Life after losing a hundred fifty pounds with a vertical sleeve gastrectomy
left me with lots of excess skin. Before I had my vertical sleeve I knew I
would have skin. I had no idea how bad it would be and how it would make me
feel. I had just lost 150 pounds and felt like a failure, I could not look
at myself in the mirror. I hid under spanks everyday. I felt like people
could only see the skin not me. Three years ago I went to see Dr katzen
about removing my excess skin and fixing my breast. He was very kind and I
felt very comfortable in my consultation. He did not try to sell me on
something I did not need. He made me feel like I was in good hands. My
whole experience was very professional and caring. I am extremely happy
with my results. For the first time in my life I feel like the person I'm
supposed to be. I love to look at myself now and I can wear any clothes I
would like. I have the confidence to try new things. I also have a newfound
love for fitness and taking care of this body. Thank you Dr. Kazen and your
staff forgiving me my body by katzen.

How did you find the recovery process, following surgery? How long was your downtime? Did you have any problems with incisions opening, etc? I'm going to need this surgery soon and hearing from people, like yourself, who have gone before me, is a godsend!

Congratulations, I am so pleased for you. You look amazing. Thank goodness there are specialists who are able to help people who have worked so hard to lose the weight achieve a body they can be proud of. It seems so tragic that people have such incredible determination to lose all the weight - and we know how incredibly hard that can be - only to end up with a body that they can't be proud of. I feel sympathy for people that can't afford to undergo plastic surgery to reshape their bodies and remove the excess skin, as they invariably then have to deal with and hide another body problem. Of course they are healthier, but seldom happier. I know there are worse problems faced by millions of people throughout the world ... putting things in perspective ... but that doesn't mean we can't have compassion for each and every person. It's all relative.
