I read your question about yoga/pilates. Be careful. You might try some Restorative Yoga at first to ease yourself into routines - these are very soft routines, mostly on the floor, breathing, meditating, etc.
Oh I've been told to stick to running for a while, I still don't have full mobility in my neck.

Yes it's a little pouch that you see when I lift my head up and form the left side, it sits just behind my scar.

HI Sminky, your neck looks great. Living in southern California I have heard good things about Dr. Hoenig. I'm in the process of looking for a surgeon to do my neck but had crossed Dr H off my short list because he is a Oculoplastic Surgeon and not a board certified Plastic Surgeon. Did you have any reservations or did you know others that had used him prior to your choice?
I had no reservations, I had been to him before for other things and knew I'd go with him. Who else are you thinking of? There are a lot of options in LA.
Yes there are many good surgeons in L A. I have an up coming consultation appointment with Dr.Moelleken and also considering seeing Dr's Mani, Motykie, and Ellenbogen.
Moelleken, is a great doc too and really personable.

At age 50, I could no longer bear the face in the...

At age 50, I could no longer bear the face in the mirror. Jowls, sagging skin, crepey loose neck and asymmetric fat deposits on the right hand side of my face. I had always planned to 'have work done' but what surprised me most about the whole experience was that my only discomfort would come from having to lie on my back to sleep which was eventually solved by placing a pillow under my knees which eased my back pain.
Swelling was minimal even with fat grafting to my cheeks.

Wow !! your neck looks fantastic....I started having vertical bands on my neck when i lift my head , the doctor said not to worry , part of healing, scared tissues healing ....

I'm still on my back at 8 weeks, I could try to sleep on my side but my ears and the side of my face feel 'crunchy' and I have completely conquered sleeping on my back now which surprises me no end.
I had not slept on my back since...forever, but the first night after facial surgery I was able to sleep on my back with no trouble, head elevated yet. I was amazed. I knew I needed to sleep on my back but I thought "this part of the postop instructions is not gonna happen" I think after surgery you're extra tired from being keyed up for days, months...
