Diastasis back....hourglass gone

marylandmommy
$27,000
Im so devastated. Not only is my diastasis 4 finger gap back.... But that also comes along with losing my hourglass shape that I had after the surgery at 4 weeks.
I hated my body since my first child was born and I FINALLY loved it post op.
Having to go back to the same thing (but with scars now), is heartbreaking. Even more so that we spent our savings for me to finally get my surgery.
I was handling the ups and downs post op well until this. I'm just crushed :(

Omg! I'm so sorry to hear about this. What caused it to happen?

I have no idea...I looked great at 4 weeks! I still have yet to even do any abdominal exercises even though I was cleared for them at 6 weeks. I even had around the child care set up for 6 weeks for my kids. I did everything by the rules they laid out :(

Have you talked to your PS about the repair failure? Is there anyway for them to fix this without you having to pay full price again? It just stinks that you did everything right only for things to go wrong.

Did your doctor use permanent or temporary stitches?

Can you update on your progress? How is your shape now? Did you ever ask your surgeon about this?

Hi! I am curious what happened & if Dr Moellekan fixed it? I am in a super similar boat as you & our befores look super similar & am in contact with Dr Moellekan. I’m super scared to go through with him if this happens though! Let me know if you can, thanks!

11 Weeks Post Op.... issues

marylandmommy
After you have surgery, you have so many questions. Usually, the response is that it's too early to judge the results and to wait until several months out to see.

Well I am at almost 12 weeks post op and what I had originally wrote off as swelling, is actually my diastasis that reoccured alive my naval.

I can feel a multi finger separation, but i don't understand how. I followed every single post op rule that was laid out for me.

I am feeling so much guilt right now. I spent so much of my family's money on this whole surgery + Childcare for 6-8 weeks..... And now my surgery has already partially failed :(

I don't think I'm going to be able to afford a revision. It would also include airfare for two people, hotel for 9 nights again, and childcare again. :(

Yayayay!! Woke up this morning without any swelling! Ive been back in the gym doing 1 hour of fast paced treadmill walking for 4 dats now, I think its helping with the swelling :)
This is the happiest ive been with my body in years..... even with the scars!
I know im still in for more swelling and rough days ahead, but I can see the light now! Im so happy!!

Do glad you are happy with your results. How has the last month been? Any more swelling? You are looking fantastic.

The last month has been okay. It appears that my muscle repair failed belly button up, since i can feel my diastasis gap is back :( but pain is almost gone, swelling is bearable
