I have known Dr. Hoenig for over 10 years. I had prosis and brow lift many years ago and to date my eyes lids have not drooped. I had a lower face lift and neck lift in Oct 2022 and he has done a fabulous job. People tell me, you look different, none can tell I have had a face lift. He is a genius. Unlike other surgeons he will never tell or even agree to do a procedure you do not need. I have never met anyone like him. His bedside manners and aftercare visits are beyond anything I have ever heard of. I live close to his office and he visited me everyday for 4-5 days to change my dressing and check up on me. Anyone who gets to have do their facelift is lucky.
Brilliant, skilled, caring, conscientious, diligent, prompt, fair. Dr. Hoenig is all this and more. He goes far beyond the call of duty to ensure the patient’s well being and satisfaction. He will not perform a surgery or procedure unless he feels confident the results will fulfill your expectations. I consider myself very lucky to be in his care. Updated on 12 Feb 2023: I've had the good fortune of being seen by Dr. Hoenig for nearly three years, and recently had a neck and lower facelift. He is superbly capable, caring, precise, honest, and responsive to his patients. He will not do a procedure or surgery if he thinks there's a chance it might backfire. In this town of celebrity plastic surgeons who make arrogance a way of life, he is focused only on the patient and the results of his treatment. I know a number of his other patients and they are all equally happy with their results. His PA, Danya, is great with injectables. This is not your typical Beverly Hills office where the patient has to sit in the waiting room forever before being seen, the staff look like overgrown barbies, and the doctor will make you look like a blowfish if you want. These are real professionals dedicated to, and extremely good at, their practice.
Hands down Dr. Jonathon Hoenig is the best surgeon I found. Brilliant, kind, caring and with you every step of the way. His work is flawless!! He answers every question and is reachable at all times.
Dr. Hoenig is simply the best! I am a male in my mid 60's who had sagging eye brows and eyelids that really bothered me. I wanted to have surgery to correct this but needed to be sure the result would be a natural, gender/age appropriate look. I felt extremely comfortable with Dr. Hoenig from the moment we met. He completely understood me and my specific needs and spent a great deal of time explaining how he would achieve the outcome I desired. He also described an approach for my lower eyelids/excess skin that another plastic surgeon I saw said couldn't be done. I am now 3 months out from my surgery, and I couldn't be happier! The results are extremely impressive, yet subtle enough that no one knows I had anything done. Bravo to Dr. Hoenig and his entire staff who are all top notch! I felt so well taken care of in their capable hands. Dr. Hoenig himself was in touch with me by text/phone before and after the surgery and throughout the healing process. I felt so at ease knowing I could text or call him any time (and I did!). Thank you all for such a wonderful experience, and a spectacular result!
My research into picking a doctor started last January 2019. I bought some books, made four appointments with doctors I had been referred to in NYC and LA, and decided to spend the following months reading up on the doctors and the procedures. At the time, I was working closely with an excellent world-renowned group of eight LA doctors as a patient liaison/advocate. I knew exactly what I expected from my future doctor. What was really important to me in addition to the doctor's skill set and of course the results, was the doctor's approachability, accessibility, bedside manners and of course probable post-op care. My long-awaited appointments were back to back in October and November 2019 with three doctors in Los Angeles and one in NY. None of the three LA doctors appealed to me, I had seen their excellent work on my friends' happy faces and yet my gut was telling me otherwise. I just didn't feel I'd get the post-op care I so cared for and couldn't see myself having a long-term relationship with the doctors and their staff. So after two separate trips to NYC, I finally decided to have my procedure done in NY and set a surgery date of May 2020. My NY doctor checked all the boxes with my concerns and so I was thrilled with my choice. The holiday season was approaching and time for my scheduled visit to my aesthetician. I mentioned my various appointments and my final decision and even though he agreed with my excellent NY choice, he suggested I make one last appointment with an LA doctor, Dr. Jonathon Hoenig, whom he saw several patients of. I had not heard of Dr. Hoenig and since he does not have a big social media presence, there weren't any Instagram pictures for me to look at and not many pictures on his webpage. At the time, I mentioned this to one of the doctors I worked closely with who promptly reminded me that their group was also not very concerned with their social media presence and yet they had patients coming from all over the world to be treated by them. So I went home read several of the excellent RealSelf reviews of Dr. Hoenig and made an appointment with him for March 2020. The pandemic hit in February and with it the probable cancellation of my much-awaited NY procedure. Every day the news from NYC was getting worse with Covid cases increasing. I was being discouraged by my family to have any thoughts of any procedure done away from home. So I anxiously waited for my appointment with Dr. Hoenig which due to office closures ended up being a virtual one. I remember facetiming Dr. Hoenig and immediately feeling comfortable and at ease. An in-office appointment was made with him for June and meanwhile, my NY procedure was now cancelled with no set future date, I finally met with Dr. Hoenig at his Beverly Hills office. This was my fifth doctor appointment and so I didn't have any procedure questions and thought I knew all I needed to know about the procedure. Yet, after an almost hour long consult, I learned things from Dr. Hoenig I was not told by the other doctors. I suggested some additional procedures which other doctors had recommended for me which he discouraged taking his time to explain why. I felt comfortable, at ease and in great caring hands. I felt true honesty and was sure I would be getting excellent post-op care as well. I immediately signed up with him for surgery in August. Today is five weeks since my surgery and I am so happy with my choice. My results are as Dr. Hoenig had promised and the care I received from him was beyond my expectations. These past five weeks, I have met with him several times, exchanged several texts and phone calls with several future appointments already scheduled. He and his staff held my hand through this whole process and made this such a pleasant experience. My discomfort lasted three days, my bruising was minimal and lasted nine days. I was out and about on the tenth day with most of the swelling gone after two weeks. I am grateful to this excellent doctor for caring so much for me and helping me look refreshed and younger without changing who I am. He tells me I have still some time to reach the final results and yet I'm already so pleased with where I am!! Thank you!!! RM (age 59)
I am about 3 months post-op from my face and neck lift with Dr. Hoenig. I could not be more thrilled. I did my research, saved for 2 years and I am THRILLED. He is nothing short of a genius. I probably interviewed 7 or 8 doctors after going through a thorough search online about each one. I won't lie I was nervous. And I am not one to go overseas to have surgery - my health and safety are my primary concern. In my mid 50's, I have noticed my neck getting worse and worse (I'm not alone here, I know). I've also had multiple procedures over the past 20 years; fat injections, fillers and every kind of laser imaginable. Nothing really worked. The fat injections over the years started to make my face look strange, somewhat distorted. Not only did Dr. H fix all that WITH NO VISIBLE SCARS, but he completely revamped my neck. Honestly, it's shocking. The results are remarkable. I would do this again in a hot second. Dr. H is not cheap. But who wants a cheap plastic surgeon??? However, what you are paying for is not hype (like so many other Beverly Hills doctors), you are paying for safety and results. He also ONLY does the face, he is specialist - a true artist and intellectually brilliant. His office is very busy (a good sign), but organized. You will be seen on time, but you must also be on time. He is so busy, it took me 3 months to get a surgery date (also a good sign). I had almost no pain. He also does this surgery now in his office under light sedation; which was a relief to me. I didn't like the idea of going under deep. I felt very safe the entire time. He staff is also remarkable. Incredibly knowledgeable, kind and truly fun. They made my experience wonderful. His after care is also beyond fabulous. I've been seen already 3 times since my surgery. Dr. H answered all of my questions, gave me excellent advice and provides a truly full service aftercare - I even sent him daily photos of my incisions (to his personal cell phone) for review. I would do this again in a heartbeat. So grateful to you Dr. H.
I came to Dr Hoenig through a friend who had tremendous results. Although I haven't had any work done just yet, I plan to once I am ready. Dr Hoenig and his staff are consummate professionals. Everything from a presentation of the work he does, responding to questions and administrative follow through. Dr Hoenig is clearly a very skilled surgeon and amazing at what he does. And he is in high demand, so be prepared to wait for his services. He is well worth it.
Here is why I love Dr. Hoenig: he will absolutely, 100% tell you "no". I've been a patient for years for botox and filler; he also did my upper-blepharoplasty. Every time I go in, I'm asking about new procedures I've read about or suggesting things to try (I tend to be pretty self-critical), and most of the times, he laughs and says I don't need it. He's basically like, you're a pretty young woman, let's do a little maintenance, and leave you looking like you. He could have made a lot of money off of me going along with all my crazy ideas, and he hasn't. This gives him a tremendous amount of credibility with me, and, consequently, I trust him completely. He wants to provide quality care and do pretty, natural work. My bleph was very natural; no one ever guessed I had surgery. I just looked fresher. His office staff is great, and he is very accessible should you have a question or need help.
0 friends 1 review 5.0 star rating 10/1/2016 I researched for 4 years prior to having a lower face lift, neck lift, upper eyelid surgery, plus.. After meeting with numerous board certified plastic surgeons, I chose Dr. Hoenig. I am now 5 weeks post op, and SOO happy with the results. People only comment that I look "great and healthy". Dr. Hoenig called and visited me two separate days right after my surgery. He is an artist and treated my face as his personal work of art. He is by far the best surgeon if you are considering ANY facial/neck/eye work. I was so nervous prior to the surgery I asked tons of questions. Dr. Hoenig was always available, and willing to give me his time. His staff is equally kind and accessible. Look no further for your plastic surgeon. Dr. Jonathan Hoenig is the best!
Not only is Dr. Hoenig an outstanding surgeon, he is exquisitely skilled with creating the perfect result for each patient. He is extremely kind and handles you with respect, patience and sensitivity. He is the very best cosmetic surgeon in Los Angeles, if not California. And, it gets better....his office is efficient, friendly and helpful. There is no need to see anyone else.
I looked at your photo, and really, your nose doesn't appear that big. It just seems out of proportion to your other features. If you build up the jaw line and create a sharper angle at the corner of the jaw, all of your features will be more balanced. Sometimes I also build up the cheeks to, to also make a prominent nose appear smaller. Hard to tell from the one photo if you would benefit from that or not. I hope that is information is helpful.
Your lower eyelids appear to be very hollow with some bits of retained fat. Like other doctors have commented, it's hard to accurately assess your situation from the one photo in the upward gaze. The easiest and most cosmetically desirable solution is carefully placed Restylane to the lower eyelids to restore the fullness and camouflage the fat. Incidentally, you also seem to have a malar mount (pillow) on the right cheek which can also be camouflaged with filler.
Is is posisible to lower your upper eyelid scar, but it is not always so easy. It depends on the laxity (looseness) of your scar both above and below the incision, as well as the amount of fat (or lack thereof). A better solution may be to laser the scar with a laser that will remove the redness, rendering the scar virtually undetectable without having to undergo another surgery. Of course, it goes without saying, you should be wearing sunscreen and practicing sun avoidance (hat and sunglasses) to prevent further darkening of the scar.
Regarding ways to reduce the amount of white showing beneath your eyes, there are various methods to raise the lower eyelids. The least option (other than doing nothing) is to try injecting filler to the lower eyelids. Sometime this is all that is needed. Sometimes a canthoplasty will help. In this procedure, the lower eyelid is tightened at the outer corner of the eyelids. In your case and with your big eyes, I'm not sure that is the best treatment for you. A midfacelift to raise the cheeks may be another option. This is sometimes done along with a canthoplasty procedure. Some patients need a midface implant for more projection along with a midface lift. Judging from your (very small) photo in only one view, it does not appear that you need the implant. Oculoplastic surgeons are specialists in plastic surgery around the eyes and may be best suited to address your concerns.A personal, in -office consultation will yield a lot more information and help you answer your question more definitively.
Upper eyelid surgery through the underside of the eyelid is done to tighten the upper eyelid muscle and correct droopy upper eyelids. By droopy in the sense of how high the eyelashes are raised compared to the iris of the eye. I don't mean droopy in the sense of loose, saggy skin. This is a procedure commonly performed by oculoplastic (eyelid plastic) surgeons. It is used for a droopy eyelid, and the end result is a more refreshed, less tired appearance. No skin or fat is removed, so if loose skin or pockets of fat are your problem, the internal muscle tightening procedure will not help. The technical term for this surgery (that you can search for online for more information) is called "muellerectomy".
