Just Had First Round of Injections

Had my first round of Kybella injections on Friday...

Had my first round of Kybella injections on Friday. Swelling wasn't bad, peaking after 24 hours and now almost entirely gone after 96 hours. Burning didn't last more than an hour and was about a 2 on a pain scale of 1-10. So far, I have no hardness in the area or bruising or pain of any kind. The only evidence I had the procedure done is a bit of jiggle still present in the skin from the excess fluid.
I will most likely update to a "Yes" it was worth it once the weeks go by. But so far, it's been less painful than an eye exam.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It is so helpful to others to hear what the procedure is like from someone who has been through it firsthand. Looking forward to your great results as well!

Thank you for sharing. I'm at about 30 hours out from my first treatment and I'm very swollen. I'm hoping it begins to go down soon and I have a similar recovery! Things seem like they're going pretty easy for you.

Had a 2nd round of injections on January 30th. Now at 5-week mark. I seem to have swelled up just as much the 2nd time around as I did the first; stubborn fat, perhaps. I hope. LOL
But the pain was absolutely minimal. In fact, in retrospect, I should probably adjust my pain rating for the first treatment down to about a 1 or 1.5. It hurt no more than being flicked with a finger both times. IMHO, I chalk that up to having a really outstanding professional like Dr. Lichtenberger who knows what he's doing. Don't skimp on expertise with this treatment would be my advice.
As for results, I guess we'll see. It's difficult to determine if I'm back to baseline from the first round of Kybella or not. My wife can't tell either. It could be that I've grown accustomed slowly over the intervening days and weeks and don't notice the change. But I've taken photos and compared them to my set before I began my 1st treatment and I honestly can't see a difference.
However, it very well could be that (a) my swelling was not yet completely gone when I had my 2nd round, so that (b) I've had the equivalent of 4 vials with only 10 weeks of total time for things to settle down. If I'm not seeing a change by the end of March, I might be a bit disappointed, but to be clear, that's one of the risks with any treatment: one size doesn't fit all. If it ends up working, super. If not, hey, every body is different in how it responds to stimuli. Dr. Lichtenberger was very upfront about what to expect and I still wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a cosmetic surgeon in the Bellingham/Greater Seattle area.
Keeping fingers crossed,
D.

Not seeing *any* improvement. Wondering if Kybella just isn't for me. Photo on left taken just before first treatment in late December, photo on right taken today, March 20.
That's great that it was such a painless procedure! Do you know how many rounds of injections you'll need to achieve your desired result?
