WORTH IT
All my life I have known that my eyes were the best feature I had going for my looks. I had been blessed with having almond shaped eyes and it was always my eyes that brought me the most compliments. So I was pretty upset to say the least, when aging robbed me of the one thing I loved the most about my looks. When I set out to find the doctor that I would trust with my most treasured asset, I took a very long time and researched intensively the many doctors and options I had available before making my selection. I also spoke to many women who underwent the same procedure as myself and saw their before and after pictures. What I realized was that many of them who previously had almond shaped eyes, ended up with different shaped eyes after their surgeries. This was something that caused me a lot of concern because I wanted my almond shaped eyes back; besides it being the facial feature I loved the most it was also part of my ethnicity being that I am of Lebanese decent. It wasn't until I was on Real Self website and I read a question someone posted on eyelid surgery. I don't remember what the actual question was, but I do remember a doctor named Dr. Moelleken answer that question so well and in his answer he went on to say the importance of having a surgeon who understood the procedure well so as not to change the shape of the eye and in his answer he mentioned how to keep the almond shaped eye. At that very moment I knew I had to fly out to California and meet this doctor who understood my concern so well. So I went to meet with him and met with two other doctors who are well known and respected in their fields. Hands down, after meeting all three doctors I knew Dr. Moelleken would be the only doctor I would ever allow my face to be touch by. Forget for one second that this doctor has all the credentials and expertise to knock all other doctors out of the ball game. He is so honest and humble and caring, so, so caring that you feel so safe and secure with him. He will not sell you on unnecessary procedures or tell you things just to hook you. He will tell you honestly on what results can be expected and what in his opinion you can do. He never once, sold me on a dream or sugar coated anything to make me feel better about having surgery with him. Hence, that is the allure about this doctor; that being such an artist and having vast experience that he could walk around with a diva attitude but instead it is quite the contrary. He was so humble and down to earth and made my consultation such a great experience. He listened to me and answered my questions and never once made me feel rushed. I had the same experience with the surgery. I had been told so many horror stories about having the brow lift that I almost did not want to have it done. But Dr. Moelleken assured me that in his opinion it would give me the best results and he was so on point with his suggestion. I am more than thrilled with the outcome. I am so happy to have my almond shape eyes back. I felt no pain at all and the bruising was so minimal that I was quite suprised because I was expecting to see my bruising and swelling be a lot worse. To all Real Self readers thinking on having any cosmetic work done, please do yourselves a favor, "it really does matter, on whose hands you put yourself in" THE RIGHT SURGEON IS THE KEY TO THE BEST RESULTS! and there is no one better than DR. MOELLEKEN. Feel free to ask me as many questions as you would like about my experience. I would be more than happy to answered them for you.

Here is a photo I took of my eyes today at almost 5 months post-op. I am so thrilled to have done this surgery.

Wow! Night and day. So lovely! I'm jealous of your eyelashes, too, and your eyebrows, LOL!

I think you look absolutely great!! What all did he do?? Did he do lowers?? What was the cost?

Sorry for the late response I just came across this now. I did not do lower eyelids. Instead, he just did his signature USIC procedure which was really important to make sure I kept my almond shape eyes. This was a gift from my significant other so you will have to ask the doctor about prices.

I feel like your eye area looks exactly the same in the new pic and the first pic. That's incredible. He just erased ten years, just like that. Are you extra-careful now about, like, rubbing your eyes and stuff?
September 11, 2014
I took this picture of my eyes today because I wanted to show what my eyes look like with makeup on post-up to be able to truly compare to the picture of my eyes 10 years ago. As far as being extra careful I am not really doing anything different than before the surgery. However, now you got me thinking that maybe I should ask Dr. Moelleken if I need to be extra careful? Hmmmm, that's a good question, I was just so happy with the results that I was on a natural high all the way back home. Lol, I did not care about anything else. Life was good again!

I was just wondering because since my breast lift, I wear a bra to bed. I never did that before. But now I'm so scared of losing my results, because I love them so much :D. I wondered if you felt the same way, LOL!

I totally understand! And I would not be suprised that once I get my breast lift done I, like you, will wear my bra to bed! I can't wait! You have been so incredibly open and detailed with your journey that I know you have helped so many with your story. I know that you helped me with my decision to go ahead and do both the breast lift and tummy tuck.

I'm so glad! I hope you get as much joy out of all of it as I have. I'd recommend sleeping in a sleep bra, though, cause I used to sleep in the underwire and I started getting weird pins & needles things. After the third time of it happening, I decided to just go with my Sleeptop bras and it hasn't happened again :D.

Thanks for the heads up,...... girl you know that I am going to be asking you for a lot of advise and questions when I start my journey on my Mommy Makeover, hahaha, you are going to get tired of me!

That'll be a first! But since I work here, I have to make sure I follow the guidelines very strictly about medical advice and stuff. I can talk about my own experiences though :).

Can you tell me where the incisions were made? Painful?
September 13, 2014
The upper eyelid incision is on the fold of the upper lid itself, but it is so difficult for even me to see it now. The incisions in this area fade quickly and beautifully. The incisions for the brow lift is on the edge of my scalp by my forehead and those I myself can no longer find. This past week I was at the salon getting my hair colored and I asked my hairdresser to help me find the scars and he could not find them either. I felt no pain at all. However, I did stay at a recovery center for one night and I had instructed them to keep me doped up at all times, Lol. When I left the recovery center, I just made sure to follow the schedule of my medications without missing a beat and I can honestly tell you, I did not feel any pain. From what I have heard other patients say it seems this is a very easy surgery with minimal discomfort and quick recovery. It proved to be the same for me as well.

You look awesome, I noticed that the stitches on your upper eyelid are done outwardly, I never seen this before, why your dr. chose this way? Is it to give eye a lift....do you think it is better way? Usually its hidden in the folds at the corners

I don't know, I guess it's because I kept insisting in having him make sure to give me back my almond shape eyes......... and he sure did deliver! I can't tell you how thrilled I am with the outcome. To me, Dr. Moelleken was GOD sent.

How did you end up paying $1 for the procedure? Did your insurance cover it?

The procedure was a gift from my significant other so you will have to talk to the doctor or penny(Care Coordinator) and find out what the costs are. I believe they offer skype consultations in case you live far. I just preferred to go and meet in person for the consultation.
