Five weeks later

Finally, I feel much better. The numbness is mostly gone, ears feel ok and a bit of swelling still by the ears. I walk by the mirror and am still surprised. I retired in November and had lunch with some former coworkers today and they were amazed. Lip lift scar still healing. I have learned I'm more impatient than I thought but can finally say.....I'm so glad I did it!!!

I'm glad to be reading that you are feeling much better and happy with your decision. I am just two weeks out, and the numbness and swelling are a little concerning, but then I check the stories on here and I always feel better. Thank you for sharing your journey, you have put many more at ease than just me, I'm sure. I've been told (here) patience is the key, and eye on the prize. I'm so happy I found this site and all these wonderful women willing to share and comfort.

I checked this site too. I wasn't prepared for the healing process. It's been quite a journey and I was scared at times. You will feel better soon I'm sure!

I am now nine month post from my facelift with Dr. Jabs. All of the swelling is gone, scars have faded, everything has settled and looks completely normal but people think I am turning 40 rather than 50. You are still very early on - you've got an amazing doctor with an amazing staff. You will be amazed at how much your new look feels just like "you" in a couple of months. I am looking forward to my one year follow up with Dr. Jabs in June.

A quick story - I decided to get permanent makeup on my lips and the tattooist was talking about her referrals from plastic surgeons. I mentioned that I had a face lift last summer and she said "but you are too young for a facelift." I assumed it was flattery but after I told her I am almost 50, she asked for Dr. Jabs information since she couldn't see any scars or telltale signs even under the magnifying glass. Now that is good work, Dr. Richards is as good so you should really look forward to the next year.

It's Been Four Weeks Since my Procedure

It's been four weeks today since I had a mini lift, laser around my mouth, upper eyes and lip lift. So far and very pleased with the procedure, but I realize I'm still healing. My skin from the laser is very dry and still seems to be healing and I know I'm swollen still in a few places. My lip keeps going up and down and swelling and the doctor said that will probably happen for a couple more weeks. At any rate I just wanted to post a before and after picture.

I hope in a good way. Skin is still very dry and red. I was in a twilight sleep when it was done but just felt tight after.
