This is the second review I write on here for Dr....
WORTH IT$7,700
This is the second review I write on here for Dr. Katzen. My journey started with him back in August 2014. After losing 100 lbs in 2013, my body was left saggy and wrecked all over. My first review was written after he fixed my front (full arm tuck, breast lift/silicone implants, extended tummy tuck). In December 2015, he fixed my backside.
I will start by saying that despite regular exercise and healthy diet, my butt was still atrocious after my weight loss. Anything, literally anything, would be better than what I had before. Not only was it deflated and saggy, but I was left with an unsightly dimple (skin adhesion) on my left butt cheek as a souvenir from my decades of obesity.
My entire reason for surgery was to get rid of that dimple. It was torturing me. So I agreed to have a Brazilian Butt Lift. On the day of the procedure we marked the areas where we would suction fat from to harvest for the BBL. We decided on stomach, flanks and medial thighs. The recovery was a lot tougher than I anticipated, only because you literally have two options all day, stand up or lay on your belly. Unfortunately for me, the majority of my swelling accumulated in the medial thigh area from the liposuction and standing for more than 10-20 minutes was really not much of an option without being in intense pain. So it was pretty much laying on my belly for me. All day. Every. Single. Day. for what felt like 3 looooooong weeks. To add insult to injury, as the swelling subsided we noticed that that dreaded dimple was back! Despite Dr. Katzen's best efforts to fill in the dimple with fat, something was internally adhering to the skin causing it to dimple. Dr. Katzen offered to do a revision in-office where he would extend my original tummy tuck incision (which healed beautifully) by a few inches and actually cut and lift the skin. In March 2016, I bravely I went into his office and with nothing but local anesthesia (preceded by two Percocet) as he proceeded to rid me of the dreaded dimple once and for all. He was so gentle and patient and kind during the entire procedure. Were it not for the fact that at one point I turned to look at the "specimen" (aka big chunk of skin) he had removed laying on a tray beside me, it would have been a completely smooth ride. In his defense, he told me not to look and I didn't listen. Totally my fault.
My body will never be perfect but I never achieved to be. After decades of obesity all I long for it is to be "normal" and I feel like I have finally attained it.
