Gently Refreshed My Face of Sadness and Woe - Beverly Hills, CA

I had a few unexpected life events that just drained the very life force out of me. The tell tale signs of sadness, even though I had begun to heal emotionally, were still written on my face. The heavy, drawn look of being pulled down to the earth's core and gravity were present and inescapable. I thought perhaps a few facial procedures might soften it all. I thought I could perhaps hit the "gently refresh" button, if I could only find a Plastic Surgeon that would understand and be more conservative in the outcome. I was terrified of the "Beverly Hills" face. Not the pulled taught one of years past, but the overly puffed frozen chipmunk cheeks one, of today. I am terrified when I walk into an office for a consultation and every lady that works there is obviously heavily "adjusted". Needless to say, I had quite a few consultations until I found my "Super Doctor" Sr. Brent Moelleken.

What exactly did you have done?
April 13, 2016
In non technical terms, I had my neck and jaw line done, a upper cheek lift, a gentle brow lift and upper and lower eye area. I had a CO2 laser treatment at the same time.

I had this surgery January 18. , so I am now about 3 months out in recovery. I am undergoing a bit of laser to help diminish some scars on the left side behind my ear. However, everything could not be better. Early in the process, I had a very lovely and noticeable hematoma on the left side. It sometimes happens. Dr. Brent attended to this situation immediately and followed it closely, for quite a few mornings. I was his first, before the doors opened, client. He also went for decisive action when the healing was slow and, on the spot scheduled and performed a mini surgery to flush out the area so that healing would be faster and less uncomfortable for me. It did delay my progress a week but it was so worth it. The pictures with the more dramatic bruising are because of this issue. So, just to be clear, I had a healing issue come up and I was quite concerned, even terrified at the time. Yet, Dr. Brent and his staff did all they could to remedy it quickly, comfortably and put my anxious mind and face, at ease.

Thank you for your story. I am 1 week post lower face and neck lift. I to have a hematoma. I am booked in tomorrow morning with my surgeon to have this seen to. I am going under sedation for this also. Was it ok for you xx

I actually did not get sedated. I had a local in the area. The stitches behind my ear area were re-opened and the whole jaw and behind the ear area was flushed and suctioned out (non medical terms) and then restitched. It removed a great deal of the blood that had pooled in the area that was causing the look of the terrible bruising. It also helped decrease the swelling immediately. At first we had tried to remedy the issue by almost daily extracting the fluids that were building up, but Dr. Moelleken suggested that doing this mini surgery would help me heal more quickly and with less discomfort. It was not a painful process at all. It was wonderful having the pressure and swelling decrease. The area has healed a bit slower that the other side, but I am glad that this was the approach we took.
