is.
