Continues to tighten

Well yesterday was the official 3 month mark. What I'm noticing now is that when I start to feel a little pain I think it means it's tightening more. Leo and behold I was feeling a bit of tenderness last week, now it's gone and my chin is even tighter than before. I mean can I be a model now?? I feel gorgeous and everyone is getting annoyed at all the selfies I'm taking!

3 months out

My chin is gorgeous. I actually have a jaw and chin and a chin now. Something I have not seen come up on this forum is that although at the 3 month mark and I'm loving my results I still have some residual soreness/numbness. It has not kept me from participating in anything and most of the time I'm not thinking about it at all. I am a little surprised I still have a some pain - it's more of occasional flare ups - but Doc said this is normal because the nerve endings have to heal and it could be a year before all residual pain is totally gone. I will reiterate that it so worth it though. I wake up thrilled everyday with my gorgeous chin. I'll post an updated side profile pic. Just excited for the day when I'm completely back to normal pain-wise

I went to a few doctors for consultations on...

I went to a few doctors for consultations on getting Kybella for my long-abhorred double chin. It was getting worse with age and when I looked at what my Dad's turkey neck/jowls has become I knew I had to take action now. I have never had a chin and always have had a version of a double chin at any weight I have ever been (even back in my teens) and I've always been in the healthy weight range (or only a few pounds above). When I went, on a whim, to Dr. Magge's office he sold me on Smartlipo on the chin which I had never heard of. He explained it would be cheaper, more effective and all I had to deal with would be several days of the dreaded compression garment and some tolerable swelling. I booked it and Dr. Magge performed the surgery on July 7th, 2016. I was out seeing a show at the Kennedy Center with my Mom on July 9th-two days later. I was sore but it was manageable. Fast forward 5 weeks post-surgery and I have no pain just a little lumpiness and a tiny bit of soreness that doesn't bother me at all. And I have no double chin!!! I feel like crying I am so happy now when I look in the mirror. My mom keeps raving about what an amazing job Dr. Magge did that it looks so amazing and she cannot believe how fast I healed. I agonized over the decision to do this and I think most people struggle with conflicting emotions about getting plastic surgery. I struggled with questions am I being too vain? Is the double chin my fault and should I diet even more strictly than I already have all my life to try to get rid of it? What if I end up on the next season of Botched or even worse look like Meg Ryan. I even voiced all my concerns to Dr. Magge who calmed me significantly. Before going in I felt supremely confident in this procedure. Needless to say I went through with it and AM SO GLAD I DID. At my worst point (in the last few years) when I would have a conversation with people I would not hear what they were saying because in my head all I ever thought was, "you're looking at my double chin right now aren't you?" If you're thinking about doing this and the double chin bothers you that badly, do it! I'm already so happy with my results and apparently with smartlipo my results will only continue to improve for the next 5 months so I'm not even at my best chin yet! And go to Dr. Magge if you can. He's so honest and I felt so comfortable that he knew exactly what he was doing. You will love him and your results!

Dr. Magge is simply the best. I feel comfortable telling him my goals (which is not easy in a profession like this). It's easier to tell a doctor you have a fever than to tell him you want your double chin removed, trust me. And I felt so comfortable talking about all these concerns with him. He has a very soothing manner that makes you feel calm and that he is trustworthy. No one before him had talked over the smartlipo procedure with me which ended up being the best procedure for me. He is the best and I look forward to working with him again!
