Big Trouble Without Dr Kami Parsa

In 2012 I was admitted to Cedar Sinai Hospital for SJS. This is a serious condition due to an allergy to a prescribed medication which was an anti biotic and a steroid. It was the wrong medication given to me in an ER. Google SJS. It is scary and there is no cure. It affects mucous membrane anywhere in the body. In my case, the worst reaction was inverted lower eye lids which were scratching my cornea. This would eventually get to the eye and could cause blindness. When I went to an Ophthalmologist, he left the room and called Dr. Kami Parsa and an immediate appointment was set up. To say I was frightened is a gross understatement. The first thing I experienced entering the office was the efficiency, friendliness and competence of the staff. Then I met Dr Parsa. His knowledge and plan for my treatment was evident immediately, but there was something else that was unique. His demeanor calmed my fears and I knew in an instant that I would be OK. That I was in the right hands. Like being with family or an old friend that you have complete trust in.
It's been six years and two flawless surgeries with microscopic stitches that maybe can be seen under the strongest microscope. As I said there is no cure for SJS so when my lashes grow back they must be pulled as they invert and become a little scratchy. The inverted lids are no problem after the surgeries.
I used to live a few blocks from Kami Parsa's office. At 80 years of age we retired to the mountains above L.A. It is over 100 miles from my home to Kami Parsa's office. Dr Parsa even said to me, why travel so far just to have lashes pulled. I tried 3 local Ophthalmologists that couldn't even find the lashed much less pull them.
I will always gladly drive 200 miles every 3 months or so to be treated with perfect results and feel so terrific on the way home. I also get to see my dearest Doctor and true friend Kami Parsa.
