I'm starting my 3rd month on monday June 8, and during this entire 2nd month on accutane, I have experienced dry lips, dry face, tiredness, dry eyes, and some thinning hair?? Idk if is my imagination, but i see myself with less hair.... I'm going to upload pictures for each week, for this 2nd month. I had nodular cyst acne on both of my cheeks :( , which left me with hyper-pigmentation. I'm using skinceuticals phyto for the hyper-pigmentation. I'm seeing more scars due to old acne, and have my right eye red. I can't say that I'm seeing improvements, but I need to control my acne first, before doing any acne treatment for scars, sun damage, and hyper-pigmentation. I'm hoping to be done with the treatment already, it's really unconfortable to be putting lip balm any 5 or 10 minutes.

Almost a month on accutane

This is a quick update,
Most of my face is getting better, except my left cheek, when i usually don't breakout or get any pimples at all (see picture). I tried picking on them, but didn't help. Its been a week since i dont get pimples anywhere else just my cheek. Idk if this a good sign or not. I mean i know your pores are changing, and some areas improve faster than others?

Its really hard for me to do my review from my phone, but here it is.
11 days - 40 mg per day
7 days - no medicine, because i was sick.
7 days - 40 mg every other day.
2 days so far with 40 mg every day again.
Today i woke up and see my face different, is hurting, I guess because its super dry, i see that is getting red, i see wrinkles,.. my derm advised me to do salycilic peels and clear and brilliant, for better results.(Thinking about doing those)
This is what i'm using:
. Cerave moisturizer lotion
. Jan marini sunscreen 33
. Jan marini cleanser
. Dr. Dans cortibalm for my dry lips
. Systane for my dry eyes.

What is a salicylic peel? I would like to know as I'm on my 2nd week of accutane. Will it dry your face out more? The pics u posted are they showing improvement? To me your skin doesn't look bad.

Here's a link about salicylic acid peel. http://www.realself.com/reviews/salicylic-peel
I haven't done one myself.
Derm put me on accutane for 5 months, 3 clear and brilliants and salicylic acid peels. Basically do one each month (not 2 at the same time) I dont know if it will dry my skin even more, Im gonna try one next week. My main concern is my neck and cheeks. Lets see if it works :)

ohhhhh are you sure you should be doing a peel while on roaccutane? you run a high risk of damaging your skin, it will dry it out A LOT! Did your derm suggest that you do these peels?? I have been told by my derm that i shouldnt have any procedures like a peel or laser until at least 12 months after completing the course....

Please research doing salicylic peel while on accutane before doing it, i've just had a hunt around google, and the general consensus is that you can cause a lot of damage. I know you want to speed up the process as much as possible, but patience really is key with accutane.

My derm is Dr. Jason emer and here is a link where he answers my clear and brilliant concern. He told me that the healing will be slower, but the results will be even better. I guess, you are right, I probably shouldnt risk it. I just dont know. http://www.realself.com/question/seattle-wa-clear-brilliant-treatment-accutane

I think if I were u I would hold off on the peel. I'm starting to feel like a dried up prune on my face so if a peel causes dry skin I definitely wouldn't do it right now. How long have you been on the accutane so far?
April 27, 2015
Yes, even though my derm advised me to do a light peel, I think i will just wait until my dryness goes away.... My face is super dry too.
It's almost a month with accutane generic brand claravis.
What moisturizer are you using for your face?

April 28, 2015
I have been using Cerave moisturizing cream. Seems to be working pretty well. Its a thick lotion. Non greasy. It says Non-comedogenic and non irritating with ceramics and hyaluronic acid. I really like it. What are you using?
