Feeling happy

Tried taking pictures of my scars this morning since my fiancé wasn't available to. Sorry for them being a little close up...My arms are short lol. If you tap on the image I'm hoping you can see the tt scar better. So it's been about 3 months and three weeks since the surgery. Honestly it's amazing how much you can heal in 3 months! Happy I did it, no regrets. Just trying my best to lose another 10 pounds before my wedding in May.... So far I've put on three.. not the direction I was hoping for! Still lifting weights for 3 hours a week, running for 15 mins three times a week, and doing occasional walks/yoga. Still tracking my macros too to keep me from cheating too much.

7 weeks post op

Saw Dr. Rahban last week and had a lovely visit. Him and I are very happy with the results.

I think my breasts are still rounding and looking less boxy than last update. I'm glad about that continued improvement. I was also worried about my areolas being uneven in my last post. Visiting Rahban helped explain that issue. Since there was some scabbing on the top of my left breast that area still is missing some pigmentation in the top of the areola, making it look a little less even with the other areola. Dr. Rahban said that in a year if the pigmentation does not fill in I can get a small bit of tattooing to make it match the other areola better. Phew, that is an easier fix than I thought. I was worried I might need a revision.

Still doing scar care for the breasts and tummy: biocorneum, tape, and aquafor. I'm supposed to do this for atleast 6 months. Redness in the scars won't go away until the 9-12 month mark. Still some swelling in my tummy. Dr. Rahban said that should go down soon with exercise now helping to drain fluid through the lymph system better. The binder is done with! Yay! I can wear jeans daily now. I tried on several styles of underwear and bikini bottoms, many covered the tt scar just fine.

It has been wonderful getting resized at Nordstrom's. I went from a 36 J to a 36 DD. Dr. Rahban said that my current breast size should stay the same now. I would have been worried that a DD would still cause me back pain and look large but seeing it on me now, it's just right. At times my breasts look small, at times they look large ( all depends on what I'm wearing these days). If I went any smaller they may have been too small given my wide chest frame. My back pain is better and so is my posture. Running is enjoyable now! Dr. Rahban does have good judgement in what breast size is best for you. It was so hard for me to leave that decision up to him. He decides it while he's in the operating room. I'm glad I like his decision.

I probably went down one pant size since the tummy tuck. I'm a size 8/Medium at Kholes and a size 10/medium in several Nordstrom brands. I can't wait to go wedding dress shopping soon. My body has changed so much, I can actually be happy about wedding dress shopping. I'm not so limited in what styles I can wear now!

I also tried on bikinis for the first time in my life and felt like I could wear them in public! I have never imagined wearing a bikini because I have been heavy all my life. What a fun experience!

Rahban gave me the go ahead to lose 10 more pounds in the next 6-8 months if I wanted. He said that he thinks it will enhance my results, not hurt them. Especially since my breast tissue is so dense. I'm ready to hit the gym ( I missed it for 6 weeks!), tone up, and lose my last 10 pounds. I've went from 212 pounds to 160 over the last 1.5 years. My goal is 150.

Last little thing. Im doing two sessions of coolsculpting for my back fat right under the bra band. That area has been bothering me. I've already done the first session and had only mild bruising. It's akready fading and looking less bruised. I think one week later the area already looks slimmer. Looking forward to the continued results and the second treatment in 6 weeks.

Overall doing well but a little anxious

Breast healing is going ok overall. For example, I'm happy with my breast scars and no sutures ever opened up. The down sides are: the right breast is a little larger and the right areola is a little higher than the left breast. Also, they're still sort of boxy. I'm wondering how much more they will round out? I'm feeling sort of insecure about the breasts today because of the size difference, areola uneveness and boxiness. I realize overall they are a huge improvement from what I had before. I don't want to sound ungrateful. I wish I wasn't so detail oriented or anxious. I'll try to be patient and look forward to talking with Dr. Rahban about expectations for the future at my six week follow up.

The tummy tuck scar is still slow to heal, especially where the drains were. I think that all is to be expected. The tummy flatness is so impressive from what I had before. Dr. Rahban has totally transformed my waist! It exceeds my expectations.

I can't wait to be done with the binder, and buy new clothes. I have been wearing the same three outfits for weeks to try and hide the binder. The outfits aren't as flattering on my new figure. Baggy, maternity like. I'm anxious to go shopping for this new figure and enjoy the new shape of my body. I think that'll give me a boost in self confidence. Two more weeks to go before I can do that! I miss the gym so much too. It's hard to keep my mood up when I can't work out, have sex, or wear flattering clothes.

Dr. Rahban's work was much better than the average surgeons'. The breasts look fuller, perkier, and the scars more subtle. He hand stitches you closed repetitivly and evenly which takes a lot of time. You're less likely to have sutures pop open and ooze out and heal unevenly with his suturing techniques. He seals you up so well that the scars are thin and flat! He reduces your breasts based off of the width of your breast/chest wall. I think he gets better projection and fullness on the top of the breast by using the superomedial pedicle technique. Because of these things, that's why I choose Dr. Rady Rahban as my surgeon. I was willing to fly across the US to get my reduction and tummy tuck done by him in LA. The Skype calls made consults easy despite being so geographically far away. His office staff were always sweet and professional. They answered my many questions by email. He was honest about his cosmetic and functional goals. He is direct and at times intense, but in the end it's best that way. You are able to know what he really thinks. He wont make false promises that he can't keep. He doesn't give you a lot of choice in your end results, he does reductions and tummy tucks the way he has been doing them for years, making new tweaks and improvement in techniques along the way. So don't expect a lot of negotiating about your areola size or direction your nipples will be pointing. It's hard for him to make those promises anyways because it's based on what your body gives him to work with and how you heal. But don't worry his results usually look great! Consistently better than other doctors' results. Occasionally he'll get impatient with worry worts like me ( I had endless questions) or staff that aren't on the ball. He has a tight timeline and high expectations of his staff. Which in the end gave me great results and great after care. His anesthesiologist was amazing, as was the nursing staff that he worked closely with at the aftercare facility. I wanted to hug all of them because they were so kind and patient with me when I was miserable and vulnerable in the first 12 hours after a breast reduction and tummy tuck surgery done all at once. Those after care nurses were sure to do everything the way the dr wanted it done. That was such a relief. If something is not right in Dr. Rahban's eyes it will bug him because he is a perfectionist and his work is a huge part of his identity. He'll go above and beyond because he takes his work very seriously. I'd tease him "you're so intense Dr. Rahban" and he'd respond with how important it was to him to have good results and that he took everything very seriously. I hope he meditates and takes nice long vacations because he works so hard for his clients. No wonder he has so many good reviews, he made me feel so cared for. He is excellent at such complicated work. I look forward to my follow up appointments with him and his staff. It's been a very positive experience so far despite having horrible nausea after surgery ( may be due to some GI issues I have) and feeling very tender/sore.
