Week 1 update

Well RS.... Today marks my 1 week anniversary of having my TT!!!! I must say I feel pretty darn good. Everyday is getting better and better. I am still a little hunched over but that is improving daily as well as the back pain from being hunched over. As far as pain, I have not taking my pain meds since Po day #2 and I generally take extra strength Tylenol only at bed time with a muscle relaxant just bc the swelling at night time causes sooooo much discomfort. I had a drainless tummy tuck so I didn't have to deal with the drains, which was a huge plus in me choosing my PS bc I know how those drains can be. I am am ulating more and sti using my scd's when I am sitting resting. The next big thing I really looking forward to is being able to sleep how I normally sleep be propping up on the pillows is getting old, lol!! My first Po appt is tomorrow so I am excited about seeing my PS and also getting out of this house. I must say if I had to do this all over again I would 100 % do it in a heart beat!! I took a peak at my stomach this am and it looks amazing!!! Can believe this is me!! Still having swelling of course but again that is to be expected!!

All sounds wonderful and encouraging! I'm on day two post op. I'm uncomfortable, I have 4 drains and a pain fanny pack. They are very annoying!

U r going to do well!!!! It is amazing how much better u will feel each day!! Just hang in there and take ur meds as u need them!! Also start taking a stool softner now so u don't get constipated!!

I almost spit out my juice when you said "[RS bleep] just got real!" lol I know that's how I will be once my day comes. You mention having a drain less tummy tuck, how is that possible? How are the fluids removed from your body then? Is this something that is usually given an option when you decide to have surgery?

Hello, a drainless tummy tuck is just that..... It has no drains!! Once the MD has completed the TT he stitch u up almost using like a crochet type technique. What happens in a TT is once the excess skin and fat is removed the is what they call " dead space" which allows fluid to build up this requiring drains to remove the fluid. Well using the crochet technique of stitching u up there is no "dead space" for fluid to build up in so u don't need any drains. It requires like an extra 45 min to the surgery time and is a little more expensive because of the extra time but totally worth it to me. Not all physicians do the drainless tummy tuck bc it does require a certain skill and adds more time but if I was u I would definitely see if it is am option. Also google it!' Hope this helped

Overall I must say I feel ok..... I pretty much stopped taking my pain meds on day 2 and just taking Tylenol. This dog on back pain from being hunched over it frustrating!!! The first 2 days the incision burned whenever I went to restroom but that has gotten better. I try to move around a lot to help prevent clots and help regain my strength ....... So tomorrow I will be post op day 5 and I will walk outside down my drive way.... Just taking it day by day. Imma post some pics tomorrow!!
