41yr old, 120lb, (450cc) Please refer my Dr review for a more detailed review on Dr. Gottlieb and staff.
Had procedure 7 months after consultation. Was always planning to do it but what finally made me pull the trigger was going to Vegas (the happiest place on earth) this spring and wearing a very padded swimsuit swimsuit and having to 'squeeze' out a ton of water when I got out of the pool. That was enough of that and I knew where I wanted to go. Everything from pre-op to post went very well- am 7 wks post op right now and feel like things are still progressing well.

Had the procedure on a Thursday and back to work on Monday, though was very tired for 2 weeks which may have been helped if I had I stayed home a couple of more days. I work on a computer but have 10 hr days FWIW. Scars looked decent after 3 wks and more faded by 6 weeks- I'm not disciplined enough for scar cream so this is natural healing. : )

Not going to lie- it' (healing process) is uncomfortable. I used pain med 24x7 for 3 days then just at night for the next 2 wks. Stay true to the bra wearing schedule and things will feel and go better- ie wear the 'strap'. The weird part is the return of sensations- nipple sensitivity for the first 3 weeks is the worst. Off and on very tender but it does get better!

I hate how long my recovering is taking. My nipple sensation is coming back and yes, it's very sensitive and annoying. Glad you're feeling better now :) you sound so strong! I'm inspired. Can't wait to feel normal again.

Thank you! What amazed me is how recovery was plugging along then one day things just started improving exponentially. Like you round a corner at one point.

Question...for the nipple thing...can you cover them with bandaids? Would that help so they are not rubbing in your bra? Need to ask for future reference! Six weeks from today!!

Woot! Congrats! I heard some people wear band-aids and it helps. A good girlfriend bought these breast 'petals' from Nordstrom- they are like smooth, nude color pasties and they did help. Remember it will pass! It was also suggested to me that you take a pencil and push the eraser tip against the nipple and push for a minute or so. Sounds counter-intuitive but it works for temporary relief. Please let me know if there is anything I can share from my experience. I know when I was using this board prior to surgery I looked for people in my same age/weight/cc category and that helped.

I can- though I don't have any 'before' right now. Let me get some nerve up and I'll do it soon.

Weight adjustment

Happy in Sammamish
I haven't fluctuated much on my weight in 10 years but I had a little shock when I stepped on the scale after surgery. Don't forget that these suckers are going to add a pound or two to your total! It's a little mental adjustment if you are used to seeing the same number on the scale.

Congratulations! Glad to hear you are happy with your results and your PS! Squeezing the water out of your swimsuit top is a very common trigger for women to finally go for the surgery. Have you been swimsuit shopping yet or do you think you can take out the padding in your old suits? I'm guessing you'll definitely need new bras? Thank you for sharing your story on RealSelf!

I'm going to need to buy new swimsuits and new bras. Not that broken up about it though. : )
